BODY HUGGING SKIRT
Gurl’s, I really want to make sure all of you are taking care of your health this winter. I have seen way too much sickness that is going on this year. I don’t have any numbers to say that it has been worse than normal but it sure seems like the flu season is taking a toll on everyone. This is on my mind because I spent the day on Wednesday driving with Joe to see a great friend of ours who is in ICU in the hospital. When we were talking to him today he said that he had only been sick two days before he went to the doctor.
This man is a big man. I mean like 6’4″ or taller and exactly what would come to your mind if I said a mountain man. He let this sickness get to the point that he was on death’s door before he even went to the doctor. I have heard so very many people who said that they never ran a fever so they did not think that they were sick. If you feel sick, go to the doctor and get checked out. All it will cost you is a doctor’s visit but if you wait then it could cost you so much more. I can’t wait until our friend is better and comes home so we can kick the tar out of him for scaring us to death. He wouldn’t expect any less. Lol!
I wanted to show you again how just changing a few things can change the entire look of an outfit. I wore this outfit to church a couple of weeks ago and then I came home and took my pictures. I wore the beautiful beige/tan cashmere cocoon cardigan that was from Isaac Mizrahi. I love the feel of cashmere and I am always trying to pick up one or two pieces when I find it on sale. It is such a nice material and it makes you feel special when you wear it. If you don’t think that you can afford to buy cashmere in the stores then try eBay. I have bought lots of nice things over the years from eBay. Just make sure you check the ratings, the shipping rates, and read really thoroughly. I have gotten things that I didn’t want because I read what I wanted it to say instead of what it really said.
No earrings and no necklace! WHAT??? Instead, I just added a printed lightweight infinity scarf. This was one that I picked up from Cato Fashions earlier this Fall. I chose this because it is light and also because it has the cranberry color throughout the print. I added a couple of bracelets and that was it. Lol! The leather and disc bracelet is the Scarlett and the leopard print cuff bracelet is the Mae. Both of these bracelets are adjustable.
This sweater knit skirt is one that I bought the first of the season at Cato Fashions. I love this skirt and the way it fits. It is the perfect fit and it hugs your body. This skirt makes me look bootylicious. Lol!!! I hope no one spits their coffee out over that statement. Lol!
Once I came home from church I slipped into a more comfortable outfit. I already posted this outfit on the blog last week, you can go here to read about it. I changed out the skirt for a pair of jeans and the scarf for some jewelry. I changed the knee boots for some ankle boots and I have gone from dressy to casual.
These leather knee boots are 3 or 4 years old and they are probably still my favorite pair of boots. They have a fur lining and I just feel like I am being wrapped in a warm blanket when I put them on. I bought this pair ar TJ Maxx and all I can remember about them is that they were made in Italy. There is no markings or brand on the boots so I can’t even try to look them up. This pair zips up the back which I like. I can’t stand to buy boots that pull on. I can get them on but getting them off is a whole different story. Also, if you wear pull on boots it is harder to put them on over your pants without them looking like they are bunched at the top. I have seen some people use mitten clips to hold the pants down. They turn your pants into stirrup pants but it looks like the clips would hurt to walk on.
I hope all of you take really good care of yourselves and your loved ones for the remainder of this hateful flu season. Spring is right around the corner. I am going to be doing a week of white next week in celebration of the upcoming season.
I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

What a pretty outfit. That color combo is perfect. And that scarf really is the perfect touch. Thanks for reminding us to take care of ourselves too. Thankful your friend will be ok. I am taking my ESPRIA daily essentials. These include something for our immune system. So far I’ve haven’t been sick.
Love the outfit. Your hair style looks great too.
Hi Tania. I love your blog. You are so inspiring and your outfits are so cute. I also like the option of supporting your businesses. I have ordered Plunder from you and I get many compliments. I was wondering if you could help me with a specific necklace. I so love the Jessica and was hoping you might have some ideas about how I could get one.
Thank you. Juli
Love the dressy to casual styling. Looks great on you. I truly think a scarf many times gives an outfit the best look and accent over a necklace.
I love this outfit! I wish I was comfortable in a dress, but I just never like the way I look in them and my husband, who saw me trying one on one day, said to me, I think you look better in pants! Oh well! You look lovely in everything! It has been a winter of a lot of sickness and I’ve never had so many weather migraines and sinus headaches as I have this winter. Several ladies I work with have had many more too!
Men are funny, Amy. Joe tells me that he prefers me in a dress. Lol!
Love both looks! Funny though, when I come home from church I put on sweats. ☺️ Thank you for all the inspiration you give us every day. Wonderful ideas to try and experiment! Have a great day ~ Alex
Love, love this outfit, rather both outfits! You are such an inspiration with all your gorgeous fashion choices. Just wish I had the budget for many! Stay well and keep your eye on Joe! LOL!
Today you remind me of the DoubleMint twins commercial for chewing gum. I love, love ,love the two outfits. How cool would this be for traveling. You look like a million bucks in the cranberry skirt, but then what could be better to wear than a great pair of jeans. Cashmere and Cranberry sounds like a store I would be happy to shop at.
Love both of these outfits, great way to show versatility! We’re on the mend from all the sickness. Out of 3 of us, 2 have had colds, 2 have had flu and 1 had bronchitis (my husband who ended up in ER because he wouldn’t go to the Dr.! Ugh!). My 12 yr old daughter skated through with nothing, I want to know what her magic powers are!
As usual, NICE outfits, both. You look so warm and cosy in the skirt outfit, especially! I get so much great inspiration from your outfits – keep up the great work!
Awww, thanks.
