BLACK ON BLACK STYLE
Gurls, I am going on the road again. This time, I am going to be going to San Francisco California, and I have never been there before. I had a lot of friends on FaceBook leave me some “must do” things to do since I will only be there for a few days. I have never been one to travel before; I figured that it was expensive and I could “see” all of the sights on the internet. Plus, the biggest obstacle for me when it comes to traveling has been my fear of flying. I have let an unreasonable fear keep me for going and enjoying different cities and places. I would choose to spend 12 hours in a car driving to Florida instead of hopping on a plane that can get me there in about 1.5 hours. (Insert shaking head here.)
This trip isn’t costing me much since I am being flown out there, put up in a lovely hotel, treated to a wonderful reception with heavy appetizers and drinks, a tour of the R+F headquarters, and some training by some of their staff. Wow! Someone needs to drive to my house and pinch me because I am still in a daze. I decided to stay an extra day so that I could do some sightseeing so this coming Saturday I will be jamming as much into my day as I possibly can. I can’t wait to share my adventure with all of you, and if it is half as nice as I have heard, I will probably be making another trip with Joe later. Be sure to shout out your favorite thing to do there since I can only choose a couple of activities.
I love the texture and the zig-zag pattern of this sweater. This is by a fairly new brand called 1.State that was only launched in 2014. They try to bring clean architectural details to a feminine, modern look. I like what they have created, and I have another sweater from them that I will be showing you tomorrow. This fits true to size, and it is hand washable. It features a drop sleeve look and a crew neck which almost looks like a turtleneck on me. I know that these red pumps were the first thing that you noticed in this picture. I am falling in love with this shoe designer even though I originally only bought his purses. The brand is Michael Kors, and I now have four or five pairs of his shoes, and everyone is so easy to wear. I took advantage of the Half Yearly sale from Nordstrom and bought this pair and another pair that will be a pair that I will wear in the spring and summer. Here are a few that I think are very similar. Believe me when I say that a pair of red pumps will change your outlook.
I don’t have a clue what has me so tickled. My daughter was playing photographer today for me, so I am sure that she was making fun of me in some way. I thought that adding my wide leg black pants that I bought at Cato Fashions would keep this outfit looking dressy and classic. I don’t wear black a lot, but I do like the effect that you get from wearing black on black. I was trying to think the other day what one word would describe my style. The best that I could come up with was “colorful”, and then here I am wearing strictly black and white. I am glad that I decided to add the bright red pop of color so that I could still be considered colorful. What one word would you use to describe your style? Do not use pitiful, clueless, drab, or sad. You are reading my blog, so I would like to think that I have helped you change so that those words don’t apply. Lol!

Really like this look- the pop of red is great! Travel- I’d much rather drive so we see more of the country along the way. Since it’s usually just my husband and myself- we are “free” to make little side stops if we want. Sure, most travel is on interstate- but we keep our eyes open for fun stops. Hate flying….

I wore a lot of black because my “significant other” LOVED black. I have colorful tops but even years after he passed on, I still wear a lot of black & gray. (With my favorite red or burgundy.)

Tania, I’m so thrilled that you’re going to San Francisco! I personally Love Fisherman’s Wharf, which has a few restaurants to saunter into, or you can eat soup in a sour dough bread bowl out on the street. 😉 You also should wander to Pier 39 which is blocks away, also on the waterfront. There are some touristy yet fun shops. Plus that’s where the piers where there are sea lions honking, swimming and basking in the sun. So fun to see! Then there is the trolley car and Lombard street. Those are all my faves. Good luck and have fun!
I’ve been going to San Francisco for more years than I care to remember. It’s not the same anymore, but if you have a plan and know where to go, as well as areas to stay away from, you can see a lot in 1 day. I would dress comfortably, wear shoes I could walk uphill in, and I would be very aware of my surroundings. Also, you might want to google up the most dangerous areas of San Francisco so you know ahead of time where you might want to avoid, especially if you’re by yourself. Hope you have a lovely and safe trip.
I live only thirty miles from San Francisco but hardly ever visit. The hop on hop off busses would be the way to go to see the city. I love the running musical production Beach Blanket Babylon. It’s intertaining, fun and the costumes are hilarious.
I follow you because I too describe myself as colourful. I love seeing how there out colour together without looking tacky. You do that very well. You do look gorgeous in the black outfit too. Keep up the good work. FYI I am wearing ultraviolet today…over black.

Head to Ghirardelli while in San Francisco! After a decadent hot chocolate or hot fudge sundae take the trolley up to Lombard Street! The view is gorgeous. You will have so much fun exploring this area; be sure to pack comfy shoes for walking. I love the red pumps with the black and white outfit. You look amazing!
Love this outfit, Tania! You look great and the shoes really add a statement. Enjoy your trip to SF, but don’t expect too much. The City is filthy and you’ll see things you wish your eyes could erase. It’s a shame because it used to be a fabulous city to visit. We’re avid SF Giants fans and won’t even go to the City to see them play anymore. Last year we flew to Denver to watch them play.?
