50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND WHITE FOR HALLOWEEN | FASHION OVER 40I will be so glad when Hurricane season is over. I hate seeing all of the destruction that has been done from these storms and it is just painful to know that so many people have lost everything that they own in these storms. Hurricane Michael hit in the area that I was just in, Rosemary Beach, and I hated seeing that gorgeous area being devastated and I am praying for everyone safety. I also hate seeing this storm move toward the Carolina’s which had so much rain from the previous Hurricane and they don’t need any more heading their way. Mother Nature is beautiful but she sure can pack a mean punch when she feels like it.50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND WHITE FOR HALLOWEEN | FASHION OVER 40 I know that I have a lot of readers in Florida and I love that FaceBook can at least let you see when someone is safe. People give social media a hard time for a lot of reasons but this is one area that it is wonderful for. If you live in any of the affected areas please make sure that you go on a social media platform and tell everyone that you are safe. It rained here most of the day but I tried my best not to complain because I knew that it was so tiny in the big picture. 50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND WHITE FOR HALLOWEEN | FASHION OVER 40Halloween is only a couple of weeks away and I am trying to get in the spirit. I love giving out candy but there are not a lot of children in the area that I live in so I don’t have but one or two that come to the house. Most people go to the Trunk or Treat events now instead of going door to door. But, I want to be prepared just in case anyone comes by, so an outfit like this would be something that I would wear to open the door. Talk about simple….. every one of you can duplicate this look easily. I have on a plain white top, at least it is plain to me. Lol! There is a tiny bit of interest on the hemline and it can be worn off the shoulder, but for the look, you could use any white shirt that you already own.

50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND WHITE FOR HALLOWEEN | FASHION OVER 40I stuck with the black theme even in my jewelry. I have on a pair of gold earrings with black fringe. They have discontinued the gold pair but they still have the same earrings in silver called the Paula. I should have worn my Britt earrings instead, but I was trying to go with a basic look, so I went with the other pair instead. I do have on a new bracelet and ring that are also in the black and gold family. They are the Tawny bracelet (cross and black beads on an elastic cord) and the Primrose ring which features a large black stone surrounded by a decorative gold design. 50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND WHITE FOR HALLOWEEN | FASHION OVER 40I rolled my pants up so that you could see the Marc Fisher black ankle boots. However, I would probably wear them long normally and only let the toe stick out. These boots have silver buckles for a unique detail that helps give them some visual interest.

50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND WHITE FOR HALLOWEEN | FASHION OVER 40I have a couple of pair of jeans from Kut From The Kloth and I highly recommend them. (see my dark wash ones here) They are very comfortable and are pairs that I will reach for over and over. My favorite look is the Diana and it fits me really well. This stretch black corduroy pair is perfect for the upcoming winter season. They say that these stretch as you wear them so that you should size down but I am just wearing my normal size and I haven’t had any problems. 50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND WHITE FOR HALLOWEEN | FASHION OVER 40Another day, another email. “Just an update:  on my third day of r and f and loving how my face feels and looks already. So glad I began using this incredible system.” This makes me so happy!!!

  1. I never get tired of Halloween fun! It makes it more so if we dress up a bit!

  2. I had to chuckle; even though this is cute and casual, I would be in blue jeans and a sweatshirt to open the door to trick or treaters…LOL. We too use to get the neighborhood kids out here in the country, but they are now all grown so nobody comes but I too am prepared just in case someone would be driving by on their way home.

  3. This is my kind of Halloween look. I didn’t see a mention of the scarf but it’s really cute and could wear more than just this holiday. Kut from Kloth jeans are some of my favorites. This lol gets pinned.

  4. Black and white is always so classic and timeless. Nice how you have found a halloween scarf to follow the occassion. I hope you are keeping safe in your part of the country. We are so lucky here in the UK with our weather. Most of the time it is only rain we complain about.
