BETWEEN THE LINES FEATURING 50 IS NOT OLD
I am just one of those people. who always wants to read between the lines. What did they really mean, or what are they trying not to tell you. In this case the answer is easy. I am participating in a new series by Katherine of Katherine’s Corner. She asked bloggers who are in the over 50 age group, of all genre, to join her in this ten week series. This is series 2, go here for the first series, and I will be joined today by six other bloggers. Each one of us will answer a couple questions from Katherine, and on the last day of the series, we get to ask Katherine a few questions.
Katherine asked us each to talk about why we blog, and the obstacles we face being in a certain age range. I think she was politely saying we might be in a computer challenged age bracket. Lol! She was correct in that assumption. The poor thing had to change the set-up at least twice because this is something new for a lot of us. I was just thrilled that I was not going to be featured till way up in May. WRONG!!! Someone asked to be switched, and being so sweet of course, I agreed. As long as I wasn’t in the first group, I was fine. I hate the feeling of inadequacy. I will work my but off, if I know what I am doing, but I can’t stand that phase where you are afraid your going to be the only one who doesn’t understand. Fortunately, Katherine has done these type series before, maybe not with quite this many participants, but she took it all in stride.
This is one of the reasons I love blogging. It is just another way to get me out of my comfort zone. It is also a way to make myself accountable. It is waaay to easy to just throw on the first thing you come to, pull your hair back out of your face, not put on any makeup, and head out the door. Not anymore! Now I make sure I look “presentable” every time I leave the house. Shoot, I even try to look decent when I am staying home. You never know who is going to come to the door. Now that people in town know about the blog, I feel a little extra pressure to look nice. This is a good thing. I don’t mind having my feet held to the fire.
The funny thing is, several younger people have actually talked to me about them starting their own blog. What!!! That is about the highest compliment you will ever get from someone younger than you. Especially when it comes to computers, technology, or fashion. Haha I sure wish I had someone to talk to that already knew the ins and outs. I am sure there are a lot of things I need to be doing, but I have no idea what they are, or where to even look to find them. My goal at this time is to just continue to grow as a blogger, continue to grow my readers, and continue to grow my writing skills. Hopefully by my first anniversary, some of these goals will have been met.
My outfit today is black & white. I thought you could use a change, from my normal colorful outfits. I am doing a little pattern mixing today. The top is one I bought from Old Navy years ago. I had at first thought I would wear it with a solid pant, but when I pulled it out today, I changed my mind. Here is a black top with white print, and here is a color block top in the same color scheme.
You might have noticed a little change in today’s post. No, not the munchkin, my shoes. I have styled three different pair of shoes. Go ahead and scroll back through the pictures, I’ll wait on you. Dum, dum, dum, dee, dum. Okay, I see your back. I got all three at the QVC outlet stores in town. Yes, that is plural. We have three, since a brand new one just opened last week. Haha The black (similar) and the gray (similar) pair are by Sole Society, and the red (similar) pair is by G.I.L.I. Did you notice how the change in shoe changes the whole look? The pants are a small check pixie pant by Old Navy. Here is a similar pair.
Little Miss Emersyn is styling a gray satchel by Aimee Kestenberg. Notice how it goes with everything, even ice cream pajamas and hot pink tennis shoes. Don’t you just love that blonde hair?
I hope you have enjoyed today’s post. Be sure to check out all the other lovely ladies who are joining me today. And a special thanks to Katherine for wrangling all the cats together for this series.
The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.

Thanks so much for posting items that we can actually afford. Other blogs have such nice outfits but they’re so far out of my price range. That’s probably one of the reasons you have so many followers so fast your ideas are realistic!
I agree completely. I love that everything is affordable and beautiful. I enjoy your blog very much Tania. Thank you. And your little towhead is adorable…she styled that purse like a champ!
You look great and so does your co-model! I very happy for all of your success I hope it continues to grow for you. I love today’s outfit! I’ve said before, but it’s still true, I love that your cloths are cute and not super expensive. I also appreciate you taking time to find similar items in different sizes.
Love this outfit!
I am curious????? When is Miss Emeryson going to start her own
blog and what will she call it? 🙂 I for sure would be a follower.
I actually told Kaye that she needs to start one! Lol!
Haha, I have got the same feling about wanting to do the things you do perfectly! Lovely post to read and what a great thing to work together like that.
Little Miss E is too, too cute! Love the black and white pattern mix. The red shoes really look great with it!
Cute outfit! It looks comfortable also.
I love everything. Ignore the negative compliments. You have really helped me. I feel like.as a women of a certain age,
I was invisable until, I found you. Thank you ?
Your little sidekick is adorable! I am blessed with 2 of those littles 🙂 LOVE the black and white you have put together and my favorite shoes are the strappy black and red sandlals!! Style on Tania!
Love this outfit. The red shoes are “the bomb”. (Do people even say that anymore?)
Love the look today. I have a question. I love wearing spagetti strap blouses but hate having the bra strap showing. I find strapless bras start sagging after a few hours. What is your tip?
Thanks
MJ
I hate all the same things, Mary Jo. I have on a regular bra, that is why I have on a cardigan. Haha But on those times I have to wear something strapless, I will. For my sons wedding last year, I wore one of those silicone kind that sticks to your skin. Believe it or not, it actually worked pretty good. It might have helped that the dress was tight in that area, so I don’t know if it would work on a flowy top for all day. If any of you readers have any suggestions, please share your tips!
Believe it or not, I have had the best luck with Victoria’s Secret strapless bras. They have a silicone ridge in them that helps them stay in place. They come with convertible straps. (Of course, I lost one strap to my favorite bra. Typical for me. LOL) Victoria’s Secret bras tend to run small, IMHO. I wear a cup size larger. Good luck!
You need to go explore the bra department in the stores….,I have bought several racer back style bras with lace inserts or multiple straps, etc. which are MADE to be seen under your tops! Maybe Tania could show some off soon!
I am glad I finally figured out who you were!!! You pop up on my feed all of the time. I absolutely love your style, and want all of your clothes!! I have multiple photos of you saved to refer to when I go shopping, and have passed you on to some style clubs to help dress me! Thanks for sharing.
Diane, I looked at your comment, but I didn’t read it correctly. I read, “I am glad YOU finally figured out who YOU were” I was sooooo confused.LOL! Welcome to the mad house. Hahaha!
I love all your different styles. And that they are for real ladies. Also love that you aren’t afraid to express your faith.
