Best Volumizing Sprays, Mousses & More for Fuller Looking Hair
One of the most asked-about questions I get is about my hair. Like every other woman I know over 50, I’m looking for ways to keep mine looking thick. If your fine or thin hair is falling flat no matter what you do, it might be time to shake up your styling routine.
If you’re blow-drying, air-drying, or just praying for bounce, the right volumizing products can seriously lift your hair and your mood. From sprays that give texture without the sticky residue to mousses that plump each strand, I’m sharing what I use, as well as highly recommended products from others. Hey, we’re all out here together!
And don’t worry, I looked for lightweight formulas, good-for-you ingredients, and hold that lasts through humidity, concerts, and everything in between.
My Daughter’s Choice

Before I get into the sprays and mousses, I wanted to share what I’ve bought for over a year for my daughter. Her hair started thinning, likely due to stress, and we tried numerous shampoos and leave-in treatments. However, Nutrafol was the one that worked for her. She uses the Nutrafol Women, but it is also available in Nutrafol Women’s Balance for women over 45+, and Nutrafol postpartum. Currently, there is a $50 off a
3-month supply promotion, making it a great time to try it.

John Frieda Volume Lift Air Whipped Foam
Another big name in the hair game, lol. This budget-friendly mousse is a standout. It uses “Air-Silk Technology” to build volume without making your hair stiff or sticky. I’m not sure what that is, but the reviews are great and it’s available at a good price.

CHI Volume Booster Liquid Bodifying Glaze
This isn’t your typical mousse. It’s a liquid glaze that gives your hair that full, bouncy look while adding body and texture. If you love a good blowout, this one delivers. I’ve been using CHI products for a while now, and they always do well.

3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.

😊 thanks for putting this all together. there’s so many excellent options.
I’ve tried a couple of these. I’ve got a couple in my cart. Still trying to find one I truly like.
I am 65 and my hair has gotten noticeably thinner especially at the crown . My go to products are the Color Wow products. I usually only have to wash my hair once or twice a week since it’s dry . I use Kitsch dry shampoo and it helps to keep it clean and as the week goes on my hair looks thicker the more dirty it gets. I use a Dyson blow dryer with attachments to blow dry my hair and a curling iron to give it some curl . I love your hair by the way . You should post how you blow dry yours . Thanks
😀 helpful, thank you I was the matrix spray called wonder boost
😊 Love R&Co products, but wish they would dial back the fragrance. Great ideas!
