ARE YOU SPECIAL

There are times in our lives when we feel special. Times when we have accomplished a goal or felt loved. Then there are those times when we feel ordinary and unnoticed, like one of the crowd.

When I married Joe, I felt special. I felt loved and appreciated. Hundreds of people get married every day, so was I really that special? I hope to Joe I was. The same can be said about having my children, I felt special, but there are hundreds of children born daily. Was I really that special?

The Lord thinks I am special. He made me, I am one of a kind. He loves me no matter what I do. Because He loves me does not mean that He is always approving.

Guess who does not think I am special? Satan does not care about me in the least. He does not want me to dream. He does not want me to prosper. He does not want me to have faith and trust. He does everything in his power to instill doubt and worry. Satan creates problems, he throws you curveballs when you are sailing along. To Satan I am not special, and neither are you. Being rich or famous does not protect you from his grasp. Oprah has problems, the Royal Family has problems, and you can pick from a huge number of movie stars that have problems. Satan does not think they are special in any way and I am sure he finds delight in bringing them to their knees. Satan is the thief in the night, he comes with lies and deceptions. He comes to rob you of your joy.

The Lord finds delight when you come to Him on your knees, but in praise. He finds delight when you come to Him in trouble because you trust in Him. He finds delight when you come to Him! He gives you what you need. Your talents and gifts are different than mine, but they are special. In Psalm 17, “I am the apple of His eye.” In Deuteronomy 7:6, he tells me that I am “His treasured possession.”

I am special to the Lord but I know that does not mean I won’t have troubles, worries, or heartache. But I do know that He will never leave or forsake me and that He will be with me no matter what.

We have a choice. We can live each day with someone who doesn’t care for us, doesn’t love us, and thinks we are nothing special, or we can live with the Lord. The one who created us in His own image, that will never forsake us, and thinks we are special.

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Thank you for using your platform to serve God. Your Sunday posts are so inspirational. Isn’t it wonderful to know that no matter what, God is with us, loving us, never forsaking us??!!! As I grow older, my faith grows stronger. God has placed so many wonderful people in my life. My husband is my greatest blessing. Together, we have raised 2 wonderful children and they have given us the pleasure of becoming grandparents to 3 of the sweetest loves of our lives..our grandchildren.
