ARE YOU ON A RUNAWAY HORSE

Rachel warmed up her horse and then got ready to start the cross country portion of the show. There was already a girl on the course, so as soon as that girl finished, Rachel would start. All at once, we look up and the other girl’s horse was flying toward us. The horse had thrown the girl (she was not hurt), got spooked, and was running as hard as it could back to the barn and safety.
Thankfully the girl was alright, and so was the horse. Rachel finished her ride, and I was glad to have her cross the finish line all in one piece. The runaway horse had spooked me, and I am sure that Rachel was also frightened. But, on the way home I got to thinking about how life can be the same way.
Life starts easily enough where all you have to do is follow a few rules and show how well you are trained. And, as you get older, the levels of difficulty and danger increases. It doesn’t take long before we have to make decisions that affect our lives and the lives around us.
Do you drive slowly until you are out of sight and then see how fast you can go? Are you dating someone that you knows should be “off limits” but you can’t help yourself? Are you drinking in excess or taking drugs? Are you living a lie?
How do things get so out of control so fast? It seems that we can be galloping along and everything is going great. Then, the next thing we know, things are starting to get bumpy, and we are being thrown head first to the ground. Life feels like the runaway horse, and we can’t seem to reign it back in.
There are hope and light at the end of the tunnel. If we just trust in God, He can use our circumstances for good. He can change our lives, our thoughts, and our circumstances, but we have to allow Him in our lives first.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Even though life might throw you for a loop, and it feels like everything is out of control, there is hope. Just like the runaway horse calmed down enough to be caught, your runaway life can calm down too. Pull in the reigns, and bring everything to a stop so that you can hop off. Then, be sure to thank the Lord for the ride and the lessons learned on the journey.
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Have A Blessed Day!
So, what did you wear to the horse show? I am going to a polo match and need an idea as to what to wear.
This was what I wore for the first part, and then I changed into something else for the next part. I have never been to a polo match so I would probably ask someone who has been before. Or, try Pinterest and see what you can find there.
What a beautiful post. I did not get to read it yesterday, as my “runaway horse” was att full speed. My life is seriously overwhelming right now, but I have not lost hope. My mom is very sick, my 15 1/2 year old pup (my soulmate) was recently diagnosed with renal failure and has to get sub q fluid injections daily at home, I am about finally ruined, my brother is a heroin addict, and I am trying to work two part time jobs and raise my sweet 9 year old daughter who has about two hours of homework a night. I never thought I would have all of this going on at once, but I do. It is hard, and most days I want to give up. Your post is inspiring. Thank you. ??????
Thank you Tania.
Your encouragement is timely, helpful and appreciated!

Thanks Tania, such a great analogy and message. We are being renewed daily if we know our Savior!
God bless a
Thank you! I love your Sunday words! What a treat to get to watch your niece perform! I’d have loved that. All of us have those times when it feels like our life is running away from us and w/o God, I couldn’t make it!
It was a treat to get to watch her. I hope you enjoyed the post.
Your post today was fantastic! I also read the one at the bottom titled Who knows what’s good or what’s bad. I had to call my brother and read that to him. We could relate to that story. Thanks for your blog.
I am glad that the post you shared the post with your brother. I hope that the Lord is speaking to you through this post.
