50 IS NOT OLD | ANKLE BOOTS AND JEANS | FASHION OVER 40Good morning from the hills of Virginia. I am trying to fight off Joe’s “Man Flu” and so far all it has become is a “Woman’s Cold” and I am crossing my fingers that is stays that way. I was supposed to have had my hair “done” yesterday and I need a cut and color in the worst way. But, I knew that my face would be right in my hairdresser’s face when she was washing and rinsing my hair so I called her and asked her if she wanted to switch me around with someone. She jumped on that and called me back with a new appointment. If I make her sick then she couldn’t work and make money. People really need to think about going outside the house when they are sick.50 IS NOT OLD | ANKLE BOOTS AND JEANS | FASHION OVER 40 I didn’t even go to church on Sunday and that was something that I hated missing. But, I knew that I would have been shaking peoples hands and I am coughing also. No one wants to get sick because I was thinking only of myself. So, I stayed home and just listened to a sermon on a podcast instead. Wouldn’t you know it, the one Sunday that I miss and they decided to hand out t-shirts to everyone who was there? Dang, it! Oh well, maybe they will hand out the shirts next Sunday to the ones that weren’t able to attend this past week. They might have something on them like this………..50 IS NOT OLD | ANKLE BOOTS AND JEANS | FASHION OVER 40Today I am going shopping in my closet. I think that the only thing that I have on that is new would be my earrings and I’ll tell you about them in the next photo. Everything else that I have on is things that I have purchased over the past couple of years. The wine/burgundy/maroon sweater with some embellishments down the sleeve is one that I bought from Cato Fashions at least 2 years ago. It doesn’t matter where it is from, it is the color that I was wanting to wear. This color is perfect for fall and as you can see in the pictures, it matches the colors of the leaves.

50 IS NOT OLD | ANKLE BOOTS AND JEANS | FASHION OVER 40Now, for those earrings. They are called the Camden and I was shocked when I got them. They were part of a kit that I earned and it was a good thing that I earned them because I probably would have never ordered them by looking online. They appeared a much brighter green online than they are in person. I think that they look fabulous with this olive green waterfall vest. (Also an old purchase from Cato’s) I am having to guess what bracelets that I have on in this look. Lol! I think it was the Lelani, the Ramona, and the Becca. Olive is a huge trend this fall and a vest or jacket is an easy way to style this color.

50 IS NOT OLD | ANKLE BOOTS AND JEANS | FASHION OVER 40These jeans are old also. They are a pair of bootcut jeans from Old Navy. I like a bootcut or a straight leg especially in the fall so that they can go over the tops of my boots. This is a dark rinse pair which is a little dressier than the lighter rinse ones. I will live in jeans form now until mid-spring. Jeans are my go-to and my preferred pant of choice in the fall and winter months. I love wearing them with boots.50 IS NOT OLD | ANKLE BOOTS AND JEANS | FASHION OVER 40 This fawn colored pair of ankle boots is from Old Navy also. I love this neutral color and I wear this pair a lot because the color goes with so many things. When I am in doubt as to what shoe to wear, these are the ones that I reach for. This pair is a couple of years old but Old Navy still has several styles and colors to choose from. I was surprised at how well these boots have held up since they are so affordable.

50 IS NOT OLD | ANKLE BOOTS AND JEANS | FASHION OVER 40I have been using the new Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid for a month now and I love how it feels on my skin. It is a lightweight tinted liquid that is not a foundation or a cc cream. This product is actually “GOOD” for your skin. Rodan + Fields is not going to launch a product that will not be of a benefit to you. It might look and act like makeup but it is actually protecting and perfecting your skin. If you are interested in trying this product then let me know. I am going to be placing a bulk order and “I” will be paying the shipping for you. There are a couple of choices available. The price of the product by itself will be 59.00 plus tax. Or, if you are interested in the product PLUS the Radiant Defense tapered Brush that comes with its own case, then the price would be 93.00 plus tax. Or, maybe you want to try both of the newest launched products which are Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid and the Active Hydration Body Replenish. To get both of those products, the cost would be 118.00 plus tax. This is a perfect way to try the latest products without the added commitment to become my Preferred Customer. Although, once you try these products, you will understand why I love them so much!

Pretty sure I saw a top and vest that were like that in Cato on Sunday. Still trendy and you didn’t have to go shopping. I like it !

  10. This outfit is on point. I see you broke out that lovely handbag!! I love the Autumn and the colors, there’s just something so wonderful about it. I’m looking for a few pair of booties myself. I usually will buy black, but I’m thinking of a taupe color also. I’m the same when it comes to jeans. I love them and since you turned me on to Old Navy Rockstar leggings that’s all I wear. So comfortable that I will NEVER buy jeans without spandex in them!!???

  16. You are quite right about jeans being a do to item from autumn to spring and as soon as the weather is warm enough I return to crops and dresses. Although I get bored with jeans I do like to find a nice top to wear and there are plenty out there in the shops just now. Hope you feel better soon. Jill x

    1. Jill, the possibilities are endless with jeans. That is the great thing about them.
