A VACATION LOOK IN NEUTRALS
Have any of you ever booked a rental home off of Vrbo? I have never done that before, and I am having some reservations about booking something quite expensive. I will be traveling to Nashville, Tennessee in September for a Convention, and this year, I will need a place that sleeps, eight women. I am excited to rent a house so that we can all be under the same roof instead of being in individual hotel rooms. But I am nervous at the same time. HELP!
I found a house that is drop dead gorgeous. This house has plenty of bedrooms, and each one of them has its own bath. Plus, it is an older remodeled house that features 15ft ceilings. And, the cherry on top is the fact that it is only 1 mile from the convention center where we will be going each day. Are you wondering what my issue is? The problem is that the owner has only been with Vrbo since 2019 and there aren’t any reviews on the property. I called Vrbo and asked about the property, and they assured me that since I was going to book through their website, I would be backed by the guarantee. If anything is not as represented on the site, then they will refund my money. That sounds good, but I would be looking for a place to stay (along with seven other women) if the home is a bust. Anyone have an extra four bedrooms in the Nashville area if this doesn’t work out. Lol!!! I promise that I don’t snore. Hahaha
This look is all about being relaxed. I can see wearing this outfit for a night out while you are on vacation. I love the neutral colors through the entire look, and the top is so oversized and comfortable looking. I bought this v-neck blouson top about a month ago at Versona (link), and I loved the style. But, in all honesty, I ended up taking it back to the store because I was afraid that the cropped style was too short for me. I am long waisted, and I thought that the top needed to be about 3 or 4 inches longer for me to feel comfortable. I am trying to do better about making sure that I love an item before I purchase it, and that is a hard lesson for me to learn. I will buy if I am in “like” instead of love, and then I end up with a ton of things that I don’t want to wear. Hence the reason that I am still having my Facebook online sale to clear out my closet.
I do “love” my large rattan earrings with the tassels. I can’t remember where I bought them, but if I ever remember, I’ll be sure to let you know. Lol! The Stormy monogrammed necklace and the Felicity wooden circle necklace are perfect for this outfit. They are like shake and bake; they are better together. Lol! You have seen me wear these set of gold bracelets so much that you can probably tell me their names. Lol! But, just in case you have forgotten, here they are. I am wearing, the Ramona with cream marbled beads and a gold bar, a bracelet of white volcanic rock and matte gold beads from the Stacia set, the Lelani matte gold link, and the Lucille that has marbled cream circles encased in hammered gold.
This is the look that you get when the camera is getting ready to take your picture, and you drop your clutch. Lol! I hate that I had to return these linen pants. I loved the sailor style pants with the buttons that run down the side, but these are too short for me, even if I wear flats. Bummer! Sailor style pants are pretty popular right now, and I have a navy pair that should be here in a few days, so I am crossing my fingers that they will fit and be long enough.
Last night I got the best text message. It was from one of my preferred customers and she sent me her before and after photos. She has been a customer for a year and her photos show how well the products worked for her. I was thrilled and so was she!!! It shows what consistency and time will do for you.

Love the neutrals on you but agree I am long waisted too and don’t like a short top on me. Go ahead and book through VRBO. I don’t think you will be disappointed. As an owner of two vacation properties,one I rent through VRBO ,I think you and your friends will be very happy and the house and location sound perfect for your group! Most of us VRBO owners work very hard to provide a great vacation for our guests. And if you like it ..you could be their first review!

Love the outfit but understand about the length. I’m not too keen on shirts that are too short. I end up tugging and pulling the entire time I’m wearing them. As for VRBO, I rent from them just about every summer for vacations and will be going again in a month to the beach. I’ve never been disappointed and you can usually find a really good deal.

My husband and I have rented through VRBO multiple times. We have rented smaller homes for just the two of us and larger homes for our kids and their spouse’s to join us. We have had great luck with it, but we always look at the ratings and read the reviews carefully. We are picky about a place being clean so this is one of the top things we look for in the comments. If we see any negative comments about cleanliness we move on to the next home on the list.
I haven’t ever commented on your blog, but I really enjoy seeing the outfits you put together. I don’t want to dress like a teenager, but I also don’t want to dress too maturely for my age. You do a wonderful job at pulling clothes together for this “in between” age group…and your honesty with your stories is refreshing and makes me smile!
We have used VRBO 3 times. Twice to Mrytle Beach and once to a lake house two hrs away. Very pleased.
A friend uses vrbo to travel including booking a place in Ireland for 6 people but relies on reviews. I like the idea of asking someone to “drive by” for you.
We have rented thru VRBO twice. Never a problem. Do you know anyone in Nashville (or any of the other ladies) that could possibly do a drive-by of the property?!?

Even though you returned these particular pieces, I do love the look on you. So chic & classy. You’ll find other items in your closet that you can put together to get this same neutral look. Okay, since it’s you, this may be a challenging task because you love color. LOL. Funny coincidence, before I read your post today I was putting together a neutral outfit to wear to lunch with my gal pals. Hey – it’s all the rage. I am also trying to purchase items I truly love and not just like. Excellent point and food for thought.
We have rented vacation homes many times from Verbo. In fact we have a condo booked at a resort next week in Hilton Head S.C. We have never been disappointed. What we were promised was what we got. Does the owner live in that area. Seems to be a good thing if a problem arises. I hope you have a good experience too. Outfit looks vacay ready. Always enjoy your blog.
