A SWEATER MINI TRY ON HAUL
I’ve been going over the survey and getting all of the information together. I’ll share all of that with you tomorrow, but some of the comments were so funny. Someone put (I can’t see who says what, so don’t be afraid to write something down) that I needed to get a manicure and pedicure more often. LOL! You will be happy to know that I’m going to have my nails done Friday, and I got a pedicure last week so I should be all set.
I’m just as happy as you that I’m back to getting my nails done regularly. My nail tech got COVID, not once, but twice in a month’s time. She isn’t sure how that happened, but they think she might have gotten two different strands. Then, her mother and father caught it and she was their caretaker. My nails were in such horrible shape by the time that she finally came back to work that I could have kissed her when I walked in the door. Don’t worry, I didn’t, and we both always wear a mask.
A lot of you mentioned doing makeup and hair tutorials as something you would like to see, while others said that you didn’t like those kinds of posts. The best advice that I can give everyone is…read what you like, comment often, and scroll past anything that doesn’t interest you. That’s how I do when I’m on Facebook, Instagram, and other blogs, especially since none of us are going to like the same things. We are all different, and I’m so glad since it would be a boring world if we were all the same.
This post is a mini try-on haul consisting of two cream/white/ivory sweaters and a pair of flare jeans. The post was supposed to have one more sweater, but I ran out of time, so I narrowed it down to the two that were the same color. The first sweater is this windowpane cowl neck sweater, and I’ll let you know that I was pretty amazed at the quality of the sweater. It is a nice weight, and the material is like a fine gauge sweater, but it does run a tiny bit large.
I ordered a medium in the sweater, and I thought it fit great. I saw that some complained that the arms were too long, but they were fine for me. I do have fairly long arms though, so take that into consideration. If the arms are too long, you can scrunch them up or cuff them. For those who are picky about seams and patterns, notice that the lines all match up at the seams. That is something you usually see on more expensive items.
I added a large chunky necklace to my look. I like wearing longer necklaces with sweaters, especially if they are cowl necks. What I love about this necklace is the fact that it has multiple chains, and they are of different sizes and metals. What I don’t like about the necklace is that it is expensive. I feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth from it since I wear it so much.
Because of the cowl neck on the sweater, I didn’t want to add big hoops or earrings that dangle. Instead, I wanted to add a small pair of studs to give me a polished look, but not to compete with the cowl neck.
Now, for the second sweater/shirt of today’s try-on haul. This casual look is soft, comfortable, and super cute. I love how it looked with my flare jeans and boots. Plus, it has POCKETS! Hahaha!
The windowpane sweater is dressier than this fuzzy sherpa sweatshirt, but this sherpa shirt is softer. This sherpa sweatshirt is one that you won’t want to take off. I might have worn this sweatshirt two days in a row, but as my granddaughter tells me, “don’t judge me.” Lol! The same fuzzy sherpa on the outside is on the inside and in the pockets. I’m wearing a medium, and it is plenty big enough for me.
Look at how soft and fuzzy this sherpa sweatshirt is! If you order this, you’ll understand why I wore it two days in a row. If you look closely, you can see my Elisa monogrammed gold vermeil necklace. It has TANIA monogrammed on it and I like how it sits in the V of necklines.
These dark wash flare jeans fit me fabulously, and they may be my new favorite pair. Lol! I only have to say one word, and you will understand why…SPANX! We all know SPANX as the undergarment company, but they have expanded into the clothing arena, and I am so happy they did. I don’t like to be compressed, so their undergarments haven’t been a product that I used. However, I swear by their Bra-llelujah, and it is the only bra I wear now.
The faux-leather leggings were the first clothing item I tried, and I like them, but they also compress you. I’ve found that I need to size up in clothing from SPANX to keep from them being too tight, so I am wearing a large in these jeans, and they fit like a glove.
These jeans look great, fit great, and have just the right amount of stretch to them. SPANX products are of excellent quality, but they aren’t cheap. They fall under the category; you get what you pay for. I still like getting a good deal, so I make sure to check out the sales page too. Of course, sizes are limited, but you might be able to find something and save a lot of money.
I love pointy toe shoes because they elongate your legs and make them look so long. These are a pair of chunky heel boots that I bought recently, and I love the soft neutral color. Because of all of the holiday sales, these boots are limited in size. Unfortunately, I can’t control inventory in stores, and it is only going to be worse when they start converting over to spring apparel. The good news…when you can find items in stock, they are usually at a great price.

Love both these looks! Fabulous, put together and they look cozy. Plus, always like to see you in boots.
You wear them well.
You look great! 🙂
I love the window pane sweater. It looks great on you!
Missed taking your survey so just want to say thanks for all the inspiration. I enjoy all your posts. My favorite was the navy blue dress that you styled for four seasons with the various jackets and accessories, but I paged through a lot of older posts when first starting, so don’t know if this was 2021 or earlier.
I love both of these sweaters! White and off white look good with my coloring but I rarely wear in sweaters because of makeup transfer on collars. Do you have secrets for that problem? You look great in both of them!!
First, I’m glad you have a sense of humor over what people comment to you.
Both of these sweaters look way better on you than the do on the Amazon models. I wouldn’t have given them a second look on Amazon but I’m considering them after seeing them on you.
Love both of these!
I love the softness of sherpa! Both outfits look great. BTW, just saw that the Chico’s faux fur vest is on sale for $ 69.99. Lowest price I’ve seen so far.
