A Personalized Message from God
Do you have personalized license plates? You know the kind—those custom tags with up to seven or eight characters that people carefully choose to make a statement. I remember watching an episode of Empty Nest where Charlie got a personalized plate that read CLOVER. He meant it to stand for Sea Lover, but everyone just saw clover, as in the four-leaf variety. That mix-up still makes me laugh!
Whenever I see personalized plates, I try to decipher them. Some are obvious, while others leave me stumped. A friend once told me he never understood why people paid extra for custom tags when every plate was already unique. “I’m the only one with this tag,” he said, “so it’s already personalized.”
I have to admit, he had a point.
A Personalized Start to My Day
The other night, I went to bed frustrated, replaying a situation over and over in my mind. You know, the kind—where no matter how much you turn it around, it still doesn’t sit right.
But when I woke up the next morning, my first thought wasn’t about the problem. Instead, the words that immediately came to mind were:
“This is the day that the Lord has made!”
I can’t tell you how much that changed my outlook. My heart felt lighter, and I had a spring in my step before I even got out of bed. The situation hadn’t changed, but my attitude had.
The Lord made this day for me, and I wasn’t about to let something outside of my control ruin it.
A Personalized Gift from God
All day long, I kept repeating, “This is the day that the Lord has made.” And the more I thought about it, the more I realized—this wasn’t just any day. This day was personalized for me.
God, who knows every thought in my heart, every hair on my head, and who formed me in my mother’s womb, had created this very day just for me.
I opened my eyes to a beautiful snow-covered yard, and as I looked outside, I watched a bird gracefully land in a tree across the street. It was as if God was reminding me that He is always in control, no matter what is happening around me.
Later that morning, the situation that had caused me so much stress the night before simply disappeared. I received a heartfelt apology, but the truth was, in my heart, I had already let it go. A petty argument wasn’t worth dwelling on when I realized that God had designed this day with me in mind.
Don’t Take the Days for Granted
I’ll be honest—I’ve taken too many days for granted. But the truth is, each day is a gift. They are not guaranteed, and just opening our eyes in the morning is a reason to thank the Lord.
Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Tomorrow morning, when you wake up, remember this: God made that day for you. It’s a personalized gift, handcrafted by the One who loves you more than you can imagine. How will you choose to embrace it?
To God Goes The Glory!
Have A Blessed Day!
Let’s End with a Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of today. Too often, I let frustrations and worries cloud my view, but today, I want to rejoice in the fact that You made this day just for me. Help me to trust that You are in control, to find joy in the little things, and to never take another day for granted. May I walk through this day with gratitude, peace, and faith in You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

I really needed this reminder. Thank you.
Amen this is the day that Jehovah God has made. Thank you, Jehovah through his beloved son Jesus Christ thank you for a beautiful message Tania
Our young DIL has been battling a terminal cancer for almost 5 years now. The one thing I’ve learned from our son is that we have to live one day at a time. Day by day. And we remember that God generously GIVES us each day. This is the day that the Lord has made.
Vickie, I am so sorry to hear about your DIL. I have said a prayer for her and your family. Your son has the right attitude, and we should all learn to live one day at a time since that is all we are promised.
I wonder why some people can get over things quickly while others just can’t seem to forget. “casting all your care upon Him because He cares for you” Thank you for the Sunday post!
Thank you, Jesus! Amen
You never fail to give us thought provoking messages. A good attitude can definitely change your day.
All too often I let situations that I have no control over consume and ruin my day. Thank you for this reminder that everyday is a gift and to embrace gratitude. As the old Spiritual song says “He’s got the whole world in His hands”!
Tania,
Thank you for this beautiful reminder. I am guilty of taking time for granted. Thank you for reminding me that none of it is guaranteed. Every day is a gift! May God bless you for all you do!
Taking everyday for granted is exactly the problem.
oh, yes! Thank you, Tania. This exactly happened to me this week. I prayed all day and half the night over a trouble, and the next morning I awoke feeling the Lord had taken care of me. A spring in my step, and feeling happy.
I love how honest you are, how your walk with Jesus is real and how you share those day to day moments. Thank you! And…to God be the glory!🥰
