A MONTH OF THANKSGIVING
I try to be a thankful person, I think that thankful people are so much happier. They take stock of their lives and are so appreciative of everything that they have been given instead of worrying about what they are lacking. If I am eating a hamburger that is something to be thankful for. There are people throughout the world who do not have food to eat.
Last week my sister told me about something cool they did at her church youth group. When the kids came together for church, they told them they were going to serve them food. They sat a few kids at tables, but the majority, around 40, sat on the floor. The kids at the tables represented the developed parts of the world and were served fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans etc. But what about the other kids who sat on the floor? Those kids? They represented the poorest of the poor, and received only a small bit of rice and daal. It was VERY impactful. My sister said her daughter has been praying for those kids ever since, and her church is getting the kids together to pack food boxes for delivery on Thanksgiving.
Ephesians 5:20 – “giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Psalm 100:4 – “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
Psalm 95:2 – “Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!”
Things that we take for granted is something that parts of the world do not have. Getting up to a warm house, turning on the electricity with the flip of a light switch, flushing the toilet with running water by pushing a lever, or even having your cup of coffee while reading your favorite blogger.
Stop and take a look around you for just a few moments. In your prayers be sure to do a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord and then say an intervention prayer for those who are less fortunate.
Have A Blessed Day!

This is a beautiful reminder. Thank you for reminding us the little things are really big things to be thankful for.
As always your Sunday post hit the nail on the head. Thanks so much. I was reminded of you this morning at church when the City of Hope children’s choir sang. They are from Tanzania but are living in Grundy, VA for school at the Mountain Mission School. It was a treat and only the second time, I’ve ever heard of Grundy, VA.LOL
Jan, I am so glad that you got to hear the children’s choir. They are really fabulous. The Mt. Mission School is very inspirational and watching the children there is amazing.
Thank you.
Hi, Sweet Girl! Thank you for being my fav-o-rite fashion blogger! LOL!!! I did look around whenever you mentioned my coffee while reading your blog.
Hope you and your Momma have safe and happy travels! ?
I enjoy your devotions and share them on my church Facebook page. I hope this is ok with you. Happy Sunday, I hope it is filled with joy and blessings.
Rhonda, I am honored that you share my posts.
Thank you Lord. I love you and praise your holy name.
I was so moved by this event for your sister’s youth group. I think that some adults need to experience this same learning experience. So many take what they have for granted, we could all grow from reading this and doing ourselves.
You are right. We have SO much to be thankful for! Thank you for this reminder!
What a great reminder to be thankful. I volunteer for a reading program that is for first thru third grade at risk children. Many of them, having so little, come to the program “thankful” for what they do have, school and friends. I always leave feeling blessed for what I have and what maybe I can give.
Thanks for sharing, Sandy. I agree with you that nothing makes you feel more blessed than helping others.
