A CASUAL 4TH OF JULY

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope everyone has some plans for today and maybe they will end with a BANG!!! I will be spending the day swimming in the pool and possibly having a cookout in the backyard. There is nothing better than spending time with the family every opportunity that I have. Today’s post will be short, I am having fun and you have plans also I am sure. Yesterday we took all 5 grandchildren to try and get some pictures of them together. When the ages range from 10 months to almost 10 years you can imagine the chances of getting a good picture of ALL of them at once. I can at least hope, can’t I? Lol! This tye-dye looking top is by Caslon and it is 100% cotton. That is perfect for summer, cotton is a breathable material or at least that is what all the cotton commercials say. This is a slouchy, casual, top and perfect for a cookout or a picnic. This has dolman sleeves, a  banded hem, and cuffs for a small detail design. I am actually surprised that the One Nation earrings haven’t sold out already. When these were first added to the specials tab I went immediately and ordered them because I was afraid they wouldn’t last. My bracelets are the Candy, the Opal, and the Sequoia. The Reece necklace has a long white tassel on a gold disc and it is almost 34″ long. I will sometimes where this doubled so that it isn’t as long.  Adding a touch of the 4th doesn’t have to be overboard. I simply tied this festive scarf with red and blue stars onto my bamboo purse. Accessories can really make an outfit and take it from fine to fabulous. Just look at your outfit as you get ready to walk out the door and decide if you need to add something extra.

I chose to wear linen pants for the coolness factor. Linen is one of my favorite summertime materials. This pair of wide-leg white linen pants is a couple of years old. I bought them at Old Navy and they are still available online, click here. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family!!! I tried to get a pic with all of the kids and it was an epic fail. Emersyn was not having it and Jett was mad at having to leave the bridge that he was walking on. Notice the scowl on Jetts face (far left) and the death grip I have on the screaming Emersyn.
