50 IS NOT OLD | LONG FLORAL MAXI DRESS FOR SPRING | FASHION OVER 40March is almost at an end and I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. It only seems like yesterday that I was trying to think of some resolutions or goals for myself. I have done well with some and then there are others that haven’t quite stuck with me. Of course, the great thing is that we can still make those adjustments if we just will. I sat outside on my patio yesterday afternoon and enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather. It was so windy that I was thankful that my name wasn’t Dorothy and that I didn’t live in Kansas! Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | LONG FLORAL MAXI DRESS FOR SPRING | FASHION OVER 40It has been ages since I tried to sit outside and write my blog so I had forgotten how aggravating my white cat can be. She wants to constantly rub on your legs which wouldn’t be so bad except she sheds like crazy. I tried petting her to see if that was hat she was wanting. Then, I tried bribing her with food (that usually works for Joe) but that didn’t do the trick either. Then, I put my legs up in another chair across from me but she just jumped up in the chair. Finally, I just gave up and she won. Doesn’t that remind you of the way your kids were when they were little? One track minds and the never give up attitude. Lol!!!50 IS NOT OLD | LONG FLORAL MAXI DRESS FOR SPRING | FASHION OVER 40How cute is this little maxi sundress??? This Entro dress was one that I bought last year at a local boutique in town. It is perfect for this year since floral are all the rage! The dress actually has spaghetti straps (see here) so I added the long cardigan for a little extra warmth. I am not quite ready to be wearing spaghetti straps yet, I am too white and I haven’t been applying my sunless tanner consistently yet. This dress is made with alternating panels and it reminds me of the Gunne Sax dresses that I wore in the 70’s. Do you remember those? The pattern is somewhat similar. There are a few Entro maxi dresses on Amazon and I have linked to a couple that I liked below. If you don’t see one here just check out the websites because there are tons of floral dresses in the stores right now.

50 IS NOT OLD | LONG FLORAL MAXI DRESS FOR SPRING | FASHION OVER 40If I am wearing navy then my go-to jewelry is normally gold. It could be because blue and gold are the colors of the high school here in town or it could be because the gold just pops off of the navy. The Dakota earrings were not for the faint of heart. This huge 4″ gold metallic leather earrings really bring attention to your face. Unfortunately, they are also sold out but I didn’t see them on the retiring list so maybe they will be restocking these later. The shorter gold tooth necklace is the Vivi. This is in low stock but is still available right now. I wear this necklace a lot because it fits in the void left by a lot of v-neck tops. The long half-moon necklace was one that was part of a Plunder Posse one month. The Posse is a subscription service that ships out once a month from 1 to 3 different items for the cost of 25.00 and that includes shipping and taxes. There are no enrollment or cancellation fees. 50 IS NOT OLD | LONG FLORAL MAXI DRESS FOR SPRING | FASHION OVER 40There are a lot of colors on this dress so I could have picked from a wide range of colors when it came to adding a cardigan. I actually had this same cardigan in a bronze on first but ended up wearing the blue one instead. This long cardigan is by Lisa Rinna and I see that it comes in Olive, Brick, or Gray. These are more toward the fall colors and she has the same style cardigan in spring colors of lavender, very light gray/cream, and medium gray. 50 IS NOT OLD | LONG FLORAL MAXI DRESS FOR SPRING | FASHION OVER 40I am so glad that so many of you are enjoying all of the dress looks. 1. You look lovely in this outfit. I am a fan of maxi dreses and this is the perfect time of the year to wear them. I wore a white and lacy Gunne Sax maxi dress to one of my proms with my now husband. I love how fashion sparks good memories just as music does. Looking forward to tomorrow’s dress.

    • Oh my gosh…..I also wore a white Gunne Sax dress to my prom with my now husband too!! I agree ….fashion and music trigger such great memories!

You are right about how fashions will spark memories! Love that!!!

Mary, it is funny because I noticed them today in the pictures also. Lol!!!

  2. Glad you could finally enjoy the weather. Hope it doesn’t rain for Easter! I love your dress and could wear it for Easter! It definitely reminds me of the dresses I wore in high school! Best…Kathy

  3. Oh wow…I Love this dress…even though I am out of my comfort zone to wear spaghetti straps…I love the panels in the dress and never thought to put a longer cardigan with my long skirts or dresses. I will now be thinking how I can do that for Sunday as it’s suppose to be 16 degrees here Easter Sunday morning so I doubt I will be able to get sandals or anything sleeveless out. May still be dressing in my winter clothes 🙁

Sandy, I know that a lot of women would be uncomfortable with spaghetti straps. That is why I wanted to show that they are still wearable. A cardigan or sweater over them looks fabulous and you can even wear a top under them for coverage.

    • Oh my…I didn’t realize a shirt under spaghetti straps was “ok”…figured it would look like I wasn’t brave enough to wear it without…LOL. That’s why following you is helping to see different ways to style clothes!

  4. Love the colors in the dress! Your teeth are so white. Do you use a teeth whitener? And I agree with Mary, those lashes!

    • Tania Reply

Debbie, the dress is one of my favorites and Joe kept complimenting me all day long. You have got to love it when that happens. No, I am not using any teeth whiteners right now but I need to. You know where the lashes come from. Lol!!! Gotta love Lash Boost!

  5. Gorgeous!! I also remember Gunne Sax dresses and always thought they looked so sweet and romantic. I love the longer cardigan with yours. The colors are so pretty in the dress.

  6. Very nice look on you. It makes you seem taller. The colors are pretty too. I love maxi dresses but not too fond of florals. However that is a nice pattern. And the cardigan puts it all together nicely. Have pleasant Easter weekend. 😊🌷

Johnna, I am not a big fan of florals either. In fact, when I was filling out my Trunk Club enrollment I said to NOT ship me anything with florals. Lol!

That looks fantastic on you Tania! Love the colors and enjoying the dress week. Have a blessed Easter!

  9. I remember the dresses from the 70’s!! That is a very pretty dress! Love Lisa Rinna & have many of her cardigans & dusters. Just purchased her new lavender one EARLY Friday, yesterday morning!!
