BLACK WITH A POP OF COLOR
By the time you reach the age of 50 you should have learned how to be flexible. I can go with the flow in most situations and this weekend is one example. I loved the idea of being pampered with someone doing my hair and makeup, something that I am not used to letting others do for me.
When we arrived in Columbia, SC on Saturday night we went out for a nice dinner at the Oak Table. It was a wonderful time eating with a lot of the ladies I met in Las Vegas, plus one more that I had never met. We ate and then just sat around talking and laughing. The busboy kept coming by picking up imaginary pieces of lint and straightening napkins. I think he was wanting us to leave. ? It was getting late, but the restaurant still had lots of people still eating, so I’m not sure why he wanted us to leave. On Sunday we met up with about 30-40 other Rodan and Fields consultants and enjoyed a wonderful business presentation along with a question and answer session about ourselves. I talked about you gurls and how you have become a huge part of my life.
This post is all because of you. You asked for me to do a series using black since some of you wear a lot of black in your workplace. I don’t own a huge amount of black, so this is a stretch for me. This would be a typical way I would wear black, usually I would add a pop of color to my outfit. This red crop blazer is one that I bought last year at Cato’s. The blazer is not lined, so the first time I wore it the red rubbed off on my shirt. I learned a lesson about buying bright colored clothing and it not being lined. I tried on two necklaces before I made my decision on what I was going to wear. I added the pray pendant to the Tabitha necklace and wore it as a short style.
This black and white top is one that I wore this summer. The cap sleeves make it easy to wear a jacket over it without having to worry about the sleeves bunching up. I hate when I look like I have PopEye muscles under my sleeves. Haha
I have one the matching bracelet called the Selena. And two bling bracelets , the Hugo and the Ezra. The Ezra (black) was a Halloween special bracelet that is sold out.
My shoes that I chose to wear are a pair of Marc Fisher booties that I bought last year. I love booties because they look great with pants or dresses. It took me a while before I was comfortable wearing booties with a dress. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and that is a good thing.
These pants are palazzo pants. I had lunch with a friend and the first thing she said was, “those pants make you look so skinny.” Who doesn’t want to hear comments like that?
Let’s play “I Spy.” I spy with my little eye the car keys that I forgot to take off my purse. Haha. Did you find them? Here is a hint, look on the pumpkins?
I am writing this while traveling down the Interstate. I am using my iPad because it has cellular capability. BUT, I can’t link to my outfits with an iPad. If there is something that you are particularly fond of just shoot me a message and I will try to link to that item.
I had the best time at Glamour Day. I would love to share what a great opportunity it is working with Rodan and Fields with some of you. If you are interested in learning more about Rodan and Fields, whether it is the products you are interested in OR if you are curious about the business end, then email me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com
Those pants do have a slenderizing affect on you (not that you need it). The whole outfit is fabulous and the color pop with black and white is perfect.

I’m with you Tania—I don’t have a ton of black either. And my first impulse is to add some fabulous color like you’ve done!!

Hi Hi Tania, I’m starting a blog soon. Your blog has really inspired me. I hope when I finally publish, that you would start following me.
How exciting! Be sure to let me know when you have everything up and running!
It is true you look so tall and lean. Black does have its advantage. I bought the long necklace to wear with my all black too. I am learning from you to not just wear what is current like the palazzo pants. Might have to pull mine back out.
Tania, you always look great. What is your diet and exercise regimen? BTW love the outfit.
Tania, do we get to see your day of pampering?! I bet that was something fun and you looked really good in the pics where y’all were wearing the eye lashes tshirts ?
It was a lot of fun, Patti! I will put it on the blog in the next day or two. Make sure to look for it probably on Wednesday!
I always wear ankle boots with dresses and skirts! Are you going to write a post about that pampering day/morning/evening?
I will be writing about the experience, Nancy. It will probably take me a day or two to get back in the groove from traveling.
Love how you put together this black/white outfit with the ‘pop of color’ red jacket! And, the palazzo pants are very
slimming. You look stunning. Love thel long Plunder necklace.
Thanks, Mary! I love red with black and white, it is one of my favorite combinations.
Hi Tania, the colours are striking and yes any pop of colour changes it, you look taller too!
(I am wearing black and white today also!) I have added a patterned black and white neck scarf and then I feel more glamorous at work (teaching 6,7 & 8 year olds LOL!).
Kind regards,
Tracey
Black and white are a glamorous color combination. Adding accessories up the ante. The 6,7 & 8 year olds might not notice how nice you look, but I bet the other teachers do. Lol!
Wow you look super, brilliantly tall, in those fab trousers Tania!
