STYLING A FEMININE TOP WITH BOYFRIEND JEANS

 

It is time to head out on the road again. I have had a great time visiting family, but it is time to head back to the house. Joe was telling me how well he got along without me, and then threatened that I better not stay away too much longer. Lol! That is hilarious, in reality, he HATES for me to travel. I tease him all of the time and sing him a little tune from the movie Miss Congeniality…

 

“You think I’m gorgeous, you want to kiss me… You want to hug me… You want to love me… You want to hug me… You want to smooch me… You want to…” Lol! Am I the only one that loved that movie? Anyway, he and Lucy will be thrilled for me to get back in town, although both of them will try to give me the cold shoulder for a couple of hours. Then, they’ll both come back around after they think that I’ve been punished enough for leaving them. Hahaha! Men!!! Dogs!!!

 

 

First off, don’t be taking photos in the streets. I am not encouraging or condoning anyone to take photos in areas that could be dangerous. I feel like this is something that you already know, but just like the warning that says Tide Pods are not to be eaten, you never know what people will do.

 

 

This adorable cotton top with embroidered wildflowers spoke to me. I love flowers, and I used to spend hours in my flower beds. This top reminded me of the bouquets that I would pick and bring into the house. I even made a couple of wedding bouquets from my flowers, but they all went away when we put in our pool. Oh well, I don’t have time to garden anymore anyway, and the grandchildren sure do enjoy the pool.

This top is so delicate and feminine looking, especially with the small flutter sleeves. I have never considered myself terribly feminine or delicate, but I still love this top. I am wearing a size large in the top, and I think that it fits me great. The top is lined, so you don’t have to worry about seeing through it.

 

 

The loose fit jean is sure growing on me. As long as the jeans don’t look sloppy or too baggy, then I love having some extra room in them. I put on some skinny jeans the other day, and I felt constricted. I was surprised at how fast I was ready to sideline my skinnies. I think a compromise between the loose and the skinny will be my preferred choice.

This pair by Madewell is a slim boyjean. Boyfriend jeans tend to be looser than girlfriend jeans, and I would normally size down in them. However, since the loose-fit trim is trending, I decided to order my regular size in these. They actually fit me well, and I like the way that they look. What do you think? Has the trend grown on you yet?

I think the loose fit with the cuffed hem is cutesy. Cutesy is also how I would describe the blouse, so they go well together. I added an old pair of navy wedge espadrilles to the look, and I’ll link to some similar ones for you. I wear navy a lot in the summer, and espadrilles are an essential summer shoe in my book. I wear them all of the time and I never get tired of them.
