TUESDAY TRY ON SESSION WITH OLD NAVY AND LOFT

Welcome to my Tuesday Try-On Session with Old Navy and Loft. Going shopping in stores is not on most of our agendas, but thank goodness for online shopping. The only difference in online versus in stores is that you can’t feel the material or try on the clothing.

So, as a blogger, part of my job is to order products from different stores and let you know how they fit and feel. This will help you gauge how the clothing will fit you because I will let you know the sizes that I am wearing.

Also, when you become a blogger, you get used to telling everyone all of your stats. I am 5’6″ tall, and I usually weigh between 155 – 160 at any given time. I carry most of my weight in my stomach region, so you will see that I try to pick tops that don’t show my lumps and bumps.

I usually wear a size 10 in tops and pants, and a size 12 in dresses. A size medium fits me typically; however, there are times when I need a large. There are also some stores that I know that I need to size up or down in, and I will be sure to let you know when that needs to happen.

Today’s try-on is with Loft and a couple of things from Old Navy. I have placed an order with Amazon and QVC for upcoming sessions, but if you have a favorite store that you would like to see me do a try-on session with, please be sure to comment below.

Today I am wearing the same pants and shoes with all of the tops. I love doing that since it shows how versatile a pair of pants can be and how you don’t even notice that I am wearing the same ones over and over again. I’ll also be wearing the same jewelry. The jewelry pieces are the Val large hoop earrings, the JAE star choker necklace, and the Metallic Rope Necklace. So, let’s get started with the first top.

You might have noticed that I have loved a tropical print this year, and this leaf print top fits right in with my theme. The split neckline creates a flattering v-neck, which helps to elongate your neck. The short dolman sleeves have a cuffed sleeve, and there is also a small vent in the side to allow for movement. One of my favorite features is the small pleat in the front, which is perfect for hiding my tummy region!!! I am wearing a medium in this top, and I could have even sized down since it is very generous in the sizing.

Pumpkin Spice time is here, and I’ll fit right in with my fabulous new sweater. I oohed and awwed over this sweater as soon as I opened the package. The color is gorgeous, but it is the style of the sweater that I genuinely like. Because I am wider in my tummy area, a top/sweater with a wide band at the hips looks better on me. The band hugs the hips and creates a “puffed” area so that no lumps and bumps show. The deep v-neck is flattering, and the short sleeves will make this sweater easy to wear under a jacket or cardigan all fall and winter long. This top is semi-sheer, so some of you might want to wear a cami under it. I am wearing a medium in the sweater, and I think that it fits me perfectly. The sweater also comes in light lilac and ivory, and I am glad that I went ahead and bought the ivory one at the same time. It is a great essential wardrobe building item.

I try not to swear, so I am kicking the ground instead. I am angry because I just bought this top, and now it is not on the website. UGH!!! I liked the length, I liked the different tiers, I liked the color, but I wasn’t a fan of the see-thru macrame trim. So, I’ll see if I can find you another “similar” top that will look just as cute.

This Chevron double V linen cami is incredibly beautiful in person! I wish that you could see how pretty the colors are in this top. This cami is going to be so pretty all year long, but it is going to be pretty this fall with black, brown, burgundy, dark olive, or khaki. I am wearing a medium in this top, and I have plenty of room left in this top.

This fringed tank top sweater has beautiful colors in the print. When I bought this sweater, I had in mind to wear it with blue jeans, and I think that it will look great worn like that. The colors of this top are more vibrant than it looks in these photos, and the fringe would be more noticeable when worn against a darker background. This sweater is 100% cotton and is machine washable. I am wearing a medium, and it is plenty roomy.

This navy and white striped tank from Old Navy is super soft and flowy. I have fallen in love with the Luxe fabric from ON, and I have lots and lots of tees in that fabric. This top would look great when worn with a denim jacket, tucked in a pair of jeans, or when worn with a long cardigan. Stripes are a classic pattern that never goes out of style, and you will be able to wear this tank for years to come. I am wearing a size medium in the top, and it fits me perfectly.

You gurls know that I love the chewed hem look on jeans right now, so these white straight-leg crops “spoke” to me. There is a skinny leg version of these jeans also, but I like the straight leg look. The straight leg is more forgiving and doesn’t show all of my leg ripples and dimples. Lol! I am wearing my usual size 30 (same as a size 10), and I think that they fit great! These are a WINNER in my book!!! Loft also offers petite and tall sizes, so check those out.

These Sperry Crest Vibe sneakers have been my go-to this entire summer. I even wore these when I went to Ikea over the weekend, and they did great. My painters have been painting the shelves for all of my shoes, so I threw my shoes in garbage bags to move them from off the shelves. I only kept out a couple of pairs to do me until I can get them back on the shelves, and this pair was one that I kept out. I did have to size down to an 8 1/2 instead of my usual size 9, but now they fit me great!

I hope that you enjoyed this try-on session, and I hope to get back to doing them weekly. So, if you have a store that you would like to see me do a session with, be sure to comment below.

Joshua 24:15

15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

  16. I’m curious if you would wear these shoes with a casual dress. I’m trying to find a good alternative to heels that I don’t feel frumpy wearing 🙂
