It has been a fantastic start to summer, and the weather is beautiful. Ashleigh and I went to the pool yesterday, and I am trying to make that a weekly event. Next week I’ll have all my children and grandchildren here, and we plan on going to a Splash Park and to Dollywood to ride some rides.
I have NEVER been to Dollywood, so I’m looking forward to going. I will volunteer to watch Beckham, who is only 4, while everyone else goes on the crazy rides. He and I will find an ice cream stand and chill in the shade. Lol! The last time I was at a theme park, my children talked me into getting on a wooden rollercoaster. Never again!!!
Today is This or That Thursday, and I’m staying a couple of outfits in different shades of green. I love vibrant green, but I am only now coming around to embracing Olive green. This Cotton Gauze Midi Dress is so versatile that you will be able to wear this in multiple ways this summer. You can wear it open like a duster, belted (not included) as I have it with heels or sandals, as a cover-up for a swimsuit, non-belted dress, or around the house as a robe. The dress is lightweight, and I love the deep v-neckline, which is flattering.
The dress has a relaxed fit, so I sized down to a small, and it fits great. I also ordered this dress in white, but I ordered that one in a medium, so I need to try it on to see if it fits. The dress has a modest slit up the sides, and it does have pockets!
The Wedge Espadrille Sandal is one that I bought several months ago, and it has almost sold out. There are only a few sizes left, so I’ll also link to some similar ones that would work.
I added this Wide Straw Belt to give the dress interest. The belt is stretchy and is a beautiful two-tone color. This comes in only one size, so it is a little long for me, but I still like the look.
I couldn’t decide which handbag to carry, so I took photos with both of them. The Chalk Coach Leather Shoulder Bag gives the outfit a dressy look.
The Striped Pom Pom Bag gives the dress a casual look. I liked how this bag matched the straw belt, but I liked the Coach bag since it looked dressy.
Now for That outfit. This outfit is also in shades of green, olive, and teal. I’m unsure why the pictures make the cardigan look blue because it is a true dark teal. I’ll link to the sweater later in this post, and when you go to the website, you’ll see the actual color.
With or without the teal cardigan, this outfit is still cute. I look for cool and comfortable outfits in the summer, and this outfit is perfect.
Apologies ahead of time; this Textured Sweater-Knit Tank is sold out in all sizes. I know that inventory is hard for retailers to get at this time, but I feel like J.Jill items sell out faster than most. I’m not sure if they are in high demand or if they only carry a small amount of inventory. Luckily, I found some incredibly similar sweater tanks.
I don’t guess you need to see this tank’s length, but the photo also gives you a look at the shorts. I’ll go ahead and mention the Sonoma Taupe Sandals I’m wearing. I love the casual vibe of these very comfortable slide sandals. No, they probably aren’t as comfy as Birkenstock, but they aren’t as expensive either. They run TTS, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.
I’m sure this Dolman Cardigan is too hot where many of you live, but this color will also work in the fall. I love when you can wear clothing in more than one season. I’m wearing a medium in the cardi, and it fits great, a little relaxed, which it is supposed to be.
Here is the length of the cardigan from the back. It is long enough to cover your rear if you wear it with leggings.
These Chino Utility Shorts are so cute, and I love this neutral color. They look great with everything, and I often wear them. When I went to grab the link, I noticed they were on sale, so I ordered navy and white in these also. They are of excellent quality, and I love the utility pocket style. These run true to size, and I’m wearing a size 8.
Here is a side-by-side look of both outfits so that you don’t have to scroll back and forth to see which look you like the best. I’m going to put the links here also.

this is about your hair…you were going to change it…and then you didn’t. what made you want to and then why did you change your mind? I like your posts btw.
I like both of the outfits and they are meant for different occasions for sure. They both look great.
While both outfits look great, THIS is my favorite mainly because the dress can be worn for so many occasions. I own a lot of Birkenstock’s, but I also have a pair of Sonoma sandals that have arch support and are extremely comfortable. I’ve never been to Dollywood either. I know your family will have a great time.
THAT for sure! This green needs a shot of color to pair with it and you did that with the blue sweater. The dress washes you out.
I like both on you. Thank you for inspiring us to try different looks. I really like the lipstick you’re wearing in these pics. Would you mind sharing the company and color? Thank you and have a great day 😀
I like THE dress but not the color. I like the sweater shirt. I don’t wear shorts.
I am not a fan of the camo green colors.
I like them both equally…..they’re great depending on where and what you’re doing.
I like the shorts outfit the best. But, seriously you look fabulous in both!! Each outfit fits a different purpose. I soo appreciate and enjoy your blog. Thank you.
THAT look is so cute! I want to order it but I am currently on a weight loss journey with no idea where I will end up! I need to wait until I am done…..😄
