I was reading over some of the comments that you ladies have left for me in the past few days. I do read every comment, and depending on what is happening that day, I try to comment back as much as possible. On the days that I am traveling, or the days when I am working at the lumber company, then I don’t get the chance to comment back. Some of your comments make me crack up, and I have to share them with Joe. So, yesterday, when I read the comment about someone spending way too much money by buying the clothing on the links that I provide, it reminded me of a saying from Joe.
There are times when he is out in the town, and someone might mention me to him. Here in town, he is waaaay better known than I am, so it isn’t often that anyone even knows who I am. But, occasionally, they tease him by saying something like, “you sure have a pretty wife, you better watch out, or someone will try to steal her.” He will laugh and laugh at that because he knows better. He tells them that he knows for a fact that he will never have to worry about the UPS or FedEx guy trying to steal me away. They deliver all of my packages so that they would run from me. Lol!!!
Pretty camisoles are all the rage. I think these are a great way to layer for fall and winter since you won’t have the extra added bulk of sleeves to go under cardigans and jackets. I have some that have lace at the top, and I have a few with ruffles, and both styles are gorgeous. I bought this camisole at a local boutique in town a couple of weeks ago. It is by ODDY, which is a boutique brand. I decided to add a large suede belt to today’s look, but you can leave that off if you choose. I have photos later in the post where I have removed the belt.
I am wearing more vintage jewelry today. I used to collect a lot of vintage crystals, but then I got to collecting plastics and bakelite. This necklace is perfect for fall with the colors and the leaf dangles. The necklace is plastic, including the links, and it is very lightweight. The dangle earrings are probably from the 60’s era, and they remind me of those glass balls that looked like pods of grapes. I think every home had to have at least one of those grape pods. Lol! I think we had an orange set, but I have also seen green and purple ones.
I will be going to my sister’s next week for a vintage fashion show. This is a yearly event that my mother and her friend have for the Winnwood Retirement Community in Marietta. It is a beautiful facility, and the residents there love the show and all of the jewelry. I told mom that I would start showing everyone some of the vintage items that I have bought at previous shows. I don’t show you a lot of my vintage jewelry since you can’t purchase it in stores. BUT you can join me next week if you live in the area. I would love to meet you on Saturday, the 26th. Early shopping and hors d’oeuvres at 10:30, and the fashion show starts at 11:30.
You can’t tell, but the jeans that I am wearing are crop pants. That is the beauty of knee boots; you can extend the wear of your jeans by adding boots. These jeans are by NYDJ, and they are a pull-on style jean. I have this pair of jeans in the dark wash and also in the lighter faded color. The Vince Camuto boots are one of my favorite purchases so far this year. I love the color, and they fit great. They do run small, so I sized up 1/2 a size. Here is the link to the boots.
Here is how the jeans look with my Tory Burch flats (here). I like this look, but it was pretty chilly outside, so the boots were the look for the day. I also took off my belt as soon as I took my photos. Lol! I decided that I didn’t need anything drawing attention to my waistline.
