Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a green polka dotted dress that has a high neck and ruffles plus gold wedge shoes It was a gorgeous day yesterday, at least it was most of the day. It stormed around 4:00 in the afternoon, but it was so pretty before that. I went outside and sat under the pool umbrella to do my blog post and just to enjoy the warm air. There was a slight breeze, so I didn’t meltdown from the heat. It was around 87 degrees when it forced me inside, but I talked to two ladies today who told me that they were looking at 90-100+ degrees, so I am not going to complain. Yikes! That is scorcher weather.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a green polka dotted dress that has a high neck plus gold wedge shoes When I looked at the pool, it reminded me that I needed to tell you a “Joe” story. Lol! We have had our pool for about 8 years, I think. We had someone come and put the pool, wiring, pipes, etc. in, and then we poured a concrete deck all around the pool. It poured rain almost the entire summer, so it took forever to get the pool installed. We only got to use the pool about a month before it was time to winterize it for the winter. When we tired the underwater light for the first time, it didn’t work. Joe checked all of the breakers and connections that were above ground but couldn’t find an issue. The rest of the wiring was in a pipe that was now under concrete, so we pretty much gave up on having a pool light.

Fast forward to the end of the summer last year. I was out of town, and Joe and my son decided to close the pool for the winter. They drained a lot of the water, and the light was easily accessible for them. So, the “fix-it” version of Joe decided to look into the light issue one more time. They took the whole light apart, and Joe called me so excited that he had fixed the light!!! Come to find out…the bulb hadn’t been screwed in tight enough. LOL! I laughed and laughed at him. We were so excited to open the pool this year since we were finally going to have a pool light. It didn’t work! I thought that he was going to explode. Thankfully, it was just a bad bulb, and he ordered a new one that arrived on Friday. Installing the new lightbulb was not an easy task since the light is under 3 feet of water. You don’t know how happy it makes me to see this light shining. Joe used the pool float to lay on his belly and reach as far down as he could to reinstall this thing. It sure pays to have a “fit-it” Joe around the house. Better late than never. Hahaha!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a green polka dotted dress that has a high neck and ruffles plus gold jewelry from Kendra Scott I know that I don’t usually wear high necked garments. I prefer a v-neck or a low scoop neckline to elongate my neck. But, I know that some people think they have a skinny neck, scars, or don’t want to show their chest. So, when I saw this cute green polka-dotted dress, I decided to give it a try.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a green polka dotted dress that has a high neck and ruffles plus gold Kendra Scott jewelry I added some of my favorite Kendra Scott items to the dress. I thought that the gold jewelry looked better with the green than the silver, so I went with that. I hope that you took advantage of the Kendra Scott sale that ended yesterday, to grab some new “feel pretty” items for yourself. I am wearing the long Ried (HERE) Ivory Mother of Pearl necklace and the triple strand Elisa (HERE) with an Ivory Mother of Pearl small drop pendant. I also added two of my favorite Kendra Scott bracelets, the Fallyn cuff (HERE), and the Maggie Bangle (HERE). My Zanzibar hoops have a small number of encrusted crystals on them so that you can wear them with fancy dresses or with jeans. HERE is the link to the hoop earrings.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing gold wedge shoes This little leopard/cheetah print clutch is by Aimee Kestenberg, and it came from QVC. This clutch came with a matching charger for your phone, and I thought that was a cute idea since most of us carry a phone with us at all times. HERE is another one of her handbags that I have carried a lot. This was back in 2017, so that should give you a blast from the past. Lol! HERE is the link to Aimee’s bags that are on QVC.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a green polka dotted dress that has ruffles plus gold wedge shoes I know that you’ve seen me wear these shoes a lot lately. Honestly, they go with everything! I love the neutral gold color that has just a hint of metallic sheen. These are the perfect summer shoe, even if they are a platform wedge. I know that some of you aren’t comfortable wearing a platform shoe, so I’ll see if I can find something that I like and link to it below. I am wearing my usual size 9, and these fit me great. HERE is the link to the shoes.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a polka dotted dress that has a high neck and ruffles plus gold wedge shoes Finally, for this adorable dress. I love the frilly ruffle at the bottom of the dress and also the ruffles around the arms and neck. You can choose to tie the dress or leave it untied for a loose fit. I like the length of this dress and how it has a longer length in the back. I am wearing a medium in the dress, and it fits great since the tie is adjustable. I can’t find the misses version of this dress on the website any longer, but (HERE) is the plus size.

Gayle, you need to wear cuff bracelets. They can be pulled apart and adjusted.

Enjoyed the pool light story! We have a door sensor on our front door and it’s set up as a knock sensor. I put a big ugly sharpie created sign telling amazon to please knock ferheavenssake because they seem to be intimidated by my ring doorbell. Will not use it. So last week the knock stopped telling me there was a knock so I spent an hour removing it and adding it back to the hub. Finally I took out the battery. Put in what I thought was a fresh one. Did not work. So got in the car and went to buy a battery that I had to stand in line in 99° to get in. Note to self: avoid Home Depot or learn to wait for amazon to send one. Got the battery and armed with a home made iced latte I put it in and wouldn’t you know it worked. Now, if my hubby had tried this he would have disassembled the entire sensor and declared it dead. In a fairness I will admit a Button Switch for my undercounter LED lights made by same company did fail. And it occurs to me that the battery that I started with was one I took out of the dead Button before sending it back to Amazon. I forgot to consider the most common cause. I’ve a burned out bulb in my bath vanity. Going to see if it’s loose before I go to Home Depot. Second note to self: do not buy light fixtures that require some weirdo size bulb.

Save that dress for St. Paddy’s Day Lol. Me, I’m Scots Irish. We wear orange! My ancestors settled in Orange County, later Botetourt, in 1746 so I guess we’ve been wearing orange a long long time!

I love this green color too. I just bought two tie at the waist summer blouses in polka dots. They only had black with white dot or Navy/ grey, I really wanted a green or red. I’m craving color. You look so kool in that dress and I agree about certain shades of gold just work with everything. I have pale champagne gold, snakeskin sandals.
