PLAID SHIRTS LOOK CASUAL AND FUN AND SOME ARE EVEN DRESSY

Yay! I am so glad that you like the How to Get The Most Out Of Your Wardrobe series. This is a fun series for me, and it stretches me also to come up with different style combinations. Remember, you can also add a denim jacket to looks, a cardigan, or any other accessory to change the look of an outfit. Today’s post is about the cropped jean worn in a casual style.

I know many of you might not be a fan of the cropped jean or the raw hem. These styles are trends and not classics, so you don’t have to wear them if they don’t suit your personality. However, trying the latest styles will keep you looking modern, and, in the process, you appear more youthful. You can still achieve the same look if you choose a pair of cropped pants with a sewn hem, a longer pant with a raw hem, or a longer pant with a slight flare. Learn to make small tweaks to my outfits so that it suits your style.

Maybe you aren’t a flannel-wearing gurl, but you still want to wear plaid. Here is what you do…find a plaid top in a pretty color and a different material. That may sound simple, and it really is. This plaid tie-neck top doesn’t have the same “country/western” style as the flannel shirt. It is a tad bit more dressy, even though I would still consider this a casual top.

The gorgeous colors of this top attracted me since they are a lot of the fall colors that I love. It was a tough choice since this same top is offered in olive shades, and I have become a huge fan of that color lately. No matter which color you choose, they will both be great for fall. I am wearing a medium, and it fits me great.

I have the top half-tucked above, but I wanted to show you the length of the top. Here is a photo from the rear, and below is a photo with the top left out.

I added gold accessories since my outfit was in the gold family. That just made sense to me, and I admit that I like a matchy-matchy look. I just prefer to call it monochromatic. Lol!

Another accessory that I added is this gorgeous pebbled leather camel-colored handbag. When I first bought this handbag, it kept flying off the shelves; I literally couldn’t link to it since it was always sold out. It is finally back in stock, and this fall is a perfect time to carry this handbag. Although, I really think this color is great any time of the year. The bag is a good medium-sized bag, and the zip top will keep all of your belongings hidden and safe from prying eyes.

Comfortable, comfortable, comfortable! That is how I would describe the fit of these tan leather loafers by Aerosoles. I love that they are soft, comfortable, and great for on-the-go, but the gold buckle also adds a polished style element to them. I think these run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9.

This isn’t really a Joe story, but I wanted to share with you a gift that I got Joe for Christmas, and it has been his favorite gift ever. It is a flashlight. Sounds exciting, right? Let me tell you; I will never be without this flashlight or another one that is maybe updated. There is a HUGE den of coyotes across the river and highway in front of my house. So, I am always uneasy when I take Lucy out to the potty before bed. I turn on the porch light, bang the front door, and take this flashlight out with us. This light is so powerful that I can see everything, even across the road. It is truly AMAZING!!!

I just ordered myself a smaller one that I am going to keep in my car. It is rechargeable with a USB cable, so I will keep it charged in my car just in case I break down at night. I don’t know why I never thought of that before, but now that I have, the thought terrifies me. Anyway, if you are looking for a Christmas gift for your hubby, check out this flashlight.

BTW, we tried a couple of other brands thinking that we could find one cheaper, and none of them have measured up to this flashlight. There are several different options for less expensive, and some that are more expensive also. If you get one, please leave me a comment when it comes in because I know that you will be blown away.

  3. Great outfit. I love plaid and am looking forward to wearing mine in the coming months

  4. I love that you are doing the same pair of pants for a few days, I love the different looks. I love plaid but not on me, I look like a lumberjack in plaid but this top might work! Thanks!

  5. My favorite so far! Thanks for the flashlight recommendation. We live on a mountain and the power goes out a lot in storms. The more flashlights the better!

Another great outfit you created with the same pair of pants. You have inspired me to wear the same pair of cropped frayed hemmed jeans 3 days this week but with different tops, jewelry, and footwear, for appointments. I know that jeans are very versatile, but I usually select all different pieces for multiple days of being out in the same week, so sticking with the one pair of jeans did simplify the process, so Thank You!

  7. Darling top. Great color on you. Loving your posts this week.
