It has become a ritual for my granddaughter, Emersyn, to spend the weekend with me. She shows up Friday afternoon and doesn’t leave until late Sunday. We learn to cook, she loves to help me clean, we color, and we play a lot of card games. It isn’t anything special, but she is the center of attention when she is at my house. Everything revolves around Emersyn; what she wants to eat, what does she want to play, does she want to go swimming, or what does she want to watch on television. You get it…a grandmother’s house. Lol!

Well, this weekend was a little different. First off, she had a smart mouth throughout the week, so she was grounded on Friday. She set a timer on her iPad to let her know when her grounding was over, and she came as soon as she could. Lol! And, since Monday was a holiday, she had already figured out that she could spend Sunday night with me also. However, a couple of her dad’s friends (who she adores and very rarely sees) came by to celebrate Memorial Day with him. As soon as she saw their truck in the driveway, she wanted to go and say hello. We walked through the door, and she turned around, hugged me, and then said, “I’m going to have to ditch you, NeNe,” then she ran off to play. Wow! Nothing like being thrown down like a wet rag. LOL!

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is looking sunny in this white and yellow shirt I love white and yellow this year. I had forgotten that I ordered this shirt from Ann Taylor Factory, and I ordered a very similar top with lemons last night on Chico’s. (HERE) This mood-enhancing top is very lightweight, and I would suggest wearing a cami under it since it is so thin. However, I don’t have on a cami, and you can’t see through it in the photos. I ordered a size medium in this top, and it fits me great. It is machine washable, so the care is easy. And, the price is only 19.99, so it is something to consider if you want a top to brighten your mood. HERE is the link to this top.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is looking sunny in this white and yellow shirt tied at the waist I added my large Maggie filigree hoop earrings (HERE) from Kendra Scott. I love how large these are, but they also come in a smaller size and even a huggie size. The Fallyn cuff link bracelet (HERE) is gorgeous, and it is excellent for those who have larger or smaller wrists. You can adjust how the bracelet fits by tightening or loosening the cuff. I also added the Reid Ivory Mother of Pearl necklace (HERE) to the outfit, but I am not sure that it added anything to the outfit. It looked better in person than it is showing in the photos.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is looking sunny in this pair of yellow espadrilles from Michael Kors First off, these shoes are old, and I mean OLD. They are my yellow espadrille shoes from Michael Kors that I have had for years. I didn’t think that I would ever wear a pair of yellow shoes, but I wear these all of the time, and I love them. Wearing these with jeans, shorts, and dresses are great when you want a pop of color, and they look like sunshine on your feet. Lol! I’ll see if I can find something similar for you gurls.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is looking sunny in this white and yellow shirt and yellow pants, and a pair of yellow espadrilles from Michael Kors Bright yellow, and so much fun! That is how I am describing these pants. So many of us can’t wear this bright color around our faces, but it is easy to wear as a pair of pants. This is the first time that I had ordered from Ann Taylor Factory, so I wasn’t sure about the sizing or the quality. I am pleased on both accounts. I ordered my usual size 10, and these fit me great. They are machine washable, and they are 92% cotton and 8% spandex. These pants are also of great quality, and the price is crazily affordable. HERE is the link to the pants.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is looking bright and sunny in this white and yellow shirt and yellow ankle pants, and a pair of yellow espadrilles from Michael Kors I’ve had a couple of people message me about my new doormat. I posted about that (HERE), but I forget that someone might be new and, even though it shocks me, some of you might not read me blog daily. ? So, I bought this at Frontgate, and it is so nice and very thick. In fact, I have been known to stub my toe when I am taking pictures since I am not used to its height. Lol! HERE is the link to this incredible doormat. 1. First of, you always look great! Your outfits aren’t over the top, and you inspire me to try different things that I don’t think of!

I love yellow/mustard this year for some weird reason, so, when I saw this post I smiled. Yellow=sunshine! I’m so practical that I almost always would choose more neutral (boring!) colors for shoes and accessories. But this year I bought a yellow/mustard-ish Kate Spade satchel, and yellow sandals!

I never used to like red also- I just want to blend in and not stand out! But I have some red items now, and will add very soon, red flats/or sandals for a pop of red!

Thank you for your blog. Thank you for you!

I love this outfit on you. I think I like the Ann Taylor blouse even more than the chico’s one. I wear lots of different colors. Light pink is probably not the best on me but that may be a carry over from when a friend told me not to wear pink.

  3. Sunshine is right! I love seeing more color. It seems everyone is coming out into the fresh air and craving color and excitement. Color is safe so go for it, I say. I don’t own any solid pants in color but I have several striped. My fav right now is a pink, blue and light green stripe. Pick out a matching peasant blouse, pair of strappy sandals and I’m dressed. I hate it though when you can’t tell how sheer a top is going to be until you get it. My new blouse is beautiful turquoise and so sheer, I have no idea how to wear it. A cami is not enough coverage.

  4. You look great in yellow!! Wish I could wear that color. Thanks for your daily blog. Love!!

  5. Cute outfit! I’m tempted to get that blouse. Looks great on you! I usually don’t wear yellow. Like me, my older daughter is also a blonde and she looks GREAT in yellow. She has a “lemon” top like the one you linked to, so maybe I should give the “flower” one a try. I love to hear stories about Emersyn. She’s quite the character! I hope to have grandkids one day…but first I need to get my four young adult kids married off. 🙂 Have a great day!

  6. Beautiful outfit on you and I’m one that absolutely LOVES yellow. And love the stories on your feisty granddaughter. She sure loves her NeNe and she’s definitely your mini me 🙂

  7. I love this outfit! My favorite color ever is pink. I wear a lot of black and have been trying to be better about incorporating more color. I did a bunch of on- line shopping (incorporating colors) when the pandemic first started and have lots of cute clothes to wear if I ever get to return back to the office!!

  8. The yellow is so pretty on you! I love bright, bold colors especially blue, red and green. I don’t care for pastels like blush or peach. I do love navy blue and have a lot of it in my closet! That’s so special that you get to see Emersyn often, all my grands live across the country from me. I miss them so! Thank goodness for FaceTime and Marco Polo to stay connected!

  9. This outfit is so cute on you! My favorite color is chambray, or anything blue. I’m trying to add some other colors to my collection to spice things up. Might have to check out the shirt from Chico’s. It’s wonderful you have your granddaughter so close to you. Mine are 1600 miles away. I’m so anxious for when I can travel to see them.

  10. Love this outfit! I miss shopping in the US. My husband and I would come down at least once a year and hit all the outlets – Ann Taylor, LOFT, Chicos, White House Black Market…..
I love yellow, but can’t wear it near my face. I bought a sleeveless shell last year with lemons on it and wear it with my olive green pants. One color that I didn’t used to wear was pink, but now I have found a few shades that work and I find I wear it a lot – even in the winter! Love your blog – keep up the great work. Hi from Canada.
