HIT OR MISS WITH STRIPES AND STATEMENT SLEEVES

I went back and forth with myself, trying to decide if or what to say about the horrific shooting yesterday in Texas. My blog isn’t a news outlet, and I’m sure that you already know about the shooting that took the lives of at least 15 innocent people. I want to say that my heart aches for the families involved, and I can’t imagine their pain. They are all in my prayers, and I know they can use all of the prayers that they can get.

I don’t watch television, and I hardly ever see a news article when I am on the internet. I wasn’t even aware of the shooting until my sister mentioned it late last night, and then I was upset the whole afternoon. Joe tells me that I am like an Ostrich and that I keep my head buried in the sand. I’m okay with being an Ostrich; I hate knowing there are people in our world, and possibly in our communities, that are that evil.

After much consideration, I decided to do a blog post today. Fashion is what my blog is about, so let’s get into the fashion for today. On Wednesday, I try to do a Hit or Miss post; this is when you leave a comment on what you like about the outfit and what part wouldn’t work for your body shape. Today’s Linen Flutter Sleeve Tee is super cute, and I love the unique sleeve detail. This 100% linen tee is perfect for summer and is cool in the heat of the day. I’m wearing a size 1, and the top fits great.

The Summer White Coral Necklace and matching Summer White Seed Bead Bracelet are one of my favorites that I’ve gotten this year. Years ago, I passed up buying a vintage coral necklace, and I’ve grieved over missing out on the necklace. This one isn’t genuine vintage coral, but it is still gorgeous.

You can see the cute flutter sleeve detail in this photo and the length of the tee.

I am loving pants this year; you might have already noticed that. Lol! The Linen Button Hem Striped Crops have a great button detail that sets them apart from the rest. These are 100% linen and have a relaxed fit. I love the pull-on waist that only has elastic in the back. I’m wearing a size 1, and the crops fit perfectly.

Look how cute this small Alabastor Woven Leather Crossbody Bag is! I love the woven leather detail and the tassel accent. The bag is 8x8x4.5, but my iPhone 12 Pro Max had difficulty fitting inside the bag. I have a large wallet case on my phone, and once I took off the wallet case, the phone fit in the bag.

I am so thrilled that Chicos is now carrying shoes!!! The three pairs I have are so cute, and I love all of them. This Lambskin Leather White Beaded T-Strap Sandal has been one that I keep reaching for since it goes with everything. The square toe style has been trending for a while, but I’ve not been a fan. I like a pointy toe since it makes your legs look longer. But, I must admit that this sandal is winning me over, and I might jump on the bandwagon. I’m wearing my usual size 9, so the sandals run TTS.

This photo was taken this past weekend when my DIL and I went to the Omni Grove Park Inn. I hope to share more pictures of the hotel, etc., later. It was a beautiful place, and the scenery was breathtaking. When we got our luggage, the bellhop said, “wow, you got the good room.” We looked at him, confused, and he explained that we were in the room where F. Scott Fitzgerald stayed the summers of 1935 and 1936. That was pretty darn cool!!!

Love all the pieces of this outfit. I recently bought those pants in khaki and they are comfy. Now I want the whole outfit.

My prayers are with the Uvalde families and friends. It’s horrendous and my heart breaks for them. 🙏🏻💕

I love the outfit but don’t love the price of it! Being a widow and on a very limited budget, I have to shop frugally!

I like the look but try to stay away from linen. Can’t stand looking rumpled like linen does.

Ever since Covid I really decreased the media I watch/hear. I can’t take all the negativism. Like Ann Murray said “we sure could use a little good news today”. I pray for our country every night, hoping the violence will stop-or at least decrease-also for the family members affected by these types of things.

I’m an ostrich too. I hear enough news from other people in my life and it’s easy to sink into depression these days. On a lighter note…
The outfit is a hit and so is the Grove Park Inn. Owen there for a conference once. I bought this top to go with the navy and cream print ankle pant with Pom trim. Love them both!

The outfit is a miss for me as I dislike cropped pants and flutter sleeves. I do love navy and white together though, and the sandals are cute! Like you, I’m an ostrich. I knew nothing about the shooting yesterday till my husband mentioned it. I avoid watching or reading the news because it’s mostly so depressing.

The outfit looks great on you. For me it’s a miss style wise. I’m not a big fan of flutter sleeves or pants with buttons at the ankles. However, I do like the colors. Always love navy blue and white together.

It’s a HIT from me! Putting in an order right now. This outfit is just my style.

I will be praying for the little angels and their protectors who passed away today at the hand of a person who committed such a heinous deed.

From Joe Biden: “May God bless the loss of innocent life on this sad day and May the Lord be near the broken-hearted and save those crushed in spirit because they’re going to need a lot of our help and a lot of our prayers. God Love You.”
