HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYWould you be my Valentine? Who gets cards, flowers, or perfume for Valentine’s Day? Do you cook a special dinner or sip a glass of wine? I know what I am getting this year, chocolate covered strawberries! I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries and I get them every year. Probably the reason I get them every year is because “I” order them every year. Lol! I found out a long time ago that if I wanted something specific then I better ask for it or just order it myself. Joe loves this idea, it takes him off the hook. Hahaha50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYI have gotten all the “normal” presents from Joe before. There were years when I would get roses and candy, and there were times when I would get a present of some kind, but truthfully now I only want chocolate covered strawberries. I think it comes with age, I don’t feel the need to get something that shows me how much Joe loves me. I think in the past it was more about showing everybody else. If one of the other girls at work got flowers and I didn’t, then did that mean their husbands loved them more? Nope, it meant they knew that was what their wives wanted. Oh no, I just realized that I have become “practical.”50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYRed for Valentine’s Day. What else would you expect? The red cropped jacket is spectacular, I love it. Guess where I got it? How many of you said the overstock store??? No, that is not where I got it, I got it at an estate sale when I was in Georgia. In fact, I bought a lot at that sale, the lady was my size and had my taste. I came home with several bags full. This is a George Simonton and is a size 10. I love the big gold buttons and the collarless style.

50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYI can’t believe I put off ordering this Plunder necklace called Paris. I thought it looked too big and had too much bling for me. However, I loved it with this jacket. The large pearls and the big rhinestones look dressy instead of gaudy. The bright color of the jacket made the necklace really stand out. 50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYThe earrings match the Paris necklace perfectly. They are a stud style with the large rhinestone and the big one-inch pearl drop. Don’t forget that I am offering 15% off Plunder on orders over 50.00, I will send you a check for the discount.  Go to www.plunderdesign.com/party/believe to shop from Plunder.50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYI don’t think I have carried this Emma Fox purse in a while. It is one of my favorites for style, but I am not fond of having to buckle it to make it stay closed. I bought this several years ago, it is great quality and will last a long, long time. Her purses always have a hanging fox tag and the clover-leaf design closure.

50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYThese boot cut jeans are by Vigoss. I buy my Vigoss jeans at Maurices but I will wait until they go on sale. Vigoss is a nice quality jean and they will wash up and wear nicely. I decided to wear my red boots today to match my jacket. The Claudia bootie by Bellini add a little sass to this outfit. These booties are the perfect color red, they have a 3 1/2 inch heel, zipper accents, and are micro suede material. I wore them last year (here) with a similar outfit. That picture was almost a years exactly ago. That post was from February 10th and today is the 14th. You can sure tell the difference in the eyelashes. Lol!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY VALENTINES DAYI hope you and your Valentine (whoever or whatever that might be) have a wonderful day. I will tell you all about my strawberries tomorrow. Lol! Joe doesn’t know that I bought him some gourmet chocolate covered cherries. Those suckers are HUGE!!! I’ll give them to him later.

Tania, fabulous outfit and Happy Valentine’s Day! I told my husband years ago not to dare spend crazy money on flowers and instead I get them for no reason at all on random days which I find more fun. Those strawberries do sound delicious, enjoy!

  20. LOVE your outfit! That shade of red looks amazing on you! As far as Valentines Day gifts….I always have an ongoing “wish list” at Brighton, so my hubby doesn’t have to come up with an idea, and I don’t have to return anything!! Ha! Now, if he could make it as easy for me (to buy for him!) it’d be great!! Happy Valentine’s Day Tania!

My husband and I went to Schlotzky’s for supper tonight. We had our first “date” at a Schlotzky’s seventeen years ago, right before Valentine’s Day, so we consider this one of our anniversaries. No flowers, no candy, but plenty of happiness.

Beautiful Valentine’s Day outfit! I love those red booties & that jacket match perfectly! How wise you are to order your own gift & not mind at all! I still love the thrill of getting flowers or candy from a sweetie – probably because I’ve never had that on a regular basis. My husband was NOT good at presents or flowers! I love Valentine’s but I’m SO glad it’s over – it was hard on me this year!
