I am one busy lady. I am going to use that as an excuse for being crazy. I am sure most of you were busy last week with going to the grocery store, cooking, cleaning, and all the other 400 things you needed to get done. I was so proud of myself for juggling all the balls I had in the air and being able to get everything done. I had even been writing things done in my planner so that I could see what needed to be done. Once I had completed that task I would highlight it to know that it was done. Then I got an email that completely through all my efforts out the window.
I am happy to hear that many of you were like me yesterday. I shared that I had been picked as a top blogger by Southern Homes and they were having a vote by readers to see who was the top blogger. That was wonderful, except that it was in the “Senior” category. WHAT??? Don’t get me wrong, I guess I am technically a senior but I don’t feel like I act or dress like one. But then again, exactly when are you considered a senior? Who is even supposed to decide when you are a senior? Does it have to do with social security or when you start receiving those AARP notices in the mail?
Today my Energizer Bunny Friend and her daughter, who I call Ally because she calls me Tonya, came by to visit. She was delivering some gifts that I had earned and we were standing around talking. The train that runs right behind my house decided to go up the tracks at that time. Ally mentioned the train and then wondered, “How do you sleep with that thing right outside the door?”
Happy Monday everyone!!! I am excited about today because it marks my 18th month anniversary. It is so hard to believe that 18 months have gone by since I spent one whole weekend out on my front porch watching youtube videos and Googling how-to posts. There is still a slew of things I need to learn but I am happy with how far I have come. I will be announcing a giveaway at the end so don’t forget to read EVERY SINGLE WORD of my post. Lol!
Last night I posted on FaceBook a simple task. I asked that everyone name something I love. It was so fun to see all my friends commenting about my family, fashion, vintage, Plunder and Rodan and Fields. They were ALL correct because I do in fact LOVE all those things. There are of course a whole lot more than those things but that is a good start. I probably should have said name things I don’t love, that would have been much harder. Note to self, “post of facebook to comment things I don’t love.” Lol!
Remember yesterday’s blog post? Remember me singing, “I Feel Good?” Well, forget that!!! Funny how the best part of your day can be before 9:00 am. I was still singing yesterday morning as I went to work but it didn’t take long before the day started taking its toll.
I had a very eventful week last week. It was fun and also very challenging. I played in the Big Easy and ate waaaaay too much. I mean way too much. I am glad I took these pictures before I left home because I am not sure I can fit in my clothing right now. I am on a water diet. Lol! This is where you lock me in a closet and only run the water hose to me. Hahaha! Of course, that isn’t true but I am going to have to watch what I eat for a week or two.
If you read my post from yesterday, then you know I was on the road most of yesterday. It takes me 5 hours, without stopping (which never happens) to get back to my hometown of Livingston, Tennessee. I traveled back home to watch my oldest child be inducted into the football Hall of Fame for Livingston Academy. It was very cool, sitting in the stands and listening to the announcer tell all about his accomplishments. But, since I am such a ditz, I left my “good” camera in the truck and was stuck taking photos with my phone. That would have been alright, if I had been smart enough to record what the announcer was saying. At least I get “Mom” points for traveling so far to see the induction.
Welcome to Wednesday’s Wardrobe Link-Up! Today is the last day of the free Youth Golf Clinic at Willowbrook Country Club. Several young children came out to enjoy themselves, and learn a few golfing tips. Some of you mentioned me doing a post on golf attire, and if I take the game back up, I will have to address that subject. However, I know an outfit you will not see me wearing…..that would be a very, very short dress that was worn at the US Open this past weekend. Joe and I were watching the ending of the tournament to see who would win, and he got an eye full when the fiance of the winner went out to congratulate him. The cameraman followed the couple as they took the long walk upstairs to the clubhouse. Here is a tip for everyone: when you have to constantly tug at your dress to keep everyone from seeing your private parts, the dress might be too short. Lol!
How many of you saw the title, Do You Need To Exercise After 50, and thought about the word “need?” There is a big difference between need and want. I “need” to exercise, but I don’t “want” to exercise. As we age, our bodies are changing, and not necessarily in a good way. Our knees give us trouble, our backs ache, and don’t get me started about what jumping up and down does to my bladder. Lol!
