Do you ever have the best intentions? You MEAN to do things, you WANT to do things, but you DON’T do them. That would be me most of the time. I have my excuses ready like I am busy, I got hung up on something else, or I just plain forgot. I can tell you my excuse today, is I just plain forgot. To make matters worse, this is the second time I have messed this up.
If you are like me, you might have to google what the “Dog days of summer” even means. I had no real clue, I just thought it had to do with being really hot and miserable. I had also heard this was the period of time when the snakes shed their skins, become blind, and will strike at anything. Mostly, though, they are just referred to as the hot, sultry days of summer.
Today is the Ageless Style Link-Up party. I am joined by some wonderful ladies of different ages. I am probably on the “upper” age range, but I will try my best to hold my own with them. Haha The fact that I am a ditz, will be apparent occasionally. Let’s take today’s outfit, just for instance. The email came out weeks ago telling everybody what the theme for today’s link-up would be. I read it, but since then, did nothing about it. I just kept the theme in the back of my mind.
Today is a first for me. I am going to be a Co-Host for a 40+ Link-up with eight other gorgeous ladies. We will be linking-up on the first Tuesday of every month. Today’s theme is Mother’s Day. This is a perfect theme for me today, since my mother just visited with me for a few days. She drove in from Tennessee, with her friend Donna, to put on a vintage fashion show for our woman’s club as a fundraiser event.
I hope you had more trick or treaters at your house than I did. I love Halloween and half the fun is getting to see all the little kids dressed up in their costumes. We used to set up in the parking lot of the lumber company and hand out goodies. But the town started doing Trunk or Treat and now hardly anyone will go to people’s houses or anywhere else. Although it was worth their time to come by the store, we would hand out full-size candy, glow sticks and glow bracelets, plus other small goodies.
Today I am participating in the Ageless Style Link-Up with some wonderful ladies. We only have this link-up the first Tuesday of every month. A different theme is decided on for each link-up, and today’s theme is. “your favorite summer outfit.”
Fashion is ageless, and it has no boundaries. If you like something, wearing it is up to you. However, there has always been a notion that after you reach a “certain” age, you should abide by the rules. There are some styles that I personally don’t like, or won’t wear. But, it is not because of my age, it is because of my body type. This plays right into my mantra, “Age Is An Attitude, Keep Yours Young.”
Today is the Ageless Style Linkup and the chosen theme was for a vintage item. I love vintage so this theme was right down my alley. Buying in thrift shops, yard sales, estate sales, and vintage fashion shows are all wonderful ways that you can have a little history in your wardrobe. Everyone today will be showcasing an item on its “second time around.” Mine is really on its second time around because these are the pictures I used in November 2015. Lol!
You have not lived until you have talked to a three-year-old on the phone. They will either not say anything but you can hear them breathing on the other end or they will jabber non-stop and you can only pick out a word or two that they are saying. That is pure fun but it is hilarious when the three-year-old wants to call her eight-year-old cousin. I was listening to the conversation and getting so tickled.
Have you already written 2016 down instead of 2017 yet? This is a little game I play with myself, I like to see how long it will take for me to make the mistake. Usually, it is on the bank deposit slip at work. It is never “if” it will happen, it is “when” will it happen, Lol!
