50 IS NOT OLD | PROFESSIONAL AND OFFICE ATTIRE | FASHION OVER 40Okay, I am horribly indecisive. I miss not talking about my life at the beginning of my posts, and I thought it was so sweet of you ladies to comment that part of the reason you follow my blog is my personal stories. I believe that I let that “comparison” bug bite me, and I thought that I needed to be more like other bloggers. The comments about me being real, genuine, and authentic made my day. So, it looks like I am back to my old format, at least for now.
50 IS NOT OLD | PROFESSIONAL AND OFFICE ATTIRE | FASHION OVER 40I have actually tried to make it a rule that I don’t look at other blogs very often. I love blogs, and I love other bloggers, but when you look at their blogs, you run the risk of being influenced by their fashion and style. When I first started blogging, I thought that I needed to be like everyone else. That meant that I needed to dress a certain way and to talk a certain way. After a couple of months of trying to be someone that I wasn’t, I gave up and decided just to be me. Whether you liked me or not, at least it would be “me” and not someone else’s style. That is when I started to talk about my life and family. Heck, all of you know that I didn’t go to school for fashion, so what else was I going to talk about? Then the “you’re a real person, you are just like me, I like that you’re not a size 0” comments started to come. Remind me that it is not about the numbers, the amount of sponsored posts, or the comments that I receive. It is about being authentic to myself because I am unique…and so are you!
50 IS NOT OLD | PROFESSIONAL AND OFFICE ATTIRE | FASHION OVER 40Both of these items that I am wearing today are from the “capsule wardrobe” that I created here. I chose at least one blouse to put in my capsule wardrobe, and I tried to pick a blouse that could be worn with jeans or with slacks or a skirt. I also tried to pick a neutral print, so that it wouldn’t be an item that stood out in someone’s mind. That is different than my usual approach of wanting an item with unique details. In a capsule wardrobe, you are limited to how many clothing items you have, so you want to be able to wear them multiple times without someone noticing.

50 IS NOT OLD | PROFESSIONAL AND OFFICE ATTIRE | FASHION OVER 40Here we have the Dallin earrings once again. Lol! The gold necklace is the Vienna necklace, but it is out of stock at this time. Be sure to check back often to see if they have replenished this necklace.
50 IS NOT OLD | PROFESSIONAL AND OFFICE ATTIRE | FASHION OVER 40Sailor inspired clothing is a hot trend. I have purchased several items with the sailor style buttons, and I love how they look. This Ponte skirt is one that I bought at Cato Fashions, so you know that it is affordable. Can you say only 12.99 for misses and 8.99 for the plus size? Did you see that? That is a first since buying a Plus size is never cheaper than the misses sizes. Take advantage of this deal while you can!
50 IS NOT OLD | PROFESSIONAL AND OFFICE ATTIRE | FASHION OVER 40Last night I had a Facebook event to give you information about R+F products. You can still go to that event and watch the two different videos until Sunday. One video is on the different regimens, and one is on the “add-on” products such as Lash Boost. I was on a team ZOOM call last night, where we were discussing all of the different reasons that each of us loves the business. The answers differed from person to person. I loved that I had joined a reputable company that had tremendous growth potential and products that work. My EBF loves the community and the fun aspect. She loves getting to travel and dress up for events, and the perks that R+F showers on us. Several ladies mentioned that they loved being able to work the business when they wanted. One was a caregiver for her father, and she was so happy that this business allowed her the freedom to be with him when he needed her. There are lots of reasons why this opportunity is one that you need to take seriously. I would love for you to join me on a ZOOM call this coming Thursday night (tonight) at 8:00 pm EST. ZOOM is a free app that you can download (here) to any device. ZOOM allows us to talk and see each other, which enables you to ask questions if you wish. To join the call, you download the app and then hit the Join A Meeting button and type in this number: 575-241-0946 Remember, knowledge is power, and you can never have enough knowledge. This is an easy-going simple call with NO obligation. I hope to see you there!!!

Jennifer, what a joy it is to wake up to your comment. It is funny how much alike we all are; it doesn’t matter that you are in Northern California, and I am in Southwestern, Virginia, at heart, we are the same.

  2. I knew I would miss your stories at the beginning of the posts, so I’m glad this change was brief, and we can all get back to enjoying your original format. Don’t ever change.

Angie, I am a creature of habit, and it was such a struggle to just “blurt” out links. I needed to warm up first. Lol!

    • So glad you are returning to the previous format. The comparison bug can bite us all from time to time. God made us all special and unique by his own design. We enjoy YOU.. the fashion is just a bonus!

Thank you, Tara. I know that it is only by the grace of God that my blog was ever found among the thousands that are on the internet.

I LOVE reading your blog! Your stories make me laugh and cry. The sign of a great writer. I have shared your family adventures with my husband on many occasions and we both laugh….you reach more than just the daily readers of your blog. While visiting my daughter living in North Carolina..I saw a Cato Fashions and had to shop because of your blog!! So happy you have gone back to the original format. Keep on writing!!!

      • Tania Reply

Veronique, I have shared many stories from you ladies with my husband also. Lol! I love telling him things that you all have commented.

Tania, I love that top!! I always look forward to your blogs!!

    • I didn’t comment when you said you were changing your Blog format, although I wanted to. I like reading about you and your family first and then the fashion of the day. Looks like I’m in good company! I follow several blogs and I have them all connected thru Facebook. Yours is the only one I read everyday and pull up if I don’t see it first thing. I remember thinking when I first found you, that you remind me of me 😊 Your style was very relatable. Keep being you, Tonya….that’s why we all love you!

Tania, yours is my favorite blog & I really look forward to it each morning. One of your greatest strengths is how honest & authentic you are, and I love hearing your stories, not to mention all of the gorgeous clothes. Please don’t ever change! You are the best!

    • Tania Reply

You know with honest and authentic, you also get the stories that don’t normally hit the highlight reel of Facebook. I doubt if “cat pees on husband’s clothes” is how other bloggers run their websites. Lol!

The thing I like best about your blog is that you are so genuine! Please don’t change anything!

    • Tania Reply

Thank you, Sharon! I really appreciate your following, liking, commenting and sharing my blog.

Since I’ve only been following you a few months, I dont know what your blogs were like when you started but the thing that keeps me coming back is that you’re easy to relate to. You have those crazy moments in your day to day, you’re the same size I am, not a 0, and your fashion picks are fun, versatile, and affordable. I truly enjoy you !

    • Tania Reply

Gina, I have always shared my crazy family with my readers. With me, you get the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. Lol!

  7. I’m so glad you went back to how you’ve been blogging! Yours is the first one I read every day and whether I like the particular fashion your showing us each day or not, I always love and appreciate your effort and especially your stories. 90% of the time I love everything you wear but sometimes the color might not appeal to me but YOU do!! Keep being yourself. That’s what we all love about you. You’re genuine and are willing to put yourself out there and that’s not easy!! Love you, Tania P.S. Thanks to you, I’m using and loving R+F now!!

    • Tania Reply

Sondra, you are so sweet. I think that a 90% rating is pretty darn good…I’ll take it! I also wanted to say that I am thrilled that you are loving your R+F. I love it, but it makes me nervous when a blogger friend tries it for the first time.

  8. yours is the first and only blog that I follow. I have visited with your “Friday Friends” but still always make time for you in my day. I have visited food blogs, organizing, etc. but not one has ranked in my daily following. Love how you make us all feel like friends.

    • Tania Reply

Mary, we are all friends! I find myself talking about one of you ladies to someone, and they will ask me, “who is that?” I tell them, “it is one of my blogger friends,” and I mean that!

  9. Morning Tania! You got this far by being YOU! I like reading your blogs, I like your style, your stories! Stay true to yourself and true to the Word. Be well!

    • Tania Reply

I need to remember, “you be you!” That is the best advice for everyone.

    • Tania Reply

I am sure that some others liked the fashion first, but it just seemed off for me.

I love hearing your stories and especially your inspiration on Sundays. I’m an east coast girl living in Southern California now and look forward to your blog. I follow at least four other bloggers and I don’t want you all to be alike; it’s the difference that makes me check in every morning. Tania, keep up the good work!

    • Tania Reply

Linda, I agree with you. I wouldn’t want the entire world to be just like me.

  11. i agree with everyone love your blog it’s my fave, i can’t wait to read it everyday. You keep being you.

Happy you are going back to the old format. Whatever makes you happiest and is easiest as well. Did I not see a link to the blouse?

    • Tania Reply

Elizabeth, that blouse is several years old, so I didn’t have a current link. I was able to find similar items that I think would work.

Thanks for going back to your regular format. Love the personal stories, and it’s a great idea to bookend your fashion advice with personal stories at the front and business information at the end. It makes it easy to skip one or the other if you’re not interested. Love reading your blog.

  16. I’m glad that your stories are at the beginning before the fashion part of your post. Your stories are heartwarming and I look forward to reading them. You are one of a kind. Thanks, Leslie

  17. I’m glad you are doing you. Your blog is unique and genuine—what I like most about it

  18. Tania… I, too, love love your personal stories at the beginning!! I don’t usually comment but just know your blog is a joy to keep up with… I follow a few but, yours is what I look for in my emails everyday 🙂 I love most (😋) of your outfits and use many of your ideas in putting outfits together. I am awful at this on my own… I’m very basic … a top and a pair of bottoms .. that’s about it. Earnings , of course. Anyway, thanks for your expertise that’s a huge help for me.
Keep being your real and fun self on this blog !!
Ok , question. How many children and grandchildren do you have? Somewhere along the line I got confused.
    Have a wonderful day!!
