50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY PAJAMAS TO WORK | FASHION OVER 40I have a friend that is mean as a snake but in a fun loving way. He can say the most rotten things to people, and he somehow does it in a way that people love him, instead of trying to choke him. Lol! If I said some of the things that he says, I would probably be strung up by my heels, but not him. Instead of people getting mad at him, they come into our store just to talk to him. It reminds me of the restaurant called “Dick’s Last Resort.” You know when you go there that you are going to get insulted, it is part of the charm. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY PAJAMAS TO WORK | FASHION OVER 40All of that to tell you what he said to me yesterday at work. I went into the lumber company to reconcile the bank account because I had taken off all last week when my grandchildren were in town. While I was there, “he” started pestering me, asking me where I had been, etc. Then he said, “let me ask you a question.” I held my breath, waiting on what was coming next. “When you put a post on FaceBook, why is it such a large picture of your face?” I thought he was about to make an “old” crack, even though he is three months older than me. I told him that it was so that everyone could see my amazing lashes, and I batted them at him. He laughed and said that I could take a picture from across the room, and people would still be able to see them. Then, I asked him what the problem, which was my big mistake was. “Because I can see your nose hairs when the picture is that big” was his reply. I laughed at him, but as soon as he walked out of the room, I brought my picture up to see if I had visible nose hair. The rotten thing had made me paranoid, but don’t worry, my head was down, and no hairs were showing. Lol! With friends like that, who needs enemies. Haha!
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY PAJAMAS TO WORK | FASHION OVER 40Okay, you read the title correctly. I wore this to work the other day, and YES, it is pajamas. Lol! I figured that since I did a Walmart post yesterday, I might should have worn this there while I had it on. I don’t know when I bought this dress/gown, but I found it in a pile of clothing that I had never worn. It is much thicker than any nightgown that I would wear, so I just assumed that it was a dress. When I checked out the tag in the neck of the dress, I had a suspicion that it was a sleepwear brand, and it WAS! Lol! This is by Carol Hochman, and I found a lot of other cute gowns that I would not have a problem wearing out in public. Who needs pockets to go to bed anyway?

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY PAJAMAS TO WORK | FASHION OVER 40Adding pops of bright blue turquoise to the pink outfit made me happy. I loved how the blue jumped off the pink background, and the jewelry made all the difference in the look. It took it from, “is that a gown,” to “that is a cute dress, and look, it has pockets!” Lol! The Mabel necklace is turquoise beads of a dark knotted 60″ cord. I am wearing it doubled for today’s look. I added the natural turquoise stone bracelet name, Ernestine. I have two of these bracelets, and I like wearing them together. My earrings are an old pair, but there are tons of turquoise earrings on the Plunder website. I think that turquoise must be their favorite type of jewelry because there are tons of it in the catalogs.
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY PAJAMAS TO WORK | FASHION OVER 40Do you recognize these shoes? If not, then you didn’t read my blog post yesterday. Lol! I’ll wait, go here and read it before you continue with today’s. Haha! These are by Crocs, and I love this pair. They will match anything because the color is a great neutral. They look great with shorts or a dress, and they go great with crops and a bathing suit. Just call them versatile, and you are on the right path. Here is the link to the shoes.
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY PAJAMAS TO WORK | FASHION OVER 40I was getting ready for bed the other night when Joe said the sweetest words to me. No, I am not talking about, “I Love YOU,” even though he did say that. I am talking about him saying, “Go Wash Your Face!” Why was that sweet music to my ears? Because that tells me that he visibly sees the difference in my skin, he appreciates what he sees, and he wants me to continue to use my RF products. When is the last time that your husband really looked at your face and told you that you looked beautiful? I hope that you hear that all the time, but if you don’t, then it is time that we talk. Joe tells me all the time that he thinks this stuff must be a magic potion. Lol! He swears that I have aged backward in the past three years right before his eyes, while he has gotten older. I have bought the products for him, but he is stubborn and refuses to use them. Nancy, it is a crazy restaurant where they will give you a dunce hat to wear that has a derogatory saying on it. Plus, the waiters are rude, will eat out of your plate, etc. I am not sure why people think it is fun to go there, but kids especially love it.

  1. You look darling in that dress/grown!! Haha, NO one would EVER know…especially because of the pockets. Your ‘friend’ sounds like a hoot and Joe is a jewel! My husband tells me all of the time how beautiful I am. He is a jewel also. I am on Instagram but not on FB anymore. I didn’t feel safe there.

Sondra, a hoot is a nice thing to say about my friend. Lol!

Cute “dress” Tania. I see nightgowns/shirts a lot that I think would look good as casual dresses. The only problem I see is if you wear it and someone sees you and they own it and wear it is a nightgown. It sure would save time getting dressed in the morning though!

Christine, if someone sees me wearing a gown out in public, they will just think that they need to do that themselves. Lol! Don’t let others opinions keep you from doing something fun.

  3. I love your “dress”! I saw some tops in the pj section of Walmart not long ago I thought would be cute to layer under my kimonos. You should check out “A Well Styled Life”. On her blog a few days ago she wore a long animal print nightgown as a dress. It looks like one you’d like!
I thought yesterday your sandals would be versatile since they are such a great nuetral!

Sherrye, I’ll have to call Jennifer and tell her that she and I are thinking alike. Lol!

Hi Tania! This may seem silly, but what is the name of the pink toenail polish you have on in this picture? I have been searching for the perfect summer light pink polish and this color looks so pretty! Thanks!

Karen, I wish that I could tell you what the name of the polish is, but my nail salon only goes by numbers, not names. Sorry!

I bought a top once that I didn’t realize was sleep wear. I need to wear a cami with it, but that’s okay.

    • Tania Reply

Dana, that would work for me. I like wearing a cardigan.

He sounds like a mess ( a fun mess) I’ve never seen your nose hairs 😉
I like your gown dress…Lol I bought a super cute cover-up and wore it over a pair of skinny ankle pants and a cami. I got so many compliments. Whatever works is my motto.

He likes to get under your skin and see if he can get you all riled up. Lol!

You look great in your gown/dress. You eye lashes are beautiful. What mascara do you use?

    • Tania Reply

Sherry, I use BADgal BANG by Benefit. The mascara only colors my lashes, Lash Boost is what made them long.

  8. You look darling in your nightgown/dress and you accessorized it perfectly! No one would ever guess it was a nightgown! By the way, you look beautiful in the face shot in this post.
