50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN IT GETS COOL AT NIGHT | FASHION OVER 40NWelcome to Friday with Friends! Friday is almost everyone’s favorite day of the week, I know it certainly is mine. I love bringing a new blogger friend to everyone, and it seems like it is a big hit with all of you. I get so many messages from the bloggers who have been featured telling me how nice all of my readers were to go and visit their blog. I hope today is no different since I have a long time follower, and sweet commenter, as my blogger friend today.
50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN IT GETS COOL AT NIGHT | FASHION OVER 40Jaymie has been blogging for a couple of years, and she is in the over 40 blogger category. In other words, she is younger than me. Lol! She is a mom to 3 very active kids, and still does a lot of running with them since they are involved in sports. Goodness, I sure remember those days when Joe would go one way and I would go the other. Whew! She has a love for fashion and wine, which would be another way that we are soooo similar. Be sure to go and check Jaymie out and show her some love. Here is the link to jaymieashcraft.com.
50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN IT GETS COOL AT NIGHT | FASHION OVER 40I took these pictures about two weeks ago when we were having a cool spell. I almost trashed them because it is nowhere near cool now, today was in the 90s. But, then I happened to remember that everyone does not live in the same area as I do, and it might still be cool where you live. My daughter sent me a picture of her the other day, and she was all bundled up. I also saw a few photos from some of you on FaceBook, and you were getting snow. So, with that in mind, I am showing you a lighter weight sweater that I bought at Francesca’s a couple of months ago. I needed a new white sweater, and I liked the front-tie style. This sweater is long-sleeved, but I simply push up the sleeves when I want. What I didn’t count on, was the fact that the sweater is no longer on their website. Lol! I guess they aren’t thinking about you ladies in cooler climates like I was. Haha! Here are a few tie-front tops, without the long sleeves.

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN IT GETS COOL AT NIGHT | FASHION OVER 40Today, I am wearing the dainty Challis turquoise bar necklace. This necklace features a marbled turquoise rectangle on a 19-22″ adjustable gold chain. The Dallin large gold hoop earrings are a pair that you see me wearing all the time. Why? Because they are so versatile. The bracelets are dainty to match the dainty necklace. The smaller bracelet was a part of last month’s Plunder Posse, so it is no longer available. But, the larger bracelet is part of the Randee bracelet set. Oh, and I can’t forget my glasses. These are called Blue Wave glasses. They are for people who work on their computers or phones a lot. They are supposed to help with eye strain, sleep, and a bunch of other things. Joe thinks they make me look smarter. Lol! I wish it was as simple as putting on a pair of glasses, and maybe it is since wearing them is supposed to be good for me. I think that ordering them made me pretty smart. Haha. Here are the ones that I am wearing.
50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN IT GETS COOL AT NIGHT | FASHION OVER 40These pearl encrusted jeans are a pair that I got while back c/o the Purple Poppy. I love these Lisette jeans because of the fit as well as the style. They have a cute raw hem and they run true to size. I am wearing my usual size 10, and they fit perfectly. These jeans also come in white, so you have a few options.

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN IT GETS COOL AT NIGHT | FASHION OVER 40My white espadrille wedges are a pair that I have had for a while  I didn’t wear them very often because they rubbed my heel in the back where the two straps cross. By accident one day I put the straps around my ankle, without going through the attached loop that holds the straps in place. Who knew that by doing that it wouldn’t rub my heel? Now, I wear them a lot more often. If you have shoes like this that bother you, try doing what I did.

Love the jeans! I don’t think the tie front tops are so cute. This one works on you, but many look odd to me how they set. ❤️ You!

Earline, I love the tie front tops. I find that most of them are flattering and make you look thinner.

Love your reading glasses! Can you share the brand/model number, etc?

Oh my Gosh, I absolutely love today’s outfit. That’s exactly the kind of outfit I like to wear when it’s cool. It looks great on you too!
I bought a pair of black Michael Kors zip front wedges like you have styled over the weekend. They are the most comfortable and cute sandals.
    Have a wonderful weekend!!

  6. What a fantastic outfit! This is exactly what I want to wear! I will try to find every part of it!

  7. Although not long home from France I have been having weather envy.. I’m sure I am meant to live in a warmer climate . Saying that today we have a simmering 30 degrees (a rare occasion here). Tomorrow however we expect 18 degree which is more of a good summer norm for us.
