50 IS NOT OLD | ADDING BRIGHT COLORS TO A WHITE OUTFIT | 50 IS NOT OLDToday, on Friday With Friends, I am going to be bringing you a blogger who was one of my first blogger link ups. Nicole has been blogging for a long time, since 2013, and you might have already read her blog. I think the first thing that attracted me to her blog was the fact that she lives in Alaska. I was interested in learning about the area because my daughter was living there also. Nicole, however, lives in Fairbanks which is much farther north than Juneau, where Ashleigh was living.
50 IS NOT OLD | ADDING BRIGHT COLORS TO A WHITE OUTFIT | 50 IS NOT OLDAshleigh went to Alaska for schooling, while Nicole is a scientist that teaches. Lol! That wasn’t much of a correlation. Nicole’s blog, High Latitude Styles, has a similar feature as mine on Friday with Friends, and I co-hosted that post with her once. (see here) WOW! This was the month after I started blogging, and I had no idea what I was doing. Nicole is married, has one cat but no kids. She is a fashion, and science enthusiast from Fairbanks, Alaska and the blogger of High Latitude Style – an Alaska fashion blog with science bits for the stylish 40+ woman. She shares how to dress stylishly on trend and shows that 40+ is way too young to give up having fun with fashion (and heels).
50 IS NOT OLD | ADDING BRIGHT COLORS TO A WHITE OUTFIT | 50 IS NOT OLDI would be willing to bet that you have seen the palm print pattern in stores everywhere. It is a huge trend this summer, and it is on bathing suits, pajamas, dresses, shorts, pants, tops, well, you get the idea. I recently bought this hot pink rayon top the other day when I went to the doctor. I stopped in Versona to do some shopping, and this came home with me. The bright color immediately caught my attention, and I love how the green print pops off of the pink background. I originally bought a medium (the one in the picture), but I took it back and exchanged it for a large. It fit, but because this is a slinky material, it showed my bumps on my tummy area, and that is a big no-no for me. Here is the link to the top.
50 IS NOT OLD | ADDING BRIGHT COLORS TO A WHITE OUTFIT | 50 IS NOT OLDI added a hot pink tassel earring that I bought at a local boutique. I love how it fits snuggly in the groove of your neck, and I think that is a flattering style. The palm leaf necklace is a new purchase. The Liesel necklace is dainty and is on an adjustable gold chain from 19 to 22 inches. I added a cream and white 2-layer bracelet called Nevada. I like how it has a tassel and a seashell attachment; it looks very beachy.
50 IS NOT OLD | ADDING BRIGHT COLORS TO A WHITE OUTFIT | 50 IS NOT OLDThe pink top is a camisole style. I didn’t want to show my arms today, so I decided to add this crochet kimono/cardigan over my top. This cardigan is very old, but I will still drag it out and wear it a few times in the summer months. It provides a tiny bit of coverage without being too hot. I use this top also as a coverup over my swimsuit, so it serves multiple uses.
