Turning 59 wasn’t so bad. In case you missed yesterday’s blog post, I turned 59 years old on the 14th. I celebrated my birthday by going and having a mani/pedi that was way overdue. I hate sitting still for so long so I will put off going to the nail salon until it is a necessity. That is the same reason that I don’t get a lot of massages; I keep thinking of things that I need to be doing instead. Once again, Joe was out of town for Mother’s Day and my birthday. He goes to golfing every year with a group of men, and they always pick this time to be gone. This year, I am throwing a wrench in the works.
Today, I am headed to North Myrtle Beach, which happens to be where Joe is golfing. Lol! He might think that he can escape me by going golfing, but I know how to change his plans. Actually, he is the one who wanted me to come down and stay for the rest of the week. He is going to let one of the guys drive his truck back home, and then we will drive back home together. I used to surprise him when we first got married by showing up on his doorstep unannounced. We lived apart for several months, and he would never know when I would show up. Lol! Keeping a man on their toes is good. Hahaha! The guys that he worked with back then would get a kick out of me showing up like that. They teased him that I was keeping tabs on him, but he would beam and smile. He liked being “made over” back then and he still does today. Lol! BTW, he bought me something nice for my birthday; he just doesn’t know that he did. Lol!!!
Someone mentioned to me the other day that they would like to see me style an item in different ways. I don’t do that a lot anymore, because I thought that you would get tired of seeing the same thing over and over again. But, we have had a cold spell move through, and I wanted to wear a jacket. This linen blazer was perfect for today with enough warmth to keep me from getting cold, but it still looks like a spring outfit. I wore this blazer (here) earlier in the month, but a completely different style. Today’s look is more casual than the way that I wore the blazer earlier. The blazer is under 35.00, which is a real steal, and I am wearing a size 12. Here is the link.
I am wearing a couple of bracelet sets combined. I love the Stacia and the Rachel bracelet sets when worn together. Each of these sets come with four bracelets, so I mix and match them together all of the time. The Stacia has more blue bracelets, and the Rachel has more of the gold and black bracelets. Since my outfit had all of those colors, I decided to wear all of them together. Lol! My Meadow black earrings picked up on the thin black stripe of the blazer and the black bracelets that I am wearing. These earrings are lightweight, and they are made of wood. I haven’t layered my necklaces much this year, but my bracelets inspired me. So, today I am wearing the Stormy, (shortest) the Vienna, (longest) and the middle length necklace is retired. The Gracie necklace is almost identical though; it just doesn’t have the blue bead attached.
I love these flared jeans by Leith. I think they are soooo flattering, and I look for them all the time. I’ll be honest; I don’t know if it is the color, the fit, or the flared leg that I like. All I know is that I get compliments every time that I put them on to wear. I didn’t fall off a turnip truck last night, so I know to wear clothing that looks nice. I am wearing my Clark perforated leather sandals, c/o QVC in the color sand. These are comfortable, fashionable, and the perfect neutral for almost anything. They come in seven different colors, so you are bound to find one (probably two) that you like. They run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size which is a nine.
