Have you ever felt like everything seems to be going wrong? There was a cartoon character in Lil’ Abner called Joe Btfsplk, that always had a dark cloud over his head. I have seen people who remind me of Lil’ Abner’s Joe, and nothing seems to go right for them. I have a friend who is going through this type of season right now, and it is painful to be on the outside watching this happen.

My friend loves Jesus and talks about her love of the Lord publicly. I know that some of my readers have asked me if I ever get any “flack” about writing about the Lord on my blog, and the answer is, yes, I do. But, just like my friend, I can deal with people’s opinions and even their dislike, because they are only people. If I am going to have to answer to people or the Lord about my actions, then I would rather answer to the Lord.

However, the devil loves to attack followers of the Lord. He gets so much pleasure from trying to cause trouble, and his end goal is to have us throw in the towel and curse the Lord. My friend and I were talking the other day, and she mentioned that she and her husband were starting to have arguments, and they hadn’t argued in YEARS. Now, all of a sudden, it seemed like every time that she opened her mouth, she brought on a new argument.

Also, she is an entrepreneur, and she has launched a couple of businesses. In the past few months, her businesses seemed to be growing and flourishing. The companies were doing so well that she decided to quit her job so that she could concentrate on building those businesses, and she was so excited about the future. As soon as she gave her notice to her boss, it seemed like everything started to fall apart. The orders stopped coming in, and problems began popping up that had not been there in the past.

My friend was scared that she had made the wrong decision and I can understand why. I don’t like to sound flip, but I had to tell her what I was thinking. I told her, “the devil has you in his crosshairs.” “You have been publicly talking about your love of Jesus, and he is not happy!” “The enemy is trying to drive a wedge in your marriage, and he is trying to keep her from following her dreams of being her boss.” Instead of worrying about what the future holds, I told her that she needs to put her trust in the journey that the Lord has her on.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I know that when we are going through a rough patch in our lives and the dark cloud is over our head, it can be hard to think. But, if you can step back, and take a good look at what is happening, you might be able to see that you are under attack. And, if you find yourself under attack, then you need to suit up and go to battle.

Ephesians 6:11

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

Have A Blessed Day!

  1. If it wasn’t for your spiritual comments, your blog would be just another fashion blog! I love them and want to encourage you to keep it up! Thank you for being brave and sharing your life with our Lord!

  2. When I first subscribed to your blog I was surprised to receive your Sunday spiritual message. I viewed it as a bonus. I still view it as a bonus. Thank you. As for your friend, please tell her to ask our dear Lord to hold her, protect her and guide her through this dark time. As a young wife & mom, I went through a very tough time, I asked for His help and pretty much threw myself in His arms. He helped, guided and blessed me beyond anything I could have ever imagined. That dark time was over 30 years ago. He made me strong, gave me confidence, happiness and success. That dark time is now a blip on the screen but I will never forget it or the love of God that filled me up and moved me forward.

  3. Your Sunday blog is the reason I started reading your blog. It is what I look forward to. And you are so right, the minute you decide to get serious about serving the Lord, the devil will try to stop you, if you stop serving, then he has accomplished what he set out to do. Some of the best things the Lord has ever done for me has been during those times though and when I look back they were also the impossible things that increased my faith. Thank you for your Sunday blog articles.

  4. Well, I thought about this after I had already commented. Thank goodness for your Sunday blogs because I don’t know about you but I for one am always glad to find a fellow believer out there in this sea of people that are so different minded than I am. Letting your light shine doesn’t just help unbelievers out there but it is an encouragement to other believers that feel a little beaten up by the world out there. It just feels so good when you hear right words spoken or written, or perhaps see someone in a restaurant bow their heads to give thanks for their food. It lets you know that you are not the only one out there like that and know that I must keep shining to lift up others too.

  5. AMEN!!! I love your Sunday blogs and just ignore those naysayer’s. They are only doing the devils work!! I look forward to ALL of your posts and especially the one on Sunday. I follow several other Christian gals and they get negative posts too but don’t stop. If they don’t like it, they don’t have to read it!!

When I was going through a period of struggle a few years ago, the last thing I would do at the end of my quiet time was to physically and mentally put on the full armor of God. I would pray out loud that God would help me to put on each piece of the armor…..this addition to my prayer time made a huge difference for me. I love your Sunday messages, sweet Tania!

  8. After reading each Sunday blog, I think to myself “Tania outdid herself this week”……..well, Tania, you really outdid yourself this week! The Lord put some powerful words in your mind for your readers this week. As a seasoned woman, I have experienced the ups, downs, light, and darkness in my life and I agree that when life seems perfect, the devil has a way of stepping in and trying to muddy up the “perfectness”…..your blog today reassures, through your words and verses, that God indeed makes sure we have those “perfect” moments if we seek them and soldier on in His footsteps. Thank you, sweet Tania!

I love your focus on Christ. Never stop. I’ve been experiencing spiritual warfare too. A book that is helping me is The Law of Confession by Dr. Bill Winston. It’s very biblical, but will definitely remove dark clouds over one’s head. God bless you my sister. Read 2nd Corinthians 10:3-5

  10. This is your best Sunday blog ever. Thank you for being more than just fashion diva.

  11. First of all, I love the picture. Maybe because I need a suit of armor myself. I completely sympathize with your friend and the advice you gave her is also appropriate for me. I’m going to take it. Everywhere I turn there is a problem to fix, an interruption, a task diverting me from my path. I prayed about it 3 times and gave it up to God. It was the first time I’d really done that. And out of the blue several days later certain words crossed my mind and I knew it was the answer I was needing. I was amazed, surprised and little scared. He had actually heard me. My prayer had been answered and I felt at peace for first time in long time. It’s funny how many times your Sunday post has been exactly about issues going on in my life. Thanks for the post. It’s been a help and encouragement.

  12. Tania, you are a woman of faith and the fact that you are real and choose to be who you were created to be without any pretenses is why you are so successful. We all enjoy your fashion advice but if you didn’t go any deeper it would be easy for us to lose interest and scroll on by. Not everyone will get you and that’s okay. Keep serving the Lord and honoring His promptings and being your funny, transparent self. He has even greater things in store for those who love and follow Him! ♥️❌⭕️

  13. Thank you I look forward to your Sunday posts. This resonated with me and gave me strength.

  14. I just found your blog last week. I’ve put you on my list of regularly read blogs and one of the reasons for that is your openness about your faith in Jesus. Of course, I love the fashion stuff, too! God bless you!

  15. I personally love your Sunday posts. Some weeks I feel like they were written for me. Thank You.

  16. This was just what I needed! Thank you. I love your blog and look forward to your Sunday posts.
