Hey everyone, I want you to meet Sage. I haven’t been around a horse in a very long time, and it was a little nerve-wracking being so close to such a large animal, especially one that just met me. Horses are so majestic, and I have been mesmerized by them since I was a child. I had ponies when I was young, and I loved riding them as often as I could. I can remember begging my dad to catch my pony and saddle him so that I could go riding for a little bit. Then, my grandparents bought horses (I have no idea why since they didn’t ride) and I would go down to their house and ride one of them. My grandparents named them after the characters on Bonanza. There was Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe, and Little Joe was my pick and the one that I would ride. Little Joe was the smallest of the three horses, but he was still way bigger than the ponies that I had been used to riding. Petting Sage brought back memories of Little Joe and my grandparents. I loved strolling down memory lane and thinking about all of the days and nights that I spent at their house. It reminded me that one day my grandchildren would be fondly thinking back on the time that they spent with me, at least I hope they will. Does anyone know where I can go and buy a horse? Lol!
When I thought about going to a horse show and what I would wear, the first thing that came to mind was denim. I did remember to pack my blue denim jacket which looked great at the horse barn, but it was not sufficient enough for the cold weather that had moved in. I have to admit that I was freezing in these photos, and as soon as my sister took the pictures, I grabbed the puffer coat and put it back on. Lol! However, if it hadn’t been in the low 30’s outside, this jacket would have been perfect. The classic denim jacket is great for a weekend look, and it is just a great when paired with a fancy dress.
My graphic t-shirt says something about it being Monday and having long lashes. No, you are not confused, it is not Monday but the graphic t-shirt was cute, and I wanted to wear it. I added the Cambrie pearls because they had gold dangles that matched the gold in the graphic shirt. It might have been a stretch to wear this necklace to the horse show, but I liked the look.
I think Sage admired my boot cut jeans and ankle boots. I picked a darker pair of jeans to wear with the medium color of the denim jacket. My sister informed me that she was not a fan of the denim on denim look. I informed her that since she dresses in all black that she probably didn’t have any experience in this area. Then, I apologized to her because she was not in all black at all, she had on blue jeans and a lilac hat. There is a reason that she is the writer and I am the blogger. Lol!
Sage decided he liked me a little too much. He turned and came right toward me which tickled my niece, Rachel, but it startled me. Lol! I might have bribed him earlier with peppermint candy, and I think he must have thought that I had some more in my pockets.
