50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40I am warning you now; this is a “spit our your coffee” alert. Place any beverage that you might be drinking on the table before proceeding. This is a story about Joe, (those are the best kind,) and something that I “accidentally” did yesterday. It all started when I went by the lumber company to pick up some things that needed to go to the bank and the post office.50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40 There was a couple who walked out the door to leave right before I did. Their truck was parked so close to mine that I had to wait until the lady got in on her side (VERY SLOWLY) before I could open my door. Then they backed out to leave, and they pulled behind me. This was taking forever; it was like everything was in slow motion. Joe walked out of the lumber company, waved to me, and then started talking to a gentleman that we both know. I was keeping an eye on the truck behind me, still waiting for them to move. I saw Joe start walking toward his vehicle, still talking to the man, but I wasn’t paying him any attention. Finally, the truck behind me started to move, so I put my car in reverse, all while still watching the truck to make sure that it pulled out. From the corner of my eye, I see Joe’s arms fly straight up in the air. I turned around in my seat to look at him, and I realized that he had decided to rest against the hood of my car while he was talking to our friend. When I had put the car in reverse, it had started to move out from under him, and he thought he was falling. I am still chuckling at the look on his face. LOL!!! He thought I had done it on purpose and he might have threatened me with bodily harm. Hahaha!
50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40I just bought this brushed check shirt right before Christmas. I love the colors, and I also like the pintuck detailing at the neckline. Those simple details can make a huge difference in the look of your top. I noticed on the Nordstrom website that they said this ran large and that you should order one size down, but I still ordered my regular size at it fit me perfectly. When I put the top on and walked into the kitchen, my daughter commented on how much she liked the top. I had already decided that I was keeping the top, but that just cemented the action. This top is 100% Rayon, and it is machine wash, lay flat to dry. Here is the link to the top. 50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40This has become my favorite pairing of gold bracelets. I am wearing the Lelani link bracelet on an elastic thread and the Mary Ellen tassel bracelet. The inspirational gold bangle in the middle is a Kate Spade one that I bought last year. TODAY, I am giving away a gorgeous sparkly Kate Spade bangle, read to the end to see who the winner is.50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40 I decided to wear my red ankle boots today. The Claudia bootie by Bellini adds a little sass to this outfit. These booties are the perfect color red, they have a 3 1/2 inch heel, zipper accents, and are micro suede material. I wore them a couple of years ago (here) with a simple white top. I am shocked that they are still available for purchase. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40 I am wearing a great fitting ankle pant from Cato Fashions. These are dressy, but they feature a pull-on style waistband for comfort. That is the perfect combination when looking for a nice pant. They are also affordable, so I guess that they are the trifecta of pants. Lol! Here is the link to the pants. 50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40My baby girl, Lucy, came out to say hello to all of you. She can stand on her back legs for as long as she wants. When she wants fed something that you are eating she will stand on her back legs and look at you with those sweet pleading eyes.50 IS NOT OLD | ADD SASS TO YOUR OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40 Lucy and I wanted to share a story about a lady that I have met and I find so inspirational. Her name is Jacquie Qualls and I have always felt a connection with her because she is older, she is from a small town, the town that she is from is actually a bordering town from where I am from, and she had NO experience in the skincare industry. But, she is a hard worker and took everything one day at a time. She is a great example of the fact that you are never too old, your network is never too small, and sales doesn’t have to be in your resume. You just have to believe-work-be consistent-and never quit!!! HERE is her story. Let me know what you think and if you want to be like me and Jacquie, then message me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com

Lucy wanted to be the one to announce the winner of the Kate Spade bracelet. Ruff, ruff, ruff. You will be getting an email from me. Lol! In case you don’t speak dog, let me interrupt, the winner is Ann Neal!!! Congratulations, be on the lookout for that email from me.

Hi, Christine. Lucy is a dog that we found covered in mud walking down the railroad tracks. She has been abused because she still trembles if you pick her up and screams if you walk too close to her. We have had her about 2 years but she can’t forget her past. I am hoping that one day we will have replaced all of her prior memories with awesome new ones.

  3. Joe story…so funny.
Love the look..casual but together. As always.

  4. You always have the best stories to start my day with a chuckle. I was wondering why you paired red shoes with a pink and blue top, so I checked the shirt link to find that it is red and blue. Weird that my iPhone changed the color on your page. I love the scarf. Can you tell us about it? Have a fun weekend.

The shoes look way more red in the photos than they did in person. Plus, the blue in the top made the top appear more muted than it was in person. I almost didn’t post the pics because they looked so different. I think that the scarf was from Cato Fashions, maybe last year.

  5. You and Joe a hoot! I giggled out loud just picturing all of this taking place. Oh, those red boots with the gold zippers are fabulous, girl! Don’t stick those in the back of the closet, keep them up front and wear them more often. lol I too have a dog that was a stray that has obviously been abused, even the vet said so. He’s come a long way, but I doubt he will ever be fully emotionally healed. He’s curled up asleep in his soft fleece blankets right now. I’m so glad Lucy found her way to you so she can be loved and taken care of the way she should! Have a great weekend!

Joe thought for sure that he was going to fall when the vehicle started moving out from under him. It was hilarious!!! I will never understand people who can be mean to an animal. If they can be mean to an animal them they can be mean to a person.
