50 IS NOT OLD | SHERPA FOR WARMTH AND STYLE | FASHION OVER 40I have a joke that I made up to tell you gurls. What do people who live in the city and people who live in the mountains have in common? It takes both of them two hours to drive forty miles. You probably don’t find that as funny as I do but I have a story behind my joke. It starts with the things that you will do for your children.50 IS NOT OLD | SHERPA FOR WARMTH AND STYLE | FASHION OVER 40 My son in Tennessee decided that for Christmas, as a family gift, they would get a Newfoundland puppy. The breeder where he purchased the dog was only forty miles away from my house. But, when you live in the mountains, you have to remember the roads are not straight. Instead, we hade to go over several mountains, ride beside the river and cross bridges, and encountered a slew of “kiss your butt” curves. If you are not familiar with that term, it means that by the time your car goes around the extremely steep curve you could stick your head out the window and kiss your butt. Lol! I think that you get the idea. Haha. We went prepared to have a car sick puppy on our way home. We took baby wipes, paper towels, and even a dog seat cover just in case he threw up. However, we were pleasantly surprised since he made it home just fine. I thought you might want to meet Koda (because he looks like a Kodiac bear) and some of his new family. He will only be eight weeks old on Sunday. He is going to be HUGE!50 IS NOT OLD | SHERPA FOR WARMTH AND STYLE | FASHION OVER 40 These photos are some that have been on my camera for a couple of weeks, and I figured that I needed to show them to you before Spring rolls around. Lol! I wore red yesterday, and I thought I might as well continue the theme today. This sherpa lined vest is one that I bought last year, and I love the colors of the plaid design. I have worn this with jeans, brown, and black pants and it looks equally as good with each of those. That is the beauty of wearing an item with multiple colors.

50 IS NOT OLD | SHERPA FOR WARMTH AND STYLE | FASHION OVER 40I am pretty sure that I have never worn the Nadine earrings on the blog before. These feature a dream disk and a wooden circle on a 3″ drop. These are lightweight and easy to wear. I added the Shirley necklace with burlap, beads, crystals, and even a pink flower. I thought the burlap went with the Sherpa on the vest. I must have been feeling extra sassy since I added the Karen rhinestone ring set in a leopard print and the Raina multi-strand bracelet. Plunder Design jewelry is very well made and very affordable which is why I love their items. I can splurge on myself and not feel guilty at all. Lol! To place an order, go here, hit the shop button, pick a party with my name in it, and have fun looking at all of the beautiful jewelry.
50 IS NOT OLD | SHERPA FOR WARMTH AND STYLE | FASHION OVER 40This is one of the few boots that I own that are in this dark brown color. I usually prefer the lighter colored boots that are a caramel color like this one. This is a pair by Marc Fisher that I bought last year. 50 IS NOT OLD | SHERPA FOR WARMTH AND STYLE | FASHION OVER 40Red pants were not my first choice when I purchased this vest, but I think that they look good with it anyway. Sometimes it is good to think outside of the box and get out of your comfort zone. These are a pair of Pixie Pants from Old Navy. I love the Pixie Pants style because they are affordable, machine washable, they fit great, and they come in lots of colors and sizes. Go here to find a color or print that you like. 50 IS NOT OLD | SHERPA FOR WARMTH AND STYLE | FASHION OVER 40I had that same issue this morning where my new blog was not showing up for everyone. I don’t think to check to make sure that it is showing up on Joe’s computer because I see it and assume that everyone else can also. Nope! That has not been the case here lately. Katy, I told my son that Koda will eat them out of house and home. Lol! He is huge already! I did warn him about the drooling issue. I read somewhere that he needs to buy stock in Magic Erasers. Lol!

I love big dogs too and this little fella wormed his way into my heart in such a short time. I hated giving him up.

  3. Koda is DARLING!! I’m sure he’ll be happy with his new family in Tennessee. You’ll have to show us pic’s of him from time to time! And you, my dear, are cute as ever in your red pants and vest!!

  4. How adorable is the puppy – you must just want to cuddle him all the time. I do hope that your dog is making the pup feel at home. Loving the necklace it looks as though it has a winter rose on it

Newfoundland are a remarkable breed. We have a Waterfowl Expo here where I live. Because of our lake. Goose and duck hunting on the game reserve is very popular. They also have the Newfoundland life saving demonstrations at the lake. It’s so amazing, these gentle giants are rescue dogs. We were so impressed by what they did. If you ever get a chance to watch them work please do. This club that was here was from Pittsburgh, which is 100 miles from us. Who knew these dogs did water resume? I didn’t.

I have some friends who live at the lake and they have a Newfie. They said that the kids have a hard time getting to swim in the lake because the dog will pull them out. Lol!

Love the outfit and the puppy. I am a big dog lover. My Newfies were named Samson and Delilah. So loving with lots of slobbery kisses. Maybe yours will be a drymouth without the slobbers

You just make my day! I am so inspired to put more effort into dressing better. I actually wore jewelry while Christmas shopping this week. I even got a compliment on my accessories! I bought red pants but didn’t think i had enough courage to wear them until I saw yours! Thanks for being there for us! Merry Christmas.

Yay! I love it when compliments are dished out! I am so glad that you are going to get the red pants out and wear them.

  10. Love the outfit. Can you tell me the make of the vest. I’d love to try and find one for myself.
