Do you remember the days of the barter system? I don’t remember them myself, but there is a theatre close by me that is named the Barter Theatre. Back in the depression era, folks couldn’t pay for the tickets to watch a play and the actors were out of work. Someone came up with the idea of the actors performing and the patrons paying for their tickets with goods such as vegetables and produce. The Barter Theatre is the oldest professional theatre in the nation, and it is located in Abingdon, Virginia. I thought of that because Joe was sitting at his computer last night and he asked me, “how much are those blue pills?” Huh? When a man asks about little blue pills, it normally does not bring Rodan + Fields to mind. I said, “what are you talking about?” He then told me that he owed this lady in town some money for a product that she had picked up for him, and he asked her how much he owed. She told him that he could pay her by giving her “the blue pills.” Lol!!! She was referring to the Intensive Renewing Serum from R+F. Hahaha! I have to admit, that was a first for me. I gave him a jar of the capsules, and she is now a very happy camper. I really like this black and red plaid cardigan from Old Navy. I have had it for a while, and have worn it several times, but I am just now posting it on the blog. I like the design but I also like the pairing of black and red together. I wear these two colors together a lot so this spoke to me. It also reminded me of the buffalo plaid craze that is everywhere this year without looking like a lumberjack. The open front style is easy to wear because you don’t have to worry about the buttons pulling or bulging. Plus, the look helps you to look thinner since you are only seeing a sliver of black showing bringing your eye in toward the middle. I added the Kamryn earrings which are delicately beaded balls that are a 2.75″ drop. The Tawny black cross bracelet matched the earrings perfectly. The bracelet is on elastic so you don’t have to worry about a closure. The beautiful ruby red crystal Dottie necklace is perfect for Christmas. I was skeptical about ordering this necklace but I immediately loved it once I saw it. The necklace is adjustable from 20.5 to 23.5. Does everyone own a pair of black boots? If anyone answered, no, then pay close attention… You NEED a pair of black boots! I don’t care if they are flats, wedges, or high heels, and I don’t care if they are an ankle, a knee, or an over the knee boot, but you need one of them.
The black jeans that I have on today are a pair that I could wear daily and I could even sleep in them. They are Curves 360 by NYDJ, a brand that I have come to LOVE. I am a cheapo when it comes to most clothing, so for me to pay over 50.00 for a pair of jeans means that they have to be specials. This brand is special! These are flattering but they do tend to stretch as you wear them so you might want to size down. I am wearing a size 8 and I normally wear a size 10. I had a wonderful conversation today with a lovely lady via Facebook messenger. She and I were talking about my Rodan + Fields business and she said, “You make people want to be a part of it, and your sincerity shows. It shows in your enthusiasm, smile and beautiful skin! Keep on doing what you are doing Tania Stephens! You will make it to the top.” I was honored by her message and I can tell you tonight that when I think back on the day and think of three things that I am grateful for (a new nightly practice) this message and her friendship will be on my list!
