50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK IS ELEGANT | FASHION OVER 40Today I am off to a vintage fashion show in Marietta Georgia. My mother and her friend Donna have been holding these shows for years. I got hooked on them over 10 years ago and I try not to miss them if I can help it. I love almost everything vintage, especially when it comes to jewelry. I have a HUGE jewelry chest that used to be a vintage printer cabinet. Once I had it refinished I felt obligated to fill it up. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK IS ELEGANT | FASHION OVER 40 Unfortunately, I have done such a good job of filling it up that I don’t have a lot of room left in the chest to more jewelry. My mom and Donna think that I just need to buy another chest. Lol! Joe thinks that I need to let my mom and Donna just sell all of my vintage jewelry but then what would I put in my lovely chest? I guess that I could fill it with pearls, gold, and diamonds if he really wants me to. Hahahaha! But, I think that the vintage suits me better. What do your girls think? BTW, if you want to see how I store all of my jewelry, you can check it out here50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK IS ELEGANT | FASHION OVER 40You gurls know that I love lots of colors in my clothing but I believe that everyone should have some black in their wardrobe. There are some occasions that call for black and you want to be prepared. I own a lot of black pants, at least one or two black dresses, and a couple of black cardigans. Most of the time I will add a brighter color to the outfit but today I decided to keep it more monotone. My black shawl cashmere cardigan is soft, cozy, and it takes an ordinary look and gives it a hint of elegance. I am wearing a medium and it fits great.
50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK IS ELEGANT | FASHION OVER 40The Eileen earrings feature white and gray marbling in a square shape. These are super cute and not huge. I know a lot of you might not like the large statement earring trend and this is a nice compromise. The Frankie long black necklace is currently out of stock but you can keep checking back if that is something that you are interested. The black Tawny bracelet features a gorgeous cross and the Becca bracelet features large gray marbled beads. Both of these bracelets are on an elastic cord. 50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK IS ELEGANT | FASHION OVER 40This pair of black dress boots can be worn with jeans, dresses, or pants. They are a versatile item that you will wear over and over and over. I love the look of a winter coat with a pair of boots. This pair is by Bandolino and I bought these at Belk’s one year when they were on the clearance rack. I always check the sales racks first!

50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK IS ELEGANT | FASHION OVER 40The light gray crinkle camisole is one that I bought at Maurices. I love going there for their jeans and their camis. It is worth the trip just for those two items. The black pants are the same ones that I wore in this post50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK IS ELEGANT | FASHION OVER 40Rodan and Fields have just announced two Holiday specials for a limited time. I was thrilled that they picked some of my favorite products and ones that I know that you will love! The Super Serum set includes the  Active Hydration Serum and the Intensive Renewing Serum and it is fantastic for ALL skin types. It doesn’t matter if you are acne prone or have sensitive skin, these products will work for you. The cold and dry winter weather takes a toll on our skin and these two products are just what the doctor ordered. The best part is, when purchased as a Holiday Special they are at a 15% savings. Plus, you will also receive an additional 10% off and free shipping when purchased as a Preferred Customer! The second Holiday Special is the Ultimate Renewal Set and it consists of the Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream and the Redefine Lip Renewing Serum. If you want to make someone very, very happy, then put one of these products in their stocking! The savings is the same for this bundle as the Serum bundle above. I thought you might want to see my vintage jewelry chest. I am thankful that my mom instilled in me the love for all things vintage. What are you thankful for that your mom gave you a love for?

Have a wonderful time at the jewelry event. California really doesn’t have anymore swap meets down here in San Diego. Your collection looks quite big! You could really get dressed up with your granddaughter. She would love it!

  3. I’m swooning over your Jewelry Chest, that’s incredible!! The wood is amazing, those cast iron drawer pulls are to-die-for. The lined, sectioned drawers are an organizers dream. I love vintage furniture pieces and this one ranks up there as one of my favorites!!

My granddaughters would never leave your room. I might not either. Lol

  5. Hi Tania
I am thankful for the love of reading that my mom gave me. She read to me every night as a child, and I read every day. I tried to pass that on to my kids and my son also has the love of reading.
Your vintage jewelry collection is awesome!!

  6. I love your vintage jewelry box, it is just beautiful and perfect for keeping your pieces separate. Have a great time at the vintage show and enjoy your family♡♡♡

  7. Wow! After watching your jewelry video, you really are aging backwards!
My sweet mama gave me a love for Jesus. <3

. I too have always wondered how you stored all that jewelry. So thanks for sharing. That is an awesome kabinet! You have some amazing vintage pieces. I hope you had a blast at the show. Sure hope your neck is better today and your throat.

  9. My mom gave me the love of food and cooking for the family. My moma was a stay at home mother. She cooked every meal. Even some type of bread at every meal. I still work outside of the home full time but when I can and have the time I love to cook for my grown children and families. I think in this hurry up world we have lost the art of cooking and eating together as a family. Please share your vintage finds.

  10. I love black with a pop of color or not!! 😂 That vintage jewelry chest is beautiful!!! I can’t believe the amount of items in there!! I thought you had a lot of jewejry, but O.M.G.!!! 😱😱😱. You could have your own vintage jewelry fashion show!!
PS – I really loved that vintage purse you bought.
