50 IS NOT OLD | TRENDY, FASHIONABLE AND OVER 50 | FASHION OVER 40What a WILD weekend. It was part funny and part terrifying. As you probably seen me post all last month, I was having a special offer for anyone who ordered from my skincare business and I was busy answering questions, emailing, texting, and talking on the phone. I didn’t want anyone who wanted to take advantage of the special miss out because they forgot what day it was. That was the fun part of the weekend. But, late Saturday evening, I heard from my son and daughter in law in Tennessee that their youngest son was not feeling well.50 IS NOT OLD | TRENDY, FASHIONABLE AND OVER 50 | FASHION OVER 40 He had been sick earlier last week and they were told that he had a bacterial infection and that it would last around 3 days. His cousin had it also and after 3 days he was feeling fine. Then, his older brother got it and he also got over it in about 3 days. But, little bit just couldn’t seem to shake it. Come to find out, there is about 10 to 15 percent of adults and children who get this who develop a syndrome and have to be hospitalized. There is nothing that strikes fear in the hearts of parents more than having your child sick. This is not extremely rare but it is not common either. The doctor in Nashville said that he only sees about 10 to 12 cases a year. But, thankfully, he thinks that they have caught it early and that he might only have a mild case but they are doing testing to find out for sure. Please say a prayer for my little man and that he feels better soon. Being in the hospital is no fun at all, especially for a soon-to-be 6-year-old.50 IS NOT OLD | TRENDY, FASHIONABLE AND OVER 50 | FASHION OVER 40 I LOVE this tea-stained top by Easel! Joe looked at me and said it looked “motley” but I love the effect. It kind of blends into my brick wall here but it has rained for the last week and I had no choice about taking pictures. This is soft, slouchy, comfortable, and cute as a button. You can wear this one off the shoulder (as shown) or just as a boatneck or let it fall off one shoulder. Either way, you choose to wear it, it is super cute. This is made to be oversized and I am wearing a medium. This came from a local boutique and I don’t think that she had any left. Here are a few similar items or maybe you can find it online but I didn’t see it.

50 IS NOT OLD | TRENDY, FASHIONABLE AND OVER 50 | FASHION OVER 40Since Leopard is a neutral, I thought I would wear it with this neutral colored top. The Frankie bracelet is still available in the fall catalog but the earrings didn’t make the cut, they have been retired. 😟I really hate that the earrings were retired because I loved the olive leather tassel and I think that it was perfect for the fall. I would like to thank so many of you for ordering last month. You gurls were smart to take advantage of my Blog Anniversary special. I will be getting the free jewelry in the mail to you this week. There were so many of you that it might take me a day or two to get all the packages labeled and mailed. If you want to see more of the fall jewelry that I have already gotten in, be sure to look at last Friday’s post50 IS NOT OLD | TRENDY, FASHIONABLE AND OVER 50 | FASHION OVER 40Distressed and fringed jeans!!! These jeans have been a favorite of mine this year. I love the casual look but they also say that I am trendy and fashionable. Did you have any idea that jeans with holes and ripped hems would ever be called fashionable? LOL!!! That is the world of fashion. Have you ever watched any of the fashion shows in New York or London? Wow! I can’t imagine ever wearing most of what I see on those but there will usually be some little detail that will make it to the general population like you and me. These jeans were a purchase last year but here are some similar ones.

50 IS NOT OLD | TRENDY, FASHIONABLE AND OVER 50 | FASHION OVER 40With the leopard print jewelry, I needed to wear these ballet slippers. You would be surprised how much you will wear slippers like this after you get over the initial shock of seeing leopard print on your feet. Lol!!! The first time that I wore shoes like this I thought everyone would stare or say something. Imagine my shock when they paid them no attention at all. Lol! We let our thoughts keep us from trying new things worrying about what others will think. That is just crazy!!! Most people don’t even notice what we are even wearing. Lol!

  1. Haha. Love Joe’s description of your top. I hope your grandson is on the mend soon. As you stated there is nothing more worrying than when your child is poorly.

  2. Another great outfit. You look fabulous as always. I currently own 3 pairs of leopard print flats. A girl can never have too many. Thoughts and prayers to little man for a speedy recovery.

Thanks, Linda, for thinking for my little man. I feel like he is getting better and I hope to hear confirmation of that soon. I agree with you about the leopard flats, you can never have too many. Lol!

  3. Hope your little boy is feeling better! I’ll say a prayer for him. Love the shoes and am finally warming up to the frayed hem look on jeans. Some how that hemline looks like a mistake to me. I like the top on you but I look better in fitted options! Although I should try this one and go outside my comfort zone! Best…kathy

Kathy, I like how you were talking yourself into getting outside of your comfort zone. You might just surprise yourself.

  4. Tania, WOW girl I do not know what you are doing but you look amazing. I had to pin this outfit because it is adorable and looks so great on you. Keep up the great work.

Love your jeans! I have three grown daughters and my youngest (she’s 28) gave me a pair of her distressed jeans. Pretty sure my friends (I’m 60) don’t like them or think I’m too old for them but I don’t care. They are so comfortable and I think they’re cute! I love your top too!

Good for you, Donna!!! I like that attitude! Wear what you like and let them wear what they like.

Your skin looks amazing in the 1st photo with no makeup! You could literally fix your eyes, put on lipstick and walk right out the door.

  7. Super cute look today. And I’m not crazy about jeans that distressed but you make them work. I have couple pair with very little distressing but I may have to try a pair like this. My Dad would laugh at me for spending money on torn up jeans!! I’m ordering the new product from R & F today. Been waiting in it. Hope your grandson recovers quickly. It’s scary when they are that age and in hospital. We experienced that with my son at that age and it was awful. My prayers are with him and his family.

What a fun top w those great crop jeans and leopard print accessories! Bummer about the the earrings! I’m SO sorry about your grandson and will pray for his healing.

  8. Love the color of the top but for me it would be the cowl neck that you posted. Can’t do that type of neck as it makes me look like I have a chicken neck sticking out the top and I know I’d always be pulling it closer to my neck. Praying for speedy healing for your grandson.

  9. Good morning, Honey. SO sorry your little grandson isn’T feeling well. I’ll be praying for your little man. I ❤️Your top! You look darling!
