50 IS NOT OLD | SELF DEVELOPMENT AND PERSONAL GROWTH | FASHION OVER 40In my never-ending quest to improve myself and my blog, I started a five-day training course on Monday. Every day a new video was uploaded and a different topic was talked about. This week has been swamped for me so I just couldn’t find the time to sit down and listen to the videos. They were only about 30 minutes long but I still couldn’t find the time. Today was the last day for the videos so I was determined that I would make this a priority. I went back and started with video 1 and I listened to ALL 5 of the videos and took notes. It took me longer than 3 1/2 hours because I would have to stop for phone calls or Joe would come in and need something, but I finished the course and felt good about myself.50 IS NOT OLD | SELF DEVELOPMENT AND PERSONAL GROWTH | FASHION OVER 40 After the course was finished, guess what I did? I signed up for all kinds of classes from this person and made an investment in my business and in my personal growth and development. If nothing else has come from me starting a blog, I am happy just because I have been doing a ton of self-development books and videos. I watch, read, or listen to something daily. I used to think that this was just people trying to sell books and that I would read them and not really get anything from my time and effort. I was wrong! They are trying to sell books, etc., but a lot of them are actually trying to help you discover the person inside of you that you have either hidden, forgot about, never let develop, or just didn’t know you had. I probably fall into the last category and I bet a lot of you do also. I simply never knew what I was capable of doing more because I never put myself out there. I hated trying new things because I might not be good at it. I was afraid that I would fail or that people would snicker and laugh at me. I watched other’s step out and try new things but I simply concentrated on what I already knew and what I was good at. I was content. I was also stagnant. I had quit growing and evolving. Guess what, you either continue to grow or you will start to lose ground because nothing or no one can remain the same. Don’t give up on life. Branch out and learn something new. Expand your horizons.50 IS NOT OLD | SELF DEVELOPMENT AND PERSONAL GROWTH | FASHION OVER 40 I just love the look of tie-dye. Maybe I am having flashbacks to my youth but there is something comforting to me about this pattern. How many of you have ever tried to do a tie-dyed shirt? Mine never turned out and all I would get was a muddy looking mess. Lol! However, my daughter and DIL are both very good at it. This dress is cute and very flattering on. It has the high empire waist, which is flattering to most people, and it also has the deep v-neckline and a wrap style. All of those features are flattering by themselves but this dress combines all of them. I am wearing a size large in this dress for a size reference. You will see later how the dress has a slit up one side so the dress is only lined down to that point. It is rayon so you can hand wash this and then lay flat to dry. I love the color combinations on this dress. The colors are bright enough to wear in the summer season but you can easily wear this in the fall as well by adding a cardigan or jacket. The dress is by One Clothing and you can find it by going here.
50 IS NOT OLD | SELF DEVELOPMENT AND PERSONAL GROWTH | FASHION OVER 40I can’t believe that I waited so long to purchase this necklace. I thought that I wouldn’t like it and instead, I love it!!! I was afraid that it would topple over and not look like it does in the catalog. But, when I put it on it lays flat and is beautiful. I love the big blue flower in the middle. You can’t see very well here but it is acrylic and it is transparent. I showed this to my Energizer Bunny Friend and she gave it the thumbs up. She is over 20 years younger than me so this is a necklace for all age groups. Plunder has this necklace in a bundle which will save you 10.00. Just click here to find it. The bundle comes with a bracelet and earrings but that was not available when I purchased mine. Instead, I have on the Ciara earrings which are a favorite of mine. The gold filigree earrings go well with the gold in the necklace and the gold in the outfit. Don’t forget about my month-long giveaway. I am celebrating by offering a free piece of jewelry with every 50.00 purchase (excluding taxes and shipping) made this entire month! Go here and have fun shopping! Make sure that you pick a party with my name in it so that I can track the purchases. 50 IS NOT OLD | SELF DEVELOPMENT AND PERSONAL GROWTH | FASHION OVER 40I know a lot of you have trouble with your feet. Wearing heels are not an option and finding cute shoes can be a struggle. This pair might be for you! This is a comfortable shoe by Vionic which has three straps and an ankle-wrapping slingback to create a flattering cutout effect on podiatrist-approved sandals with a covered block heel for sturdy comfort. That was a mouthful. Lol! I am wearing the brown color option but these also come in Black and Merlot. Just because you have foot trouble doesn’t mean that you don’t want to look fashionable. These do run true to size, I am wearing my normal size 9. Go here to check these out. 50 IS NOT OLD | SELF DEVELOPMENT AND PERSONAL GROWTH | FASHION OVER 40I have seen these lace kimonos in several stores this fall. Either they are popular or all of the stores that I frequent buy their clothing from the same place. Lol! I have seen these in black, white, and black & white but this was the first one that I had seen in this gorgeous mustard color. I really like that and I can see me wearing this with jeans and a t-shirt or over a swing dress.

If anyone would ask me what was the one thing that I would change about my skin I would tell them that I wish it was soft. I think my dry skin is an inherited condition and then menopause and a thyroid condition have made it even worse. My poor skin was beginning to resemble an alligators skin with the bumps and all. I’ll be honest, when R+F announced the newest product was the Active Hydration Body Replenish I was ecstatic but not real hopeful. I figured that the cream would be nice (duh) but I really didn’t have high hopes that it would work on my skin. The difference is already remarkable! My skin used to feel like sandpaper on my arms, (a lovely thing to have) and now they are almost subtle. I swear that I am now obsessed with telling everyone about this miracle cream. If it works half as good for you as it has for me you will be sending me a thank-you letter. Lol! Buying this alone does not qualify for a Preferred Customer order which would get you a 10% discount and free shipping. But, if you purchase the Active Hydration Serum (for your face) and the Active Hydration Body Replenish BUNDLE then you get it at a 15% discount over buying them separately plus as a PC you would receive another 10% off plus free shipping. That is a great deal and you can check it out by going here. Don’t forget to become a PC and I will reimburse you the enrollment fee!

  1. Like you this autumn/winter I will be trying to learn more on how to progress with my blog. It will be 12 months since I started at the end of this month and I think I can see it getting better. I only post weekly but would love to see more people sign up as the hots have improved 10 fold.
Shoes and comfy shoes are a problem I have finding, my feet are wide and I have a high instep so pointed shoes and loafers/brogues are very uncomfy. This autumn style of square toes should be great for me. 😊

  2. Good Morning!
Where did you find your mustard Klimono? I love the color and pattern.

Let me check your settings, Anne. Some people did not pick weekly so it didn’t send it out to them.

  4. Tania, would you please give us a list of books, podcasts and whatever else you are using for self-development? I need some inspiration. Thank you!

Yes, definitely…I’m very interested and curious. And, if you say it’s good, I know it will be. Many thanks….

    Hi Tania!
I love your daily blog! You inspire me to not look so frumpy! Lol! I tried to sign up for your weekly blog, got the confirmation, but then had a panic attack that if I get your weekly blog I might not get your daily blog! Heaven forbid! I’m really not sure what I’m signed up for now. I definitely haven’t gotten a weekly blog yet, but I’m happy bc I’m still getting your daily blog! You make me laugh! Thank you for being you!

I cannot find that necklace. Could you name it, so I can search the sight for it? As I am scrolling down on your shopping sight, it does blank out for a moment as it goes through….maybe I am just missing it. But I really like that necklace! Thanks!
