50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO ACHIEVE EFFORTLESS STYLE | FASHION OVER 40Are you someone who packs ahead and has everything done a week before your trip? I am on the other end of the spectrum. I am one of those who will pack the night before we leave or even the day of the trip. Lol! I go through and pick out so many things because I can’t decide what I am for sure going to wear. Then, because I don’t try it on first, I take more than I will ever wear just because I don’t know if it will fit or look right. Are any of you shaking your head right now? I also end up with the wrong shoes and the wrong jewelry because I didn’t put it all together beforehand and I get ill when I think about what I have at home that would look perfect with the outfit.50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO ACHIEVE EFFORTLESS STYLE | FASHION OVER 40 I made a deal with my Energizer Bunny Friend that I would try on at least 2 outfits a day, complete with shoes and jewelry, and lay them aside to pack in my suitcase. That was Sunday and so far I hadn’t done a single outfit but the great thing was, neither had she. Lol! I figure that I will need at least 2 outfits per day. One outfit to go to trainings and meetings and then another outfit for dinners that we have scheduled for every night that we are there. Today, I started the process. I am so proud of myself for this tiny little accomplishment that I have done. I actually got together about 5 or 6 outfits with all of the accessories. Here is the only problem that I can foresee happening; I will probably change my mind about several of the outfits that I have picked out. Hahaha! The good thing is that we are flying first class and we get 2 suitcases for free and they can weigh up to 70 lbs. each!!! I can just see me now trying to navigate in the airport with 2 huge suitcases, talk about comical!50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO ACHIEVE EFFORTLESS STYLE | FASHION OVER 40 This wrap top that was in my recent Trunk Club shipment (join here) combines casual style and a chic look at the same time. I love the pleats and folds of the top that makes it look effortless and gives a great draping effect. The deep plunge v-neck might be a little lower than I would normally wear so I can remedy that by moving the snap later just a little higher on the lapel. The tie closure adds to the casual look and gives it some visual interest. This is hand wash an line dry and I am wearing a size medium. Go here to see the top. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO ACHIEVE EFFORTLESS STYLE | FASHION OVER 40I thought the turquoise accessories look good with the lilac color. I chose the Serena necklace and the Makia earrings for that pop of turquoise color. The Serena necklace even has a brightly colored stone and a cream marble stone pendant. The bracelet is multi-strands on different colors and added a little fun to the look. Today is the LAST day to purchase any of the retiring jewelry. If you want a list of the items that are retiring then let me know. This month is my 3 year Blog anniversary! I can’t believe that it has been that long! I am celebrating by offering a free piece of jewelry with every 50.00 purchase (excluding taxes and shipping) made this entire month! Go here and have fun shopping! Make sure that you pick a party with my name in it so that I can track the purchases. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO ACHIEVE EFFORTLESS STYLE | FASHION OVER 40I bought these NYDJ pull-on release hem jeans a couple of months ago and they were in my Trunk Club shipment also. Lol! Listen, when you live in the boonies and have no shopping opportunities this is a life saver. I really like the free shipping and returns. I can try on my items in my home and with my clothing that I already own. I have become a huge fan of NYDJ jeans. I had never bought this brand before until they started coming in my TC shipments and now I am hooked. They fit so nicely and I love the shape enhancing features.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO ACHIEVE EFFORTLESS STYLE | FASHION OVER 40The discounts for my Blog Anniversary extends to my Rodan + Fields products also. I gave out the details in yesterday’s post about the Buy More and Get More From Me sales that are going on. But, I have an extra special for NEW Preferred Customers. I want everyone to at least “try” Rodan + Fields but some people balk at paying the one-time enrollment fee of 19.95. This month, because of my anniversary, I will reimburse the 19.95 back to all NEW PC’s. This is not something that I normally do so be sure to take advantage of this while you can. Go HERE to my website, shop for the products you want, go to checkout, click on the enroll as a Preferred Customer, and then hit continue. As Emersyn says, “Easy Peasy” but if you do run into problems just let me know. Remember, you have a 60-day money back guarantee so what have you got to lose? Oh, yeah……….age spots, lines, wrinkles, acne, etc. Lol!!!

  1. Aaaaargh packing! I am terrible at it. Shoes are the worse as you need just the right pair to go with an outfit and never the same pair lol.
P.s I have not received your news letter either.

Flying FIRST CLASS! That will be a real treat.

Placed order with Plunder yesterday, and the site said I was shopping with you, but did not show a party to pick. However, when I check today, it shows that information. Hopefully, you are still able to track my order. Thanks for all you do for us ladies!

Thanks for letting me know, Deborah. I didn’t see the order since it wasn’t in a party. It is a good thing that you let me know. I hope you enjoy all of the new jewelry headed your way.

  3. You made me laugh this morning. I will pack at least 1 week in advance for overnight trips. I start planning what I will wear as early as 2-3 weeks in advance. Hubs and I are planning a trip to Las Vegas in October and I already started planning my wardrobe. My hubs on the other hand will just through stuff together the day of and call it good. Love the top and the color on you is fabulous. Hope you resolved your dry skin issue that you mentioned the other day.

Oh my goodness, Linda. You make me tired just thinking about it. Lol! It sounds like your husband and I are more alike. My skin is getting soooo much better! I am already through 1 1/2 jars of the new Active Hydration Body Replenish and I am so happy with the results. For the first time in forever, I have soft skin. Thank you for asking.

      • Is there by chance a body wash that goes with the Body Replenish? I am very strange in that I need to have matching body wash and lotion scents. It’s amazing how something as small as your thyroid can cause all sorts of issues.

        • Tania Reply

Linda, there isn’t a body wash yet. Who knows, they are launching a new product on the 14th, so there might be soon. Lol!

As always, this is a great outfit! I really love your style — I want to just likehou! LOL! I enjoy your photos the most when you do your “traditional”way of losing on your porch. The other settings are pretty, but I can really see all the details best in the “old” porch photos. Just my two cents! 😊

    • Tania Reply

Haha! Marceline, I intend to do both ways for now. When it is pretty then I am going outdoors and when it is rainy or too sunny for pictures outside, then I will be on the porch.

  5. Like this look. Especially the top. It gets pinned today for my stylist. I’m trying Trunk Club and hope they send me a pair of that brand jeans. What fun to fly first class. My husband said it’s the only way to fly, however I’ve not done it myself. Enjoy. Look forward to pictures from your travels.

    • Tania Reply

I am sure they will send you a pair of jeans by this brand, Johnna. If not, then send your stylist a message and ask for a pair. My trip is being paid for by Rodan + Fields, so that is why I splurged.

  6. Christie Jeske Reply

I’m doing all of that even as we speak! Have a trip to SF where it’s cool, I land where it’s hot, then to Portland where it’s rainy! I need 2 suitcases!

    • Tania Reply

That makes it hard to pack when you are going to have such a difference in climates. I hope you have a blast. Those places are so pretty!

  7. Forgot to say that I’m a plan ahead gal and would freak out if I waited until last minute to pack for a trip. Oh and I’m looking forward to receiving my cream.

  8. Your Trunk Club stylist nails your style! (Or maybe you don’t show us the ones that miss the mark). Anyhow – it makes me want to try it! I love the pink top today…v-necks are my preferred neckline too. Have a blast on your trip! Enjoy being spoiled in first class!

  9. I usually pack the day before a trip, sometimes selecting jewelry and shoes the day of, if I have time. I do plan in my head what I think I’ll pack. I always try on items I haven’t worn recently to make sure they fit….I can’t imagine just throwing stuff in, lol! If I’m flying, I pack a carryon these days since I don’t have the luxury of flying First Class anymore (retired). That can be tricky cause I do tend to want to overpack!

  10. Hi, Tania. Can you please make sure I’m on your weekly newsletter email list too? Thanks so much. I never did receive a confirmation. I see your link above to your first newsletter–thanks!

  11. I need to take time to look into Trunk Club and…I have never tried on a pair of NYDJ so something I need to do. I am one that packs a week ahead; I should say I lay my clothes out a week ahead. It’s too stressful for me to wait til the day before. My hubby packs the night before or if we are only going for one night, he packs the morning of. I need time to think about what I want to wear. I was wondering if you could see if I am on the newsletter list please. I signed up but did not get a confirmation. Thank you.

  12. I am always impressed by the way you can pull outfits together. However, some of more mature ladies need a little help with picking out the correct under garments. Would you do a blog on that one day soon?

Have a great trip to New Orleans. Let the good times roll.

  13. Wow, you were talking about me when it comes to waiting to the last minute to get an outfit together! I used to be better, but now that I have a much more busy life I am finding it more difficult to spend time trying on outfits prior to the day I need them. I do have a huge amount of wardrobe pieces that will mix and match that make the task more daunting at times. I guess we all just have to bite the bullet and find the time. Sigh….
