50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU WEAR A PRINTED PANT | FASHION OVER 40I am really running on 3/4 time today. It rained and stormed last night and I didn’t sleep well. Normally, when it is rainy I will sleep like a baby but not this time. I woke up and immediately wanted to pull the cover back over my head and go back to sleep. Lol! I am retired after all so why not? Then I got the “big eye” and just laid there looking at the ceiling thinking of all the things that I needed to be up and doing. Why, oh why, won’t the brain do what you tell it to do? It is funny, sometimes I will lay in bed and pretty much write my blog post in my mind. I’ll talk about this or that and I can’t wait to hop out of bed in the morning to go and write. Then, just like when you have a dream that you can’t remember what you dreamed, I won’t be able to remember what I was going to talk about. One of Joe’s attorney friends told me that he kept a pen and paper on his nightstand just for those type situations. I have a couple of problems doing that though. 1. I don’t want to wake up Joe by turning on any kind of light. I am not being super nice here, he is just such a grouch if he gets woken up and doesn’t get his beauty sleep. Lol! And, number 2, I don’t have a nightstand OR a light on my side of the bed. Lol! I wonder what Joe would think if I went to bed every night with a headlamp and a pen and pad under my pillow? Hahahaha! 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU WEAR A PRINTED PANT | FASHION OVER 40Here we go with look number 4! I am anxious to hear what you have been thinking about my t-shirt series. Are the outfits different enough for you to not notice that I am wearing the same shirt over and over again? Have any of you tried to duplicate any of the outfits yet? I added a cardigan again to this look today. I like a bright color next to my face because I feel like it brightens your face. I love how it will reflect on your skin. I do think the pink is a great color for blondes (thank you to my hairdresser) so you can experiment with what color looks best against your skin tone.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU WEAR A PRINTED PANT | FASHION OVER 40I think the Nettie necklace from Plunder Design looks great with this look. I laughed when I saw the necklace picture though because I found a little blue tassel the other day and thought it was something of Emersyn’s. I can now see that it was off of my necklace. Lol! I need to remember where I put that. Since I had a colorful necklace on I wanted to add a plain earring. I chose the gold Misha earrings. These add an element of fun but not the color. For bracelets, I added the Sequoia, the Kelsey, and the Kayson. These are all magnetic closure bracelets and great for anyone who has a hard time putting bracelets on. It is getting that time of the year when Plunder is getting ready to discontinue a lot of pieces to make room for the new fall and winter collection. If you would like a list of the retiring pieces then just let me know and I will email you the list. If you wish to make a purchase then go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and pick a party in my name. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU WEAR A PRINTED PANT | FASHION OVER 40How is this for a splash of color???? These super cute leggings are not for the faint of heart. I found these at a little boutique when I went to the Atlanta area to visit with my sister. We went to get a spray tan and Glitzy Chicks was right next door. You know with a name like Glitzy Chicks that I had to go shopping, but I have been there before so I knew I liked their clothing. This is the store where I bought these cute shoes. I was immediately drawn to these pants by Aryeh but my sister rolled her eyes. We are as unlike as possible since I am all about color and she is all about black. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU WEAR A PRINTED PANT | FASHION OVER 40I thought you might want to see a picture of the outfit without the cardigan. I realize that everyone might not like the hot pink so you could easily leave it off. You might even like the outfit better without the cardigan. I think the cardigan “completes” the outfit and makes it a little more dressy. If I was just running around town then this look would be fine. The shoes that I added are a pair of Marc Fisher cork wedge sandals that I bought a couple of years ago. They are a neutral color so I can wear them with almost everything. Hey, my toenail polish even matches my outfit! Now, that is being coordinated!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU WEAR A PRINTED PANT | FASHION OVER 40I have started a group page on Facebook called, “What if? Is R+F right for you?” I am going to be going live on the page TONIGHT talking about what Rodan + Fields is, how I make it work into my busy schedule, and seeing if it is right for you. Because I hear soooooo many people say, “but I don’t have a blog” I am inviting several of my R+F friends to come live on different days and tell how they got involved with R+F, why they got involved, and how it works for them and hopefully you can see that anyone can do this business. Donna, who lives in Canada, will be coming to you on Friday. I would love for you to join me in this group, there is no obligation and I will not be contacting you if you do not ask me to. This is simply a learning group. I love what R+F has done for my skin, my confidence, and my finances and I would love to share that with all of you. Click here and request to join the group. I will be having giveaways in the group this month so don’t hesitate to join.If you missed the past three looks then be sure to check it out herehere and here.

  1. Really enjoying this weeks articles on the different ways of wearing the same t-shirt. So far I have enjoyed each styling. You have me wondering what you will do for the next 2 days?

  3. LOVE this outfit! If you had a type of trunk club it’s an outfit I’d buy in a skinny minute!

  4. Really shows what you can do with a basic tshirt, I love that you always talk about the accessories, they can make the outfit for sure!

  5. This outfit “pops” and thank you for showing that it is ok that a shirt sticks out of a shorter sweater! Just this week I added a sweater and it was shorter then my top so I took it off. And…my sister and I are completely opposite too but I am like your sister and the one wearing black…LOL

  6. Great ideas, I bought some patterned pants and am now thinking of ways to build an outfit, thanks to your help!

  7. Hi Tania – I’ve been reading your blog for years now and enjoy it. Today, however, I just noticed that your hair is a little different – more asymmetrical – and it really looks good on you. I’m going to try it, too. Thanks for keeping us entertained with your posts!

  8. Love the series. I really like the outfit too. I never would have thought of wearing a navy shirt with those pants. You definitely have an eye for color combinations. Have a great day!

  9. Great idea for a series and love the pants. I’m more like your sister but I have fuchsia frames on my glasses. It adds color to my face. Love your blog!

  10. Cute outfit, but I just have to ask….how can you not have a bedside table & lamp? I read every night before I fall asleep & need a place for my glass of water, tissues, lip balm, phone & glasses 😊

LOVE the outfit! I tend to be like your sister wearing black. I want to be like you and wear beautiful bright colors, but I don’t like drawing attention to myself. I love the t-shirt series! Hope you’re enjoying retirement. I sure do!!

After seeing your cute colorful cardigans, I jumped in the car and headed to the mall. We’re lucky to have one 10 minutes from home! I went in to Old Navy and found exactly what I wanted…on sale! A leopard print cardi and a kelly green tee shirt. Love this combo with jeans. I also have a kelly green cardi and a leopard shirt…have received many compliments on the combination. Looking forward to cooler weather to wear sweaters! We’re in Washington state…we need some rain to help put out all of the forest fires!
