The other day one of my readers said that the great thing about retirement was that they could pick up and go at the drop of a hat. I just experience that for the first time. I traveled to my parents on Monday and the plan was for me to return home on Wednesday, notice I said plan. My sister came to their house also but she had to go back to Georgia on Tuesday. This is where it gets interesting. My sister was telling everyone goodbye on Monday night because she knew that she wouldn’t be seeing them anymore before she left. She asked our teenage niece if she wanted to go home with her but that was a no go. Then she moved on to the younger niece but since she was going to have to work on Wednesday and there wasn’t anyone to watch her that was a no go also. In desperation, she asked my mom if Finley the dog could go and play with her dog but once again she was turned down flat. The next day while we were sitting around my sister mentioned that no one wanted to go home with her, not even the dog. “You didn’t even ask me” is what I said and she looked surprised. “Do you want to go?” A quick phone call to Joe to confirm that he didn’t have a problem with me going and I was off on my next big adventure. Lol!! I might get used to this retirement life. 😊I really like my hot pink crinkle tee the was c/o Purple Poppy. This is one of those kinds of tops that you can pull out of your closet and wear with a lot of different things. When I styled it the first time I wore it with a skirt and then I have worn it with jeans and now with shorts. It was casual and comfortable and had the cute slits at the shoulders to make it unique. But today, I want to show you how adding different accessories can really make a difference in the look of a top. You can do the same thing with any plain t-shirt or top that you might have in your closet. Here are some cute ones that would work.
I will see who my “wild” readers are by who orders any of these items. I love animal print but even I was a little worried if I would wear this set. I got a ton of compliments so what do I know. Lol! The Judith necklace is a real showstopper. It is 27 inches long and has a full mane of olive colored fringe. The 5 stone, which is attached to the cream and leopard print fabric, are a light pink and marbled looking The matching Juanita earrings are a little tamer if you want to start with baby steps. Lol! They have a leopard print circle and the olive tassel drops from there. The Frankie bracelet has sold out several times and has to be a best seller. All of the multi-leather strands are cute and the magnetic closure makes it easy to put on and take off. Since I told you in yesterday’s post that I had a pair of beige bermuda shorts I just decided t go ahead and show them to you. Lol! Some of you commented that you really like this type of shorts and some said that you didn’t like the style on you. Isn’t that the way it is with everything? Fashion and style is a matter of trial and error. You might know what looks good one you but stretching those boundaries is a good thing. Try something new occasionally, you might find something that you like. I have no idea where I got this pair of shorts but I feel like you will be able to find plenty in the stores. Here are a few.
Thanks to all of you who shared your embarrassing “ex” encounters with me on Monday. They made me not feel so bad. Lol! The winners of the Sofia bracelets are Caroline Spoth and Karen Shelton. I’ll send you an email but it will be next week before I get the bracelets in the mail since I am out lollygagging. Lol!
