CAN YOU SEE JESUSThis is a block of wood that I bought at least 30 years ago at a craft fair. It is a simple block of wood with some lighter strips of wood glued to it in varying patterns. But, when looked upon in just the right way you will see the message of Jesus.

This plaque sits in my kitchen window so that I look on it every day. I would like to say that I look at it and remember its meaning every day but I’ll be honest and tell you that most days I don’t even notice it sitting there.

Isn’t that just like life? Jesus is always with us just waiting for us to notice him. However, in our busy and crazy life, we run around and never take the time to focus and to see Jesus. We can find Jesus in even the smallest events and He is there in the major events also.

Some mornings I will go outside before Joe wakes up and just sit out on the back porch. I just sit and listen to the birds chirping, and the cars going down the road and I find that it is so peaceful. In that moment I will see Jesus. I will thank Him for all of His creations and the beauty that is all around me. Then life starts to happen. Breakfast needs to be fixed, emails need to be answered, phone calls need to be answered, and it is time to get to work doing something. Whoops, where did He go? The answer is He didn’t go anywhere, we did.

When things are going great it is so easy for me to be thankful and praise His name. I am diligent about thanking the Lord through the day and at night for the smallest of blessings. I thank Him for my health, for business at work, and even for a good hair day. But, I am not so diligent in thanking Him for my struggles. I don’t thank Him for the growth that I have achieved in going through a difficult time, I don’t thank him for the friends that might have supported me when I am in pain, all I do is wallow in my misery.

Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Have you ever noticed that we can seem to find the Lord in the BEST of times and in the WORST of times but in everyday life, we sometimes lose sight of him? I call out to Him in times of stress and need. I beg Him to heal the sick and to comfort the widows. When times are tough you can find me calling out to Him even though He has been with me all along.

Acts 17:27

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

It can be difficult to see the Lord in all of our life’s event when our eyes are on ourselves. However, faith teaches us that He is present despite our jumbled and messed up circumstances. Just like this plaque, JESUS is there whether we see Him or not.

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Have A Blessed Day!

  1. What a interesting plaque to remind you to focus on Jesus. I know I am guilty of forgetting who is ever present in my life. When I take the time to really pray and ask for Jesus to guide me my day will show me many blessings. You are so good with your Sunday witness message. Have you ever thought about traveling and giving your witness of God as a guest speaker.?You would be great at it! You definitely have a way with words. I enjoy your blog daily.

Connie, the plaque is one of my favorite items that I probably take for granted. As for being a speaker, I am much better behind the keyboard and there are way better-qualified scholars than me. I am just someone who struggles and is always looking for ways to be a better person for the Lord.

  2. In answer to your headline question, the answer is YES…I see Him every moment, every day….thank you Tania for your bold faith!

  3. I read in the news this week that an atheist group was successful in having a Bible removed from an POW-MIA Memorial. It’s good to know that although the Bible was removed God never left them. Thank you for your Sunday posts. No squelching Christianity on this site! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Great reminder, Tania. I know that I am guilty of taking the Lord for granted sometimes though I know that He is always there.

  5. The past year has been a real struggle and sometimes I have lost sight of Jesus but I know that he never lost sight of me. This message has hit me personally. Thank you for Acts 17 verse that reminds there are reasons for my struggle and this verse helps me see it with godly eyes instead of human eyes. God Bless You.

How very beautiful and timely, Tania! I have one of those too and my son made it for my Dad so its very special to me! With all the hubbub of our wedding, family issues and looking at houses to buy I might forget to rest in Jesus and spend quality time w him if I’m not careful!

Again, you have nailed it, no pun intended. How wonderful to know He never lets go and never gives up on us! Again, thank you.

  9. Thank you Tania and once again it was nice to be reminded that Jesus is with us whether we can see him or not. I Love your Sunday messages.
