50 IS NOT OLD | THE SUN WILL COME OUT | FASHION OVER 40I feel like bursting out in song today and I think that I am going to sing a popular tune from the play “Annie.” Yes, the Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow, or in this case, today. Lol! I am soooooo happy to see the sun shining that I don’t even care if I am having to squint to see. The sun has come out just in time also since I have plans for this weekend and the upcoming week. I am having company, and, not just any company. My son and his family from Tennessee are coming to visit!!!
50 IS NOT OLD | THE SUN WILL COME OUT | FASHION OVER 40 They normally come and visit with me for a week around this time of the year. It coincides with Emersyn’s birthday so they get to get two for the price of one. Visit with me AND attend a birthday party (very low key) for Emersyn. I know that Emersyn is on cloud nine because she LOVES Matti. She likes the boys too but Matti is her idol. Every time I have seen Emersyn this week she has made it a point to tell me that Matti is coming to visit. Lol! I always sound so surprised so she is probably starting to think that I am losing my mind. Lol! I haven’t gotten my nails done in quite some time because I know that a “girls day out” will be on the agenda. I love getting to treat everyone to a mani-pedi while they are visiting. It has been a while since I have gone to watch the fireworks in town but I am betting it will be on the agenda also. Lol! It looks like next week is getting busy for me, I can hardly wait!!!50 IS NOT OLD | THE SUN WILL COME OUT | FASHION OVER 40 Sunny and windy was what my day was as you can see from my wild looking hair. Are you finally glad to be seeing a different blouse on the blog? Remember, you all asked for the series on styling one blouse in different ways. Lol! This top is so comfortable that I loved it the minute that I tried it on. It is by Ann Taylor and I loved the bright colors in the print. This type of top will go with so many different colors that you could wear it over and over and not wear it the same way for a long time. I bought this at an outlet store and I really wish that it hadn’t been a tie front top. I think that I would wear it longer if it had been just a normal type hemline.

50 IS NOT OLD | THE SUN WILL COME OUT | FASHION OVER 40I hardly have any jewelry on at on today, someone needs to take my temperature. I only have on my India earrings which are pink and white tassels with pearls on a gold hoop. These really do make a statement and that statement is “I am a fun person!” Who doesn’t want to be fun??? I do have on (you can’t see it in this photo) my Alex and Ani bracelets and my Apple watch. Joe was wrong about the watch because I love it and don’t leave the house without it. 50 IS NOT OLD | THE SUN WILL COME OUT | FASHION OVER 40I am still loving my bright pink shoes. There was no way that I would have ever worn pink shoes in the past. I would have been way too self-conscious and would have worried what others would think. Now, I have learned to embrace my individuality and if that is not everyone’s cup of tea then I am fine with that. The buckle detail is a hot trend, especially in shoes.

50 IS NOT OLD | THE SUN WILL COME OUT | FASHION OVER 40I wanted to wear a darker pair of pants so that the colors would really stand out. I went with a plain black pair of Pixie Pants from Old Navy. If you have been following me very long then you know that I love Pixie Pants. They are comfortable, they fit me great, and they are very affordable. Mine are the stretchy type with spandex added. When I buy this type then I will size up one size. I normally wear a size 10 but when I buy these I will buy a 12. It is just a number because I am still the same size no matter what. 50 IS NOT OLD | THE SUN WILL COME OUT | FASHION OVER 40I am really looking forward to having all of my grandbabies together! We have scheduled a photo shoot while they are here. That will be amusing I am sure. Can you imagine trying to wrangle 5 grandbabies together from the ages of 10 months to 10 years? What are your plans for the weekend? There aren’t that many things to do here in Grundy. I am glad that we have a pool because that will keep them occupied and I am sure that a trip to the movies, a shopping trip to Walmart, and making smores will definitely happen. Sleep, however, might not happen as much. Lol! Boy, do I look forward to it!!!!

I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

  1. Another song to add to your happy sunny list should be ‘the sun has got his hat on hip hip hip hooray lol. No wonder you feel happy having all the family to visit, fun times ahead. Love the colours in the top, bright and cheerful, also the shoes are great and certainly say Wow! Have a great day.

  2. Tania, I can remember school letting out for summer and going to stay with grandma on and off. Except grandma didn’t have a pool…, they had a big yard…so I got to help mow!! HaHa! Oh, but I would do it all over again!! Nothing like with being spoiled by your Grandma!!

  3. I am chuckling to myself as the first thing I thought to myself when I saw what you were styling today was “Oh, I love that top with the tie” and you wish it didn’t have it. I am always on the lookout for a “tie” blouse as I always feel they give just a little more room in the tummy area but yet aren’t blousy and have a little straighter fit to still make them look slenderizing. You have such a fun week ahead of you and I would be so excited too. I’m sure you will be busy this weekend preparing for their arrival. Enjoy your sunshine.

  4. I am leaving Ohio today to head to Outerbanks with my 3 grandkids ages 18 months to 6 years, their parents, my husband and my very energetic dog. Should be interesting but fun!

  5. I love Ann Taylor! The styles are so classic and on trend! Beautiful!

  6. The bright pink shoes are definitely my cup of tea!! I always think it’s fun to add a punch of color with our shoes (yes…I’m a shoeaholic. But I blame my mother (the 80+ model on my blog) because the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree). Enjoy your exciting weekend!!

  7. You’ve put a song in my head I’ll hear all day. Pretty top and like previous comment I like tie tops too. They are good at hiding my belly. My family coming home too next week and I can’t wait. No grandkids yet but cookouts and fireworks in the plans with my children and brother and sister-in-law. Almost forgot, love the pink shoes.

One thing I’ve never seen addressed in your blog is how to pose for photos! I rarely photograph well and I’m wondering if you would share your tips!

I’m sure you’ve told us before, but what brand are your shoes? I love those!

Sounds like so much fun. I was with my husband’s kids last weekend and we did pretty much the same things. We had a wedding in the family so there was going to the spa, shopping, hanging out at the pool and lots of food and little sleep. I love family time! Enjoy those kids and get lots of lovin’ in.

  11. Tania, your posts are such fun to read and you look darling in this outfit! Love the pink shoes too!

  12. Heading to Outer Banks for a vacation with my grandkids ages 18 months to 6, their parents , and my very energetic dog. Should be interesting😳😄

  13. Just got back from our annual trip with our grandsons. It was so much fun! I am also wanting to know about those pink shoes???
