50 IS NOT OLD | SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD | FASHION OVER 40Have you ever doubted your abilities? I know that I have pretty much most of my life. I am a scaredy-cat when it comes to a LOT of things. I am pretty much petrified of heights. That means that I don’t like to fly and I hate staying in hotels on the higher floors. When I went to Las Vegas in 2016 we stayed in the Penthouse which was on the 20th floor I think. Going out on the balcony would make my stomach turn somersaults.50 IS NOT OLD | SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD | FASHION OVER 40 But, even though I am afraid of certain things I have always had this weird notion that I could do anything. Why is it that some people are sure of their abilities and have confidence in what they can accomplish and others refuse to even try? I am not expecting an answer, I am just thinking out loud. I love the saying, “She Believed She Could So She Did.” I believe people are capable of so much more than they know, they just need to believe and then DO IT!!! First comes belief an then comes actions. Without both of these together you will probably not succeed. #soapboxrant50 IS NOT OLD | SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD | FASHION OVER 40Graphic tee-shirts are not over women over 40……NOT! “They” are always trying to tell us women what to wear and I am going to quote Joe right now. “Who are they?” Whenever I start telling Joe about something that “they” said, he will stop me and ask me who they are. This is actually a very good question and one that you should ask yourself in everything. Who are they and why do you care what they think? The only thing that I have to say about graphic tees is this, make sure they fit and that you agree with what the saying on the shirt says. 50 IS NOT OLD | SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD | FASHION OVER 40Yay, the jewelry is back!!! It is very unusual for me not to wear jewelry and even more unusual for me not to wear it on the blog. lol! I wondered if you gurls would even notice that I didn’t have any on and you didn’t disappoint me. Hahaha! I am a lover of all accessories since they are really enhancements. My enhancements today are the Paula silver hammered earrings with black fringe and the Darla silver and black link bracelet. 50 IS NOT OLD | SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD | FASHION OVER 40The leaf design is big this year. I have seen lots of clothing with palm leaves, etc. on them but I hadn’t noticed the design on shoes until I saw this pair the other day. I would tell you who these are made by except that I didn’t bring them with me on my vacation and I can’t remember. Lol! Anyway, they are silver metallic leather and the leather has been cut to resemble a leaf. How cute is that? I like these kinds of sandals for a small amount of walking but if I am going to be walking a lot then I will need more support.
50 IS NOT OLD | SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD | FASHION OVER 40I wonder what “they,” say about camo pants over 40. Lol! I bet I don’t really want to know since I wouldn’t like it. Anyway, camo is just a print, that is all it is. If you like it then wear it and if you don’t like it then simply don’t purchase it. Wow!!! That was pretty simple. Please send me a $1.00 for that fashion advice that I am sure you can’t get from anyone else. Email me for my mailing address. I always feel naked when I don’t have on my jewelry! Lol!!! Hey, I noticed that we both have the same top. I saw it on your blog!

    • Tania Reply

Lol! Mary Beth, you are so funny. The camo pants were in my Trunk Club shipment one month.

I have a tshirt I just bought that says, “I’m done adulting Let’s go to Disney”. Love the pants and those sandals are adorable!

    • Tania Reply

Oooh! Disney is fun! Especially if the kids are at that age to see all the wonder and magic!

  2. love those sandals! how could you not love a graphic tee with a great saying?! you look so great.

  3. So cute! I’m 45 this week and graphic fees are my “Mom Uniform” for all of my girls ‘ sporting events. I love your little gray number today. My personal favorite now is “it’s all temporary” 2 Corinthians 4:18 in classic black and white. I love wearing a little reminder of what is important. Love your inspirational reminder of believing in yourself!!!

    • Tania Reply

Theresa, I love the “it’s all temporary” saying. I don’t think that I have seen that before.

  4. Well…I am one of those that think since I’m over 60 I can’t wear graphic tees because “they” say I’m too old for that. The closets thing I have is a camo short sleeve sweatshirt type material with a black star in the front that another blogger styled and I loved it. In fact, I have it on this morning for a dentist appt. but I still feel a little a little uncomfortable wearing it even though “it” is so comfortable…LOL. Your outfit today looks so comfy!

    • Tania Reply

Wear the shirt with pride and confidence, Sandy! I promise that no one else is even thinking anything about it!

    • Tania Reply

Sue, the pants are from a Trunk Club shipment. They came from Nordstroms.

  5. I have several graphic tees and it still catches me off guard when someone is staring at my chest and then I realize they are reading my shirt! My favorite says – The book was better

    • Tania Reply

I love that description, Jodie! I am going to have to remember that one. Lol!

  6. Susan Stancliff Reply

This over 50 lady wears graphic tees. My favorite says “Put on your Lipstick and hustle”! I love it. So where did you get those shoes? I love them!

    • Tania Reply

I love that tee, Susan! I bet ladies who sell Lipsense would love that one. I bought my shoes at TJ Maxx a couple of weeks ago.

    • Diane Roysden Reply

Favorite tee says “Dog Mom”. to 2 Pit Bulls and 1 Schnauzer all spoiled rotten.

  7. The only graphic tee I have says PERU, my country, I wear it for flag day, the creole day and now for the World cup!

  8. You’ve just gotta love the sage advice we get from people who graduated from “They University!” It’s amazing how much “they” know! I have several graphic tee shirts. The one I wore yesterday says, “This Llama Don’t Need Your Drama.” I also have a tee that says, “Livin’ on a Prayer,” and another that says, “Wife, Dog Mom, Boss.” Pretty much sums it up for me! 😉 Thanks for your blog! I look forward to reading it every morning.

  9. Oh gosh! This outfit is so cool! I’m getting camo pants this weekend and will run to TJMaxx to check if they still have the sandals.

  10. Tina Murphey Reply

Gurl, who cares what “They” say! I say, if you like it then wear it…as long as it’s appropriate. Also, I missed that you didn’t put in any links to those shoes or some like them. I absolutely LOVE them! Looking Good Chic!

  11. Travel request – We are heading from Dallas for Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks in August (a very round about way to get our daughter to her freshman year at Sewanee, Tennessee). When I’m not crying or physically attached to her, we are hoping to enjoy our time there. Would you be willing to share your favorite spots? Thank you!

    • Tina Murphey Reply

Hi Penny, I live in SC and have spent most of my life vacationing there. I will give you a couple of places where I think you will definitely enjoy: Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, Broadway on the Beach, Dixie Stampede, a huge variety of great Putt Putt and or if you like/prefer…Golf Courses! If you get a chance and you like wildlife, check out T.I.G.E.R. Preservation. There’s so much to do there…you will not be bored. Enjoy visiting our great state and our coast line! If you have time, spend a day in Charleston…it’s not the far away.

  12. You look so pretty! Love the camo pants especially. I’m youngest of 4 sisters and they gave me tee that says “I’m the youngest, the rules don’t apply to me”. Gave us all a good laugh. Great blog today.

  13. Cheryl Ann Wilcutt Reply

My favorite graphic tee says “When life gives you lemons, mix them with vodka!” (and I don’t even drink!) It just reminds me that bad can always be turned into something good!

  14. Kristi Tandy Reply

My favorite is, “Save water. Drink more wine.” Just doing my part since down here in the Texas Hill Country we are already on Stage #1 drought restrictions and about to move to Stage #2! I must have those sandals!!! 😉

  15. Charlcy Green Reply

I love graffic tees and thanks to you I can now wear them again! Yay! One of my favorite is “She laughs” Proverbs 31:25. Another is Grateful, Thankful, Blessed, and also “Wild Heart”, but I SO love yours too! I just got those earrings and love them!

  16. I only have one graphic tee; it says”I am Blessed”. Unfortunately the words march right across my bustline and people think I am bragging.😊

  17. I saw this on a tee shirt the other day “I’m as happy as a seagull with a French fry”

  18. I raised my daughter as a single mom and always thought I could do anything simply because I had no other choice. Tiffany is now 35 and is my best friend. Last year I went through some unexpected things that completely rocked my world and knocked me down to the point I thought I’d never get back up. At my lowest point she gave a mantra bracelet that said “She believed she could so she did”. She reminded me that I’d been through troubled times before and I’ve always gotten over them. So I picked myself up and with the help of the Lord I believe I can do anything. I just take it a day at a time and wear my bracelet to remind me to believe in myself.

  19. You look really cute! My favorite graphic tee just says “happy”. And it does make me happy! They, them, those people…whomever they are that make all these rules, they must sure be boring!!!!!

  20. Love the purple tee with the camo pants. Where did u get the tee from? I have camo capris. You always look great! I think we all feel naked without our jewelry!! I like the tees with Coffee quotes and Can’t Adult today! Make it a great week

  23. Someday I want to get the shirt that says, “I need coffee and Jesus”!

  24. I am so loving your hair now that you are growing it out. It’s giving me inspiration for my own. You always look adorable and classy.

  25. My favorite graphic tee I have says “life is short, your heels shouldn’t be”. I’m a heals girl, with everything. Can’t walk comfortably with flats.
