50 IS NOT OLD | SKINNY JEANS AND LEATHER BOOTSI sure wish that I was coming to you from “my” house. I bet you gurls wouldn’t mind me taking my pictures on my front porch if it looked like this. Lol!!! This porch was so gorgeous. When I was a child growing up I would go with my dad to some of his job sites. He was a brick and stone mason and I have always loved stonework on a house. This is the perfect blend of stone, concrete, and siding. I can remember my dad telling me that the dry stacking method, where the mortar does not show from the front, was the hardest to do. It just looks like the stones have been placed on top of each other with nothing holding them in place.50 IS NOT OLD | SKINNY JEANS AND LEATHER BOOTSOne of the areas that I remember riding around and looking at houses was Crossville, Tennessee. There are so many homes made of stone in this area. To this day, if I ever had the chance to have the home of my dreams it would be a big log and stone home. I would have large wood plank floors and a huge stone fireplace. I can envision a german shepherd dog laying on a big rug at the hearth. Great big wood beams form an A-frame ceiling and it has to have a wrap around porch with lots of rocking chairs. Right outside you would find a small stream that runs through the backyard and lots of wildflowers would be in full bloom on its banks. If you are going to have dreams they might as well be big and grand. Hahaha!50 IS NOT OLD | SKINNY JEANS AND LEATHER BOOTSI bought this cold shoulder top by Cherish back several months ago at a local boutique in town. The only problem that I can see in me buying clothing from boutiques is their clothing is not always easy to find online. This top had a brushed feel to the material which made it very soft. I like the small slit opening instead of the really large openings for the cold shoulder look. This is one of those tops that you could lay around the house in, run around town in, or wear out to dinner in.

50 IS NOT OLD | SKINNY JEANS AND LEATHER BOOTSMarc Fisher is the brand of these leather knee boots. This is a pair that I really like because they are very casual. The block heel design is easy to wear and you don’t have to worry about turning your ankle on them. It looks like I need to polish them again though, the toe is looking scuffed. I need to take them back to my brother-in-law, he loves to polish shoes. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | SKINNY JEANS AND LEATHER BOOTSHere is the view that I hate but it shows you how the top is made and it also shows you the back of the boots. My pants are Rockstar jeans by Old Navy. This pair was on sale really, really cheap a couple weeks ago and now I don’t see them on the site anymore. I guess they sold out of this color but there are several nice colors still left to choose from.

50 IS NOT OLD | SKINNY JEANS AND LEATHER BOOTSI just recently found out a trick for keeping my skin moist and soft. My Energizer Bunny Friend told me that she was doing while we were in Georgia and I started it on Sunday night and I am loving it. I have the dryest skin know to man-kind but I am terrible at putting lotion on it. I do good on my face but bad when it comes to the rest of my body. I have several tubes of Rodan + Fields body moisturizer but I never use it. (I know, I know) Anyway, I told her that I really preferred a thinner lotion so that it is when she told me that she had been adding 2 or 3 drops of the Active Hydration Serum to the lotion before she rubbed it on her skin. I tried this and it solved my problem of the lotion being too thick so far I am really pleased. 1. Lovely outfit Tania I love the light blue with the tan I often wear a light denim shirt with tan cords and I always get a compliment 😁

  2. Love this casual outfit and the muted colors. It looks very comfortable. There is a skill and quality to stone building that many Americans don’t appreciate. Glad you shared this beautiful front porch! Best…kathy

  3. Don’t frown on the backside view- you look amazing! How do you keep in shape?

Kendra, the only shape I am in is round. Lol! I keep saying that I am going to start walking but so far it hasn’t happened. 🙁

How is one supposed to wear that infinity scarf… Down or wrapped up? I never know. Love Old Navy Rockstar jeans… And you introduced me to them!

    • Tania Reply

Kim, you can wear it either way. I switch back and forth depending on my mood.

Love the porch and outfit! My sister and brother-in-law have a dry stacked hearth in their living room, it’s beautiful!

  6. The scarf is great with the colors of the outfit. I like the backdrop! I think someone mentioned varying your backdrops in the suggestion blogs last week and It really does kind of freshen things up!

Sandy, I would love to vary my photos but I have a problem with that. One, I don’t have a photographer. When you use a tripod you have to set the timer. The camera will focus on the area that you are going to photograph and if it is an outdoor scene it might focus on an area but when you stand in front of the camera you are no longer in focus. If I was going to stand in front of a tree, then that would work but if you notice, even in these pictures I did today, it is not crisp and clear. Secondly, around here there is so much stuff to get in the picture like power lines, trucks, kudzu, etc. Nothing very pleasing to the eye.

  7. That dream home sounds wonderful! My aunt lives in Crossville…there are some gorgeous homes in that area! Love the outfit and the tip with the AHS in your lotion.

Sue, those homes are so gorgeous! The AHS is amazing, especially in the winter with all the drying heat in the house.

  8. Loving the outdoor photos (one of my suggestions)! It looks so natural. Cute scarf Tania and I too lik stone around a house, makes it seem warm and cozy.

Holly, you are right. That is probably what I like about the look, it is warm and cozy.

  9. I think I would love to be your neighbor in your dream house. Sounds absolutely heavenly! Love your porch shoot today. That stonework is beautiful. You don’t need to shy away from backside photos. You are in good shape.

Ok, as usual you look adorable, but as I was reading some of the comments and saw where you commented about the kudzu being ugly. My “Bonus son” lived in South Carolina and I fell in love with the kudzu and he laughed and said “I love it too, but people around her hate it!” In the eye of the beholder, huh?

  11. Put your dream house, on Lake Winnisquam in NH and that is my dream house. LOL! We had some stonework done some years ago and the gentleman was a very talented mason. It still looks great. Cute sweater. The color looks great on you.

That is a beautiful porch! And the cabin in the weeds sounds lovely too! Your outfit is one of my “go to” looks.

  13. Love everything about this post! You’re so much more than a fashion blogger, and I look forward to reading your stories as much as seeing your outfits. You look great and so put together from every angle, so I’m hoping to see more side and rear view photos in the future, as it’s very helpful. By the way, you had me at wrap-around porch.

love reading your blog. Where are you from? It was so funny that you mentioned Crossville TN. My brother and family live there. I live in Atlanta so going to Crossville is a nice break from everything.
