50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND BLUESeveral of you thought the ticket story on yesterday’s post was funny. Someone even messaged me that Joe and I can’t go out of town without getting tickets and that seems to be the case. Remember Joe got a ticket when we went to Florida, (read about that here) and I got some this past week when I went to Charleston. However, I didn’t tell you the rest of the story about my tickets.50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND BLUEI did park the car in the street, and yes it was facing the wrong direction. Because the parking was so difficult to come by we just decided to leave my car in the fantastic parking spot that we had found and take Uber everywhere. We didn’t even notice that there were 2 parking tickets on the car because we didn’t drive the car. In fact, it was probably Friday before we even noticed the tickets. We came outside to wait for the Uber driver and it had rained the night before. I looked over at my car and mentioned that once again it was covered with something yellow all over the hood. (When we went to Florida back in April it got covered by yellow chenille looking things) That is when I noticed the tickets and I went to see what they said. That is also when I noticed that there were FOUR of them!!! Not only had agent 39 decided to give me 2 tickets, agent 9 thought I might need another pair. I am not sure if agent 9 thought I was just ignoring the tickets or if he had a quota to fill but at 7:09 he gave me a ticket for being parked in the wrong direction. THEN, at 7:39 he gave me another one for the same thing. Really? Am I wrong in thinking that it was a little excessive to give me a ticket for the same thing in 36 minutes? Before the Uber showed up, I went and got my keys and turned the car to face the other direction and left it parked there during the day. A “warning” would have been the nice Southernly Friendly thing to have done.
50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND BLUESomeone commented on the blog last week asking if you could wear black and blue. I think they were thinking more like Navy than this color blue but either way I decided to style black and blue. I have had this Entro top for a while now and I can’t even remember where I bought it. I am sure it was a boutique or a festival because I can’t find this brand in the bigger box stores. The idea is for you to take this as an inspiration not that you have to buy the EXACT item. I will admit that this top is different than most tops. The sleeves are strange and really open so I wore a black tank top under the top to keep from having a peep show going on.

50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND BLUEI bought this scarf fairly recently at Cato Fashions. I bought it because I liked the colors and also because scarves are inexpensive and can really tie an outfit together. This scarf has streaks of black in it along with the perfect shade of blue. You can see that I will also be able to wear this scarf with my wine pants and with something in the yellow family. That is how you can expand your wardrobe. I have on the Elliott earrings today. These earrings look small on the website but as you can see, they are a really nice large size. They are in Antique Gold setting and in the knot design with small seed pearls. The Flora bracelet looks heavy but it is not. This just goes to show you how looks can be deceiving. This bracelet matches the Natalie necklace that I didn’t think I would like but instead, I love!!! I even wore that necklace to the beach. (see here) To look and order Plunder items just go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and hit the SHOP button. Choose a party with my name in it and shop away.

50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND BLUEHere is a black pair of Pixie Pants from Old Navy. I like this ankle length because they look good with flats or heels plus you can tuck them inside of tall boots and wear them all winter long. Remember, it is all about expanding the wardrobe. Same product but worn differently equals a larger wardrobe. My bright blue Kate Spade purse just matched this outfit. The purse is not quite this bright in person. It is funny how photographs can be deceiving when it comes to colors.

50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK AND BLUEI love my heels but there are just some days when you just have to wear flats. If I wear heels too many days in a row then my hips will start to hurt. I know from experience that this is bursitis so I lay off for a day or two and the inflammation will go back down. There was a period of time when I had to wear nothing but tennis shoes for about 3 weeks. That was not a pretty sight, I don’t even like tennis shoes. Lol! I whined and whined and whined but I still did it. Now, I know better than to let it get in that shape. This is a pair by Fergalicious that I bought a year or so ago.

  1. Thank you Tania for this black and blue post. It was me that asked you about this colour combination. I love this outfit of you. I have a light blue blouse more or less exactly like yours, and now I see how I can combine it with black without looking too pale.

    • Tania Reply

Thanks for the suggestion, Erika! It made me think about a different color combination.

  2. Hi Tania,
I am laughing about the ticket issues you seem to be having… That blouse does not bring out the best of you and you need to get rid of it very fast. I like the rest of the outfit though.

Joyce, I think they have our number for tickets. Lol! The blouse doesn’t look that bad if you are just standing around normal. The arm sticking out makes it look weird.

  3. I love black and blue especially royal blue with black! I love those flats in both colors! I can’t help but crack up at your ticket story! Really though, agent 9 was excessive for 2 tickets in 30 minutes! Congratulations on your R+F succo! You rock, girlfriend!

  4. Cute outfit! I have just the opposite problem if I wear flats for 8 hours my hip kills me I have to wear at least 2 inch heel to be comfortable all day.

  5. Please give Charleston another try. We love that city and have found it charming ! I would suggest leaving your car at the hotel (valet parking-then you don’t have to worry about it) and walk downtown. The City Market and King Street is a must see and do. Much shopping and great food choices, too !

  7. Tania, I adore this outfit! The color and the simple way you styled it is adorable!!! Congratulations on your fantastic R & F results! You rock!

Thanks, Rhonda! I appreciate your taking the time to comment.

  8. Your ticket situation is hilarious! I always wear black and blue together. All shades of blue including Navy. I am not a fan of that blouse but I do love the color!

    • Tania Reply

I have worn navy and black together but usually it is because I couldn’t tell the difference in the colors until I got out in the sun. Lol!

  9. Like the colors. Like the purse and the shoes. Like the jewelry. Liked your “ticket story” and good news about your R and F team. Loved the scarf. Now about the blouse…it’s got to go.

    • Tania Reply

Hahaha, you had me with all those likes until we got to the shirt. Lol! I have worn it on the blog before and no one said anything. It must be the way I wore it today.

Woohoo!! Congratulations! You rock it in so many ways and I’m thankful for you! I Have To Say That I rushed Out And Found Your Cato Top From Yest. And Goit it! Cant Wait To Wear It!. Sorry…my Kindle Is Wigging Out Again!

That was a super cute top. I didn’t buy it the first time I saw it because they didn’t have my size. I didn’t know that it ran big.

  11. Good for you and your team! I can’t like the armholes on that top . It looks like it belongs to a much larger person. I agree you need to walk away from that blouse and not look back.😃

  12. Sorry Tanya, I don’t care for the top either. It just looks way too big!! The armholes don’t look good. I love everything else that you show us. I read your blog daily, love your style!!
