50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORI feel like the Seinfeld of Blogs. You remember watching Seinfeld, don’t you? There was a whole lot of nothing going on, it was just about the normal days of the characters. That is how I feel sometimes. I don’t have an exciting life where I am jet setting off to the Caribbean or flying to Paris for fashion week. Instead, I am going to work every day, trying to figure out a new computer system, and going to buy flowers at the greenhouse. Cue the music and come back after the commercial break. Lol!,50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORI do have a trip coming up in the near future, we are going to visit my baby girl in Alaska. I can’t wait to see her since I haven’t got to see her since last summer when she came in for a week. It is a really long trip and the time difference between us is 4 hours. That takes some getting used to once you get there. It will be cool there even though it will be July, so I will have to think about what to pack for us. I may pack my Hunter rain boots since Juneau is a rain forest and it rains often. The last time we visited her I about froze to death and it was in May. Lol! I have learned from my experience and I will be packing some sweatshirts and jackets. She will probably be running around in tank tops and shorts. Haha!
50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORWhat do I talk about first? I love this orchid cardigan that I bought from J. Crew. The cardigan is at least a year old but it matches this top perfectly. I love this color and I have several items that will look good with it. Someone called me the Queen of Color the other day in a comment and I loved that!!! I do enjoy color, it makes me happy and it makes me feel good. That is my goal on this blog. To make you feel good about yourself. I hope I accomplish that either in my writing or in my fashion. Everyone deserves to feel good and have confidence in themselves.

50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORI am wearing my Sookie necklace. I wore it with this outfit the other day which was very casual. Today’s outfit is much more dressy but the necklace works well with both. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to wear a short necklace or a long necklace with today’s look, so I just wore both. Haha! I could have flipped a coin or asked SIRI, too. Lol! I bet you noticed that the bracelet I have also matched the Sookie. It is called the Lois. I also have the matching earrings but I took them off the other day when I was wearing them and guess who can’t find them. Yep, that would be me!!! The Kate Spade earrings I have on today were a gift from my Energizer Bunny Friend. 50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORThe necklace that I attached this pendant to is under the specials tab. It is the America necklace. This is one of the specials that are red, white, and blue and will be great for the 4th of July. This necklace had a charm attached that could be removed, so I took that off and added this 2017 Plunder Anthem pendant. This is a large pendant with a gorgeous pearl dangle. The pendants in Plunder are a little more expensive than some of their jewellery and at first, I didn’t understand and refused to pay the price. They are all hand soldered and this one comes with pink glass glitter accents. The slogan is “beautiful girl you can do hard things.” I know some of you have been talking about joining Plunder and I wanted to tell you about an incentive that Plunder has yearly. You have until November to qualify for a Royal Caribbean Cruise. It would be hard work to make the qualification but if you are interested in hearing about the details just email me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com. 50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORI love this little turquoise patent leather Dooney & Bourke satchel. It just looks like summer. This is one of those purchases that I wrestled with because the purse is smaller than I normally carry. I was afraid that I wouldn’t get enough use to justify the cost,  since it was a purse that I knew would last for years, I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet. The fact that it was on sale also helped with the decision. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORThis top is by Violet + Claire. I can’t remember for sure, but I think I got this at TJ Maxx a couple years ago. If you only wear something 3 or 4 times a year then it should last you a very long time. The last time I wore this top was last July. WOW! It is a completely different look from the last time. When you buy items in the colors that you like you will find that your wardrobe will be able to mix and match easily.

50 IS NOT OLD | QUEEN OF COLORYesterday was my R+F payday. We are not allowed to say what we make because everyone doesn’t make the same amount. It is dependant on how much work you put into the business. Wow, that sounds a lot like life. Lol! This business is not for everyone but for those who really need or want to earn an extra income it is completely do-able. Send me an email to fiftyisnotold@gmail.com and I will be very honest with you about the business, the perks, the work that goes into it, and the payoff. Plan B is swiftly becoming my Plan B+. Lol!!!

Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. Awww, that is sweet of you, Sheela! I am just me so I might as well not pretend to be anyone else.

  2. How lovely to be visiting your youngest daughter…was thinking of the time difference – my tip is to start adjusting your bedtime and wake time by an hour a couple of days beforehand – that will make it easier once you get there (believe me with 12 hours difference to NZ I think I have mastered the art of coping with jetlag / time differences – haha)

    LOL Yvonne

That is usually what we do, Yvonne. It is easier coming home than it is going.

  3. I can’t imagine being that far away from one of my children and and not being able to see them more than once a year. Yes….Tania, you are the “Queen of Color” and you wear colors well. Your skin looks so vibrant in today’s pic versus last years pic. ~Lisa~

    • Tania Reply

It is hard being so far away, Lisa. Facetime and ZOOM really help out some since I can at least see her even if it is not in person. My skin looks vibrant because of the Reverse regimen. It is crazy the difference.

  4. LOVE that outfi!!! Color is therapy for our soul I think, after all who wants to go thru life in shades of black and white? when is raining out I try to wear really bright colors and find it lifts my mood and hopefully those around me so keep on being your colorful self! Alaska sounds wonderful!

    • Tania Reply

I agree, Cristina! I want color in my life but there are so many that only wear black because it makes the choice easy for them.

  5. What a great outfit full of color! You’ve inspired me to mix it up today and brighten my day.

    • Tania Reply

Audrey, you always seem to have a great outlook on life. 😃

  6. Who cares if you are not jetting off to Paris for fashion week? You are a breath of fresh air among bloggers! I love this print top and orchid sweater on you – such a happy combination and perfectly suited for your personality!

  7. Love the orchid sweater. Your hair style is looking a little different lately. Have you changed the cut? Love it! Can you post a side and back view. I am growing out my very short hair and think this style would work for me. Thanks for all of the pretty posts. Have a blessed day!

  8. Your writings are like my writings …chitchat and I feel like I’m listening to a friend talk. I learn something everyday! I’ve been a business owner and I can relate to your life and your struggles. However, I’m not so good at fashion so that’s where you are doing good for this 57 year old. This is one of my favorite outfits and I like how you tell what each piece is! Thank you for taking time out of your day to write. 🙂

I totally agree Tania…that dressing nice is to feel good about yourself. I know many think that fashion is fluff, but I can’t tell you how much confidence Nancy (the 60+ model on my blog) has gained since she’s taken an interest in what she wears!! I think you can teach an old dog new tricks, if they want to learn!
I love seeing your outfits because you love color almost as much as I do!!
And all of our lives are a little of nothing—it’s finding the gems that make everyday special!!

  10. Love today’s outfit – so summery! Love your blog too. You don’t have to be a jet setter and have a super exciting life. We all love that we can relate to you in your everyday life! Keep it real! 🤗 Sometimes I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe just by using the ideas you give. Thank you, Tania!!! Blessings on your day! 😉

  11. I really like this outfit on you. I am a color person myself. We are off to Alaska in July too! Thanks for the advice on taking some clothes for cool weather. I am never sure what to pack. We will be gone for 14 days!!!!!

    • Tania Reply

Check the weather before you go. You will need a rain jacket with a hood. It mists a lot there but no one is Alaska carries an umbrella. When it starts to rain they flip up the hood and when it quits they take it back down. Lol!

  12. I love this outfit, these are great colors for you. Your jewelry is perfect and I like both of your necklaces.

  13. Thank you for showing how to wear color! I have a closet full of gray, black and tan…enough is enough! I remember getting my “color reading” done before my wedding 28+ years ago. The consultant would put you in a season based on your skin tone and eye color etc. I am a summer! Your blog reminded me that I have a whole beautiful array of colors that I can choose from to wear appropriately. You are the best!!

  14. I love how you talk about your family in your blog, your baby in Alaska, who I remember from your blog last year and yes you must be desperate to see her, a year is a long time!
Long may you reign, your royal highness of colour.

  15. Love your site. Love the tips and would like to know what you do to keep in shape. I love that your outfits would look good for an office job such as mine. Thanks for sharing with us. Rebecca

    Love you and your blog
I just went to visit my
Newly engaged daughter — time difference: 15 hours 😜

  17. How do you keep in such great shape? I think I’ve seen you have practically a 8 pack. 😍 Just delightful, Tanya.

I love this top so much I went on a mission to get one. I succeeded. Got it on Poshmark. Can you tell me what material the sweater is made of and what size it is. And you didn’t mention which pants you had on. Oh boy, not asking too much am I? As you can tell I love your style. I have found quite a few things that you’ve worn on Poshmark. I love that site. When i go to Florida next month i will be looking for a qvc outlet. Remember, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Mariana, that is fabulous! I am thrilled you found the top because it is gorgeous! The pants are by Jules and Leopold.

  19. I just saw your blog on Pinterest for the first time and I love your outfit! The orchid color is one of my favorites! I love color too!
