DATE NIGHT OUTFIT

50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITOne of my favorite things to do is to go out to eat. I HATE cooking!!! I know a lot of you actually enjoy the whole cooking process but it has never been one of my things. I CAN cook, I just don’t LIKE to cook. Lol! Living in Grundy certainly, limits the places that we  can go. 50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITWe both really love Chinese food. Our Chinese restaurant is not exactly like others. We do have a buffet with lots of the Chinese foods but we also have a station where the food is prepared similarly to a Japanese restaurant. You select your items you want to be prepared (think Subway) you hand them to the chef and he cooks them while you stand there and wait. I can eat my weight in that stuff!!!
50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITThis is the type outfit you need to wear when you go to eat. I have everything on I need to hide my expanding belly. Lol! A loose fitting top, expandable pants, and even a large scarf to cover any belly bulge. You guys just thought I dressed for fashion, you didn’t know it was for function too. 50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITMy tunic/dress is from Old Navy. I love this swing dress, it is so forgiving. It hides a multitude of bumps and bulges and looks stylish while doing it. This is the perfect length, hitting just about 3 or 4 inches above the knee, to wear as a dress or tunic. You can’t see because I am wearing a scarf, but this is a round neck top.50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITThe blanket scarf is one I bought at a local boutique. These have become plentiful and cheap. You can find them at Target, Walmart, and Amazon. These scarfs make such a fashion statement. I told Joe that dressing is 1 + 2 + 3 + 6. Pants + top + accessories + outfit. Simple, easy peasy.

50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITI didn’t wear a necklace, duh! It wouldn’t have shown anyway, but I did wear bracelets. I have on the “I Choose Happy” bangle on the right called the Raelynn and the Wanda is on the right. One of the things I like about Plunder is they are an inspirational company. They believe in building each other up and encouraging each other. I wanted a reminder that I am in control of my feelings, and I Choose Happy!!!
50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITThe navy leggings are plain and simple. I bought these over a year ago and have worn them all summer long. In the summer I just made them shorter and let them appear to be crop leggings. In the fall I pull them down and stuff them in my booties. These booties, by the way, are super cute. These are c/0 Marmi Shoes and I have worn them quite a few times. The fringe on the backs of the shoes is a detail that makes them stand out from the rest of the crowd.50 IS NOT OLD | DATE NIGHT OUTFITI just learned that December 16th is Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. I want YOU to participate with me. I don’t want you to make an ugly sweater or embellish one that you own, I want you to pull one out of the closet and send me a picture of you wearing it. I won’t mention any names, but come one gurls, this will be fun. A whole post of me and my readers wearing our Ugly Christmas Sweaters. Over the next couple of days please take a picture and email it to me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com

NOW, one other thing. I am having a giveaway for the 15th month of my blog. Comment what you want for Christmas. I will announce the winner next Monday. I haven’t decided what the prize is yet, I am thinking of a few things. It may be a gift certificate to Plunder, Rodan and Fields, or Amazon. It may be some jewelry that I have purchased to give away and never did, or it may be something completely different. I’ll decide that and let you know. But, it is free. Haha!

I used to love cooking but since my son was diagnosed with his illness every mealtime is now stressful because there are so many things that aggravate his condition and I am constantly worrying that I might make him worse, so I suppose my Christmas wish is that he will feel well enough to have a ‘normal’ dinner with the rest of the family because he loves it so much. The outfit is fab, no need to wear a jacket with that lovely scarf.

I know exactly what you mean with an outfit for going out to eat. We often eat out Asian and we do the same as you which is cold,,wokken,, over here! Now, I will send you a Christmas sweater picture and what I want for Christmas is that my life may continue the way it is!

    December 7, 2016

I, too, hate to cook and my favorite food is anything with Asian flavor: Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc.. And having eaten too much of it this year, I am getting myself a fitness tracker for Christmas. LOL. But what I really want for Christmas is for health and happiness for another year for my family. We are blessed!

Well, what I’d really like for Christmas is for my son to do his online schoolwork without complaining…lol…but a close 2nd is a Plunder gift certificate. I love the pictures of your jewelry!!

Great job with the blog. It’s the first thing I look at every morning. My Christmas want is for my husband to continue to receive good health follow ups on his oncology dr appointments.

Love the outfit! You always take something simple and make it fabulous. I have a long lists of wants but I like to think of them as Christmas wishes. Top of my list without much explanation is to be more secure in what the future holds for my husband and I. We lost our house 11 years ago when the economy went bust along with many investments. I am wishing and praying in the near future to possibly buy a house. Don’t get me wrong we have a good roof over us now but we have been leasing for the last ten years with 4 moves and possibly one in the future. God has always provided thankfully but as I age we would like to be more settled. I know a house doesn’t make a home its the people in it. Please continue to do what you do. Always so thought provoking. Have a blessed day Tania!

Love the outfit Tania. I too hate to cook. Thank goodness my husband likes to. He is the chef here. I received my Christmas gift earlier this year when my husband was given the all cured from a terrible disease. I also want my children and grandchildren to be happy and my 2 new grandbabies that are on the way to have happy lives. This will be number 9 and 10! Oh and a plunder gift certificate would be fabulous!

Love the outfit Tania! I still have not found one of the scarves this year. And here is another similarity – just yesterday I wore a dress to work that was a bit fitted, so I added a silky type scarf to hang and cover my tummy, later shopping a retail employee complimented my outfit! Plus I took extra time to coordinate my jewelry, thank you for all of your inspiration! And I do not enjoy cooking anymore either, I just need more time for it!

Great outfit. I love your boots. Might have to get some in that color. And for Christmas- just health and contentment for the four adult kids in our blended family. They have had a year of illnesses, moving, stressful jobs and building a new home. Merry 🎄

Super Duper Outfit. Swing dresses are my favorite. I like the movement when you walk, look so feminine. Yum to Asian food. We have a Japanese restaurant nearby and they prepare the food at your table while putting on a performance. Kind of diners participation. Great fun with a crowd of people. My Christmas gift was delivered yesterday when my husband received a good report from his vascular surgeon. He had carotid artery surgery one week before Thanksgiving. Fear had been a stroke during or following surgery, did not occur. Thank you Lord for answered prayer. Our children agree to putting a big red bow on him and he is the Christmas gift to our family this year!

I LOVE your look this morning, soo cute. I love to cook, bake..it makes me happy. My wish for Christmas, is for my children to continue to be happy and healthy.. I want some of the angst in this world to simmer down. I am tired of everyone being so offended by everything, the racial divides, I just wish we could ALLL get along and live peacefully, along side each other. I wish we could go back to a happier time, we’re neighbors actually spoke to one another and helped one another, there wasn’t so much crime and violence. Being Kind doesn’t cost a thing..

We’re having Christmas a week early but ALL my kids and grandkids (7 of them💓) will be home. I love cooking & baking, so we’ll have a feast. I am so excited😊 Ever since I saw your post of you wearing the khaki green vest, I have been obsessed & looking for one. I found a similar one at a local boutique but just haven’t pulled the trigger. Maybe I will give my husband a little hint.🎄

super cute outfit! Love everything about it…I love how the scarf just seems to pull everything together! Great look. Although I really enjoy cooking, going out to eat is one of my favorite pastimes. I’m lucky….here in Richmond, VA there are so many choices. Hmm…my wish for Christmas? I wish for peace. Though this year I have had some health issues…so I also wish for good health.

I feel warm & cozy just looking at your outfit. Great idea! I’ll have to add a blanket scarf to my wish list! But most of all, I would love to get a new set of IP cameras to keep an eye on my two cats when I’m away from home. Our old cams are malfunctioning and we can see the cats, but we can no longer do audio/speak to them. Time for a new set! My furkids are my ‘children’. LOL

Really don’t have anything on my Christmas list. But would love to spend more time with my immediate and extended family in the new year. Am trying to work out a system where we get together with aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters several times next year (for both my family and my husband’s family). Time is more precious every day and spending it with loved ones is precious as well. Love your blog and all your outfits. You are amazing!

I have been doing a lot more cooking at home this year since losing 80 pounds since January 1st. We do eat out, but I am a lot more selective where I eat, and portion sizes. I love the swing dress, but it looks like the color you are styling is sold out. I think I’ll take a drive to Old Navy and see if they have it in store. I was there the other day doing some Christmas shopping for my granddaughters, and they are have some great sales. Plus if you sign up for their email, you get an additional 30% off. Just show the promo code at checkout. You look great today! I love your look.

Love your blog! I happened upon it the day I turned 55. I wanted to start dressing more stylish but wondered if I was doing it right. You have given me so many wonderful ideas! Love the swing dress just picked one up at my favorite store, Old Navy. Going to get me a blanket scarf. Adorable outfit!
I also appreciate your honesty and humor but mostly your faith. Your Sunday blogs are my favorite! Keep up the amazing job, God has given you a gift.
