50 IS NOT OLD | RED AND BLACK A CLASSIC COMBINATIONMy youngest son asked me if I could babysit Emersyn for him and Kayla for a couple of hours this afternoon. Kayla had an appointment to get her hair fixed and Joseph couldn’t take off work. After he twisted my arm for a long, long time, I finally agreed. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | RED AND BLACK A CLASSIC COMBINATIONYou all know that I love watching Emersyn, she is a ball of energy. Normally when Emersyn sees me she comes running and yelling, “can we go to your house NeeNee?” She loves to come to my house, although I can’t figure out exactly why. I am sure that it has nothing to do with the fact that we play with play-doh, eat ice cream, and dance around the house. Haha! However, today she was not having any of it. She took one look at me and started screaming, “NOOOOO! I want to stay with my mommy!” Kayla confirmed my suspicion that she hadn’t had a nap. Kayla eventually left and I had a crying toddler on my hands. So I did what all NeeNee’s would do. I loaded her in my vehicle, turned on the DVD player, and drove around town acting like I was looking for her mommy. It took all of about 5 minutes for her to fall asleep, but I ended up driving around town for an hour and a half till she woke up. I was not about to wake that child up before she got her nap out. All at once she woke up and started chattering away and all was good with the world. A quick trip to McDonald’s and back to my house. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | RED AND BLACK A CLASSIC COMBINATIONI know you have heard me say before that I love Christmas. This year I am struggling to get in the spirit because I am busy, the kids are all grown, and Ashleigh will not be able to come for Christmas this year. I haven’t put up on single decoration yet and I am threatening not to even put up a tree. This is the same person who used to put up a tree in EVERY room of the house. So, I bought this Santa scarf to try to lift my Christmas spirit out of the doldrums. I don’t do the ugly Christmas sweaters anymore, I like this more subtle way of saying it is the Christmas season.

50 IS NOT OLD | RED AND BLACK A CLASSIC COMBINATIONMy scarf is my necklace, so I only added a couple of bracelets to finish the look. You might have noticed that I have worn these same bracelets a lot here lately. Yes, I do like these bracelets, but that is not the reason. I took all my jewelry to the craft fair I helped with a couple weekends ago because I set up to sell Plunder and I still haven’t unpacked all my stuff. With all the Thanksgiving festivities going on I just haven’t even gotten it out of the car. I promise I will unpack soon. Haha 50 IS NOT OLD | RED AND BLACK A CLASSIC COMBINATIONI absolutely love this purse but you would never know that. I have had this purse for 3 or 4 years, maybe even more, but I have never carried it at all. In fact, I had to cut the tags off of it before I could put my stuff in it. At least I know where it came from since it still had the tags attached, Cracker Barrel. I paid a whole 29.99, can you believe that?

50 IS NOT OLD | RED AND BLACK A CLASSIC COMBINATIONYou might have noticed this was the same top and bottom that I wore with my Metrostyle coat yesterday. I wasn’t planning on wearing that coat to work at the lumber company, so I decided to restyle the outfit for you. I added this little red jacket from Cato’s that I bought last year. This is a shorter jacket than I usually wear and it is a one button closure. This one from Cato’s is similar, but not exact.

I have on a short sleeve black knit top which is also from Cato’s, but here is a long sleeve version that looks very similar.
50 IS NOT OLD | RED AND BLACK A CLASSIC COMBINATIONAnd now for my black Palazzo pants. I bought them at a little boutique up the road from me, and she had then in several solid colors. I never knew they were hard to find. I like the Palazzo pants, they are so comfortable to wear and they look really elegant.

Do you want to know who the winner of the Chadwick’s of Boston $100.00 gift card is???? It is Deborah Filipowski. Congratulations!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | METROSTYLE FOR THE HOLIDAYSThe Christmas holiday is fast approaching and with it comes all the fun of decorating the tree, baking cookies, and singing Christmas carols. Did I forget to mention that Christmas also brings about some stress? We decorate and decorate and then decorate some more, we worry about finding the “Perfect” gift, and then there are the parties that we are invited to attend. What should I wear, will I be overdressed or under-dressed? Let me help you, at least with the dressing part.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE OVER THE KNEE BOOTSMy get up and go has got up and gone. I feel blah today. I can’t seem to muster up the energy, or even the desire, to do anything and there is plenty that needs to be done. Piles of laundry are waiting, the cupboards are bare, and I can barely walk through the house without stepping on a toy.  If any of you want to come over and help me, just email me and I will send you my address. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU HANDLE FRUSTRATIONSLife is not always easy. Everyone knows this I am sure. We all have our share of bumps and bruises that life throws at us. But, how do you handle frustrations?

Granted, all our frustrations are not the same. I have had frustrations that make me want to pull my hair out and then there are those that make me cry. Plunder was having a Black Friday Sale where they were offering several pieces at a great price. The frustration came from trying to order any of the items. There were so many people all trying to order that they overwhelmed the website. They had to put the sale off till Saturday, but guess what? The same thing happened again. This is an example of those little frustrations that just make you pull out your hair. I sat in front of my computer hitting refresh for an hour and just wasted my time.

Then there are the frustrations of watching someone go down a path that you know is wrong. You can try talking, begging, and praying, but they are still headstrong about going down the wrong path. This kind of frustration makes you want to bang your head against the wall. Why won’t they listen? Can’t they see where this is heading?

The frustration of watching someone wither and die would have to be one of the worst frustrations. There is nothing YOU can do to fix them. You can pray and pray and pray some more, but ultimately it is the will of the Lord that will prevail. This type of frustration makes you hit your knees. The helplessness is so overwhelming it might even seem impossible to go about your own life.

We can scream, cry, fuss, or throw tantrums, but it changes nothing. We can plead, beg, and try to make deals with the Lord, but it changes nothing.

If you want to correctly handle frustrations, all of them, then you need to pray. THIS will change something. It will change YOU! The situation may not change, but if you trust in the Lord and pray to Him, He will give you peace. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW DO YOU HANDLE FRUSTRATIONSWe all have frustrations! We all have stress! Look to the Lord and trust in Him, and He will give you peace.

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR TO GO SHOPPINGDid everyone survive Black Friday? It is a little different here in Grundy, you can go to the Walmart and not get trampled or anything. Haha! I even waited to go there until Friday and they still had anything you wanted. All I wanted was a set of sheets that were on sale for 25.00. I was a big spender. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | BLACK FRIDAY DEALSI hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. I ate too much, but I wore leggings and a trapeze style tunic, so all was good. Haha Joe and I posted a Thanksgiving greeting for everyone. In the post, he gave me a small kiss. My daughter called me and told me that someone messaged her that they had just watched her parents make out on Facebook. Hilarious!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | A UNIQUE GIFT FROM JORDHappy Thanksgiving 🦃 I hope everyone is ready for family, friends, and food. I suspect most of you are busy at the stove cooking and getting ready for the onslaught that is coming. Lol! I seem to remember Thanksgiving being so much more fun when I was a child. You just played with all of your cousins while your mother slaved away in the kitchen.

50 IS NOT OLD | PLAID SHERPA VESTThanksgiving week is here and it is time to start making plans for getting together with friends and family. Good food is what most people look forward to and I must say that I look forward to that too. My favorite part of my Thanksgiving meal is the sweet potato crunch, it is like dessert. Yum, yum.

50 IS NOT OLD | LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTSI have had a wild and crazy month. I have been traveling way more than usual and then November is the month that I organize a craft fair. I am so nutty that I have been going through my emails making sure I have replied to everyone. The problem is that I reply on different items, laptop, desktop, and cell phone, so I don’t have all my emails in one spot only.
